These concepts are reevaluated from an Islamic perspective, based on the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad. This article aims to discuss the psychoanalytic approach in Surah Yusuf from an Islamic viewpoint and how these concepts can be interpreted in the context of providing solace to Prophet Muhammad during challenging times. Specifically, this research investigates the tumultuous journey of Yusuf, his psychological suffering, and traumatic experiences, as well as how the Quran portrays dream interpretation and defense mechanisms in Surah Yusuf as an example of Prophet Muhammad in endurance and patience during his mission. The findings of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of psychoanalytic concepts, particularly dream interpretation and defense mechanisms, within the framework of a realistic and accurate Islamic perspective. The Islamic perspective demonstrates a strong balance between dreams and their interpretation tools, as well as between unconsciousness and defense mechanisms, ultimately fostering security, peace, and the ability to overcome traumatic experiences for individuals who hold firmly to faith and religious principles.","PeriodicalId":56239,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Islamic Literature and Muslim Society","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135780722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It asserts that it might be an obligatory duty for Islamic scholars to exhibit a profound knowledge of this revered text. The study begins by introducing key terminologies, including Quranic revelation (Wahy), its exegesis (tafsir), and Qur'anic interpretation (ta'wil). These technical terms are elucidated to facilitate a straightforward comparison between the methodologies employed in the fields of tafsir (Qur'anic commentary) and fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) for interpreting the Qur'an. The research comprehensively investigates the subject matter and the aforementioned terms by employing an analytical approach. To ensure the rigor of the research, various documented materials such as books, journal articles, and manuscripts related to the field of Qur'anic science and its interpretation have been consulted. However, their linguistic nuances and stylistic methodologies are foreign to many contemporary researchers which makes any meaningful discourse an onerous and often arduous task. In this article, an attempt is made to explain the methodology employed by Tāj al-Dīn al-Subkī, an eminent 8th/14th Century jurisprudent, in his uṣūlī text Jamʿ al-Jawāmiʿ. The text has been selected, for its wide reception and great impact on the later development of uṣūl al-fiqh, as a model for the uṣūlī matn genre. It is hoped that the article will generate more interest in understanding juristic jargon and its usages in elucidating the principles of Islamic Jurisprudence. By offering a comprehensive analysis of the methodology intrinsic to classical uṣūlī works, with \"Jamʿ Al-Jawāmiʿ\" as the primary focus, this article endeavors to enhance comprehension of how classical scholars tackled and elucidated matters of Islamic law. The study not only sheds light on the intellectual heritage of Islamic jurisprudence but also serves as a valuable resource for understanding the evolving nature of legal thought within the Islamic tradition.","PeriodicalId":56239,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Islamic Literature and Muslim Society","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135781869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the implementation of this policy, without adequate preparation, can have performance implications. This research addresses the challenges related to the dynamic and adaptive state budget during a crisis. The method used is a case study based on facts, which is then analyzed using the theory of Budgeting Flexibility, considering three inseparable aspects in achieving budget flexibility: agreement on purposes, mutual commitment between parties, and creating agile organizations. Therefore, Refocusing does not compromise the performance of executing tasks and functions in supporting the implementation of programs aimed at improving the professionalism of teachers in Madrasah education. Describing their mystical journeys has been proven to be challenging because their journeys occur outside common people’s realm of thinking. Their symbolic framework are only known by those who possess pure hearts and the knowledge of kashf (a state of religious epiphany where someone was given the power by the God to see what others cannot see). Therefore, this study is aimed to analyze the interpretation of a semiotic-sufistic discourse by Imam Al-Ghazali (1057-1111) on “The Verses of Light” (the Holy Qur’an, Surah An-Nur, Verse No. 35) in one of his works Mishkat al-Anwar. The analysis was directed to some terminologies within the verses such as Allāhu nụrus-samāwāti wal-arḍ, misykât, mishbâh, zujâjah, syajarah mubârakah, and al-zayt using semiotic-structuralism approach in order to unravel the Holy Qur’an’s semiotic structure and Al-Ghazali’s interpretation which is filled with mysterious symbolic/esoteric messages. The findings in this study indicate that 1) Al-Ghazali expressed his knowledge of ‘irfan (a form of religious and spiritual reality where God’s secrets are unveiled) by utilizing symbols due to difficulties in explaining such spiritual experience in empirical terms to other people; 2) Symbols are the most effective method to decipher messages obtained through kashf. This was the reason why Al-Ghazali chose to use symbols to interpret the messages within the Holy Qur’an; 3) Al-Ghazali’s thoughts about makna batin (the deep messages) can only be interpreted by sufi scholars specializing in mystical intuition method through the holy prophetic spirit. By using this method, these scholars can understand the deep messages behind the realm of al-Malakut (the unseen) through suluk, a way of life where people stick to the teachings of Islam very deeply and with extraordinary commitment to please Allah, the Almighty God","PeriodicalId":56239,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Islamic Literature and Muslim Society","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135935224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
