A report of this travel is preserved in a 15th-Century chronicle, MS Milano, Braid. AF IX 11/1, and in later MSS (Ambr. C 74 inf., Ambr. C 103 inf., Vat. lat. 7924). During the 17th Century the relic was moved to the Jesuit church of S. Maria in Brera of Milan. La Sacra Fascia di S. Maria di Brera delta Compagnia di Giesu in Milano (1701) is a booklet published by the Jesuits in order to foster the devotion to it: here the Sacra Fascia is connected with the Infant Jesus' swaddling clothes, described in the visions of Veronica da Binasco, a mystic who lived in Milan in the early 16th Century. After the French Revolution the relic was apparently transferred to the church of S. Egli sottolineo la natura storico-filolo gica (non teologica) della nuova disciplina e produsse su di essa studi di tipo squisitamente letterario. Partendo dal primato della lettura dei testi, 1'Amatucci e portato a marcare di piu, tra letteratura cristiana e letteratura latina, la continuity, favorita soprattutto dalla scuola romana e dalla retorica. La letteratura latina cristiana e pero nel contempo germe della spiritualita delle moderne letterature dell'Europa. Croce in Gerusalemme in Rome and with the collection of books and manuscripts which is the original library in Rome of the Cistercian Congregation of \"S. Bemardo in Italia\". All the writings left by Rancati have been searched for in Milan and Rome, in the libraries Ambrosiana, Nazionale Centrale Vittorio Emanuele II of Rome, Sessoriana of S. Croce in Gerusalemme of Rome. They opposed Ottone Visconti and other rival nobles (\"pars nobilium\") that had been exiled from the city and were living in the surrounding countryside (contado). In order to better contrast their rivals, the family della Torre decided to acquire the lands and the rights (\"honor et districtus\") over several countryside places, including the village of Trezzano sul Naviglio. The policy of the family della Torre in the countryside is here investigated by the mean of three documents from the archive of the Canonica of S. Ambrogio of Milan. Ausonius's Gratiarum actio for his consulship and other works written in 378/9 (Precationes consulis designati and Epigramma I Schenkl) are analysed. The silence on Theodosius in the Gratiarum actio should heighten the praise of Gratianus's exploits. Gratiarum actio also asserts the role of Ausonius as a political-dynastic tutor of the young emperor. In 378/9 Ausonius was not isolated in Gallia, but he was well informed about Gratianus' comitatus in Illyricum: his informers were probably Gallic friends such as Proculus Gregorius, Siburius and Siagrius.
