Employees (termed “Data Brokers”) must identify data quality issues before data are used for reporting purposes. In five field studies, we investigate how these employees identify these often-hidden data quality issues. Organizations can execute five “checking” approaches: data templates, supervisor validation, data accuracy, data consistency, and data completeness. We discuss each approach, theorize their inter-relationships, and explain their contributions to research and practice.KEYWORDS: Data quality issuesfield studiesdata brokermanual identificationdata curation Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Additional informationNotes on contributorsArif WibisonoArif Wibisono is an Assistant Professor in Information Systems Department, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia. However, SG design frameworks frequently lack a comprehensive integration of pedagogical considerations, which might explain the observed variance in SG effectiveness. To address this research gap, we use a design science research approach to develop a mid-range design theory that translates pedagogy into SG design. We exemplify and empirically evaluate the application of our design theory with an SG designed for intercultural competency development with good results.","PeriodicalId":56289,"journal":{"name":"Information Systems Management","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135779737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
