Thus, the vibration isolation models and structures of the vehicle’s cabin and seat are studied and improved for enhancing the vehicle’s ride quality. To have an overview of the study and development process of the seat suspensions and cabin isolations, this research provides the overall view of the seat and cabin’s vibration isolation models developed and applied to the vibratory rollers based on the results of the existing studies. The study shows that with the semiactive hydraulic isolations (HIs) or semiactive pneumatic-hydraulic isolations (PHIs) applied to the cabin’s vibration isolations, the cabin shaking and driver’s ride quality have been remarkably ameliorated, while, with quasi-zero stiffness elements (QSE) added into the seat suspension, the driver’s ride quality has been greatly ameliorated. Based on the studied results, to control the cabin shaking and enhance the driver’s ride quality, a combination between the cabin’s semiactive HIs and the seat’s QSE should be developed in further studies.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"261 - 280"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46110893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chatter vibrations are an inherent characteristic of machining processes, and a common tool for mitigating chatter is a tuned mass damper (TMD), which functions effectively when its dynamic characteristics are appropriately tuned to the natural frequency of the vibrating base component. Robotic machining is a recent cost-effective method of material removal, but simultaneous regenerative and mode-coupling chatter can arise on robot tools. TMD tuning criteria for mode-coupling and regenerative chatter are different, and tuning to suppress one may prompt the other. Moreover, conventional analytical tunings do not consider damping of the base component, which may be a valid assumption for low-damped machine tools but not for highly-damped robot tools. The possibility of simultaneous chatter and base component damping effect necessitates the exploration of alternative tuning criteria.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"237 - 247"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47882840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The one-dimensional (1D) Fourier heat conduction equation is used to calculate temperature distributions over the thickness of the plate. Using Lagrange’s equation, we get the dynamic equation of motion for the plate. An eight-noded iso-parametric plate element with five degrees of freedom per node is used in the finite element formulation based on first-order shear deformation theory. Rectangular plates have temperature-dependent material characteristics; the thickness of the plates is scaled using a straightforward power law distribution. Here, the investigation of the FGM plate is conducted with two different boundary conditions, such as simple support and fully clamped. Additionally, new hybrid optimization approaches, namely RSM-Composite Desirability Optimization (RSM-CDO), Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), Corrected Moth Search Optimization (CMSO), Lichtenberg Algorithm Optimization (LAO), Sunflower Optimization Algorithm (SFO), and Forensic-Based Investigation Algorithm (FBI), are utilised to determine the best optimal solution, and the obtained findings are validated using confirmatory tests.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"389 - 413"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43771469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sound intensity measurement is difficult to distinguish the noise sources of motor. In this paper, a high-precision localization method for noise sources of bent-axis motor is studied to improve the resolution of the sound intensity images to locate noise sources accurately. Firstly, the structural characteristics of the motor are analyzed, and the sound intensity images are obtained through the experiment. Then the high-resolution optimization method based on compressed sensing is designed according to the characteristics of the sound intensity field. Finally, the sound intensity images with high resolution are constructed. The high-resolution images can distinguish the position of the prominent points, and the error is less than 0.4 dB. The identification distance of noise sources can reach 30 mm, and it breaks through the highest resolution of the traditional sound intensity test.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"350 - 359"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47999975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is of great necessity to utilize signal decomposition methods to extract fault characteristics for ultimate diagnosis. In the traditional variational mode decomposition (VMD) methods, the decomposition parameters (i.e. the mode number and quadratic penalty factor) are determined according to the principle of convenience and experience. This behavior reduces the performance of VMD methods to a great extent, and limits their decomposition accuracy and feature extraction capability. To resolve this problem, a novel VMD method for rotating machinery fault diagnosis is developed in this article. Firstly, a measurement index called weighted correlated kurtosis (WCK) is constructed by combining correlated kurtosis and Pearson correlation coefficient. Secondly, taking the maximum WCK as the goal function, salp swarm algorithm is utilized to find the optimum parameters. Lastly, the feature extraction is performed according to the selected sensitive mode possessing the maximum WCK. Two experimental examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed VMD method on mechanical vibration signal processing and fault diagnosis. Furthermore, by comparing with other two typical VMD methods, the superiority of the developed method is verified.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"360 - 377"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43008815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyzed several commonly used noise reduction algorithms, including wiener filtering, wavelet transform, spectral subtraction, and improved spectral subtraction, and then compared the noise reduction performance of several algorithms by producing noisy music datasets in the audio analysis tool librosa. It was found from the experimental results that the wavelet transform algorithm performed best when sym3 was used as the wavelet basis function, and the number of decomposition layers was 7. The comparison of different algorithms showed that the performance of the wiener filtering algorithm was poor in reducing noise, and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and signal distortion ratio (SDR) was low; the performance of the improved spectral subtraction algorithm was the best, and the SNR and SDR were 20.36 dB and 17.94 dB, respectively, when the SNR was −8 dB, which were better than the other algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate the reliability of the improved spectral subtraction method in music signal noise reduction. The algorithm can be applied in practical music processing.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"291 - 296"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44016539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This was done to determine the critical speeds of the pin-connected hammer rotor of the straw rubbing filament machine and avoid the resonance of the straw rubbing filament machine during operation. The frequencies and mode shapes of the rotor’s first six free modes were determined. The accuracy of the pin-connected hammer rotor finite element model is validated by comparing calculation and test values. On this basis, the prestressed modes of the pin-connected hammer rotor under actual working conditions are calculated. The effect of the hammer swing angles rotating around the pin shaft is investigated, and the critical speeds of the pin-connected hammer rotor are calculated. The results indicate that the rotor has the same mode shapes at 11 kinds of joint swing angles, and the maximum relative error for each order frequency is 0.88%. It can be seen that the hammer-pin swing angles have little effect on the vibrational frequencies and mode shapes of the hammer-pin articulated rotor. Compared to the free modes, the prestressed modes all have an additional torsional mode and consist of two-mode shapes of global and local; the global mode shapes are similar to the free ones except for an additional torsional mode shape, with increased amplitudes and modal frequencies; the local mode shapes mainly occur in cutting knives and hammers. The critical speed range of the rotor of the 9ZR-2.2 straw rubbing filament machine must be 2076.99–2348.32 r/min which is based on ensuring the processing quality of straw. The study provides a reference method for investigating the vibration characteristics of pin-connected hammer rotors. It is also of great practical importance to scientifically predict the critical speed of a pin-connected hammer rotor in order to reduce failure and safety accidents.","PeriodicalId":55888,"journal":{"name":"Noise and Vibration Worldwide","volume":"54 1","pages":"281 - 290"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42597649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the regulatory pathways of flowering have been well established in model plants such as <i>Arabidopsis</i> and a few crops, the flowering regulation pathways in perennial forest trees remain poorly understood. This paper summarizes the regulation of flowering time by miR156 and miR172, which are the main members of the aging pathway, and also presents new information on the role of miR159 and miR169. These two microRNAs interact with miR156 and miR172 to jointly regulate flowering time in forest trees.
