Diante da incapacidade em explicar o subdesenvolvimento destas áreas, Celso Furtado, dentre outros economistas, passou a avaliar a permanência do subdesenvolvimento como um traço histórico-estrutural da formação das economias periféricas. Neste contexto, enquadra-se a Microrregião da Mata Meridional Pernambucana, constituída desde o período colonial a partir da indústria canavieira e que, na atualidade, mantém padrões de subdesenvolvimento típicos daquela fase. Tomando-se como hipótese a validade das reflexões furtadianas para a compreensão do subdesenvolvimento microrregional e mediante pesquisa bibliográfica e levantamento de dados, o presente texto tem como objetivo geral avaliar a pertinência da teoria desenvolvida por Furtado quanto à análise do quadro de subdesenvolvimento da Microrregião na atualidade. Como objetivos específicos busca-se relacionar o desenvolvimento de economias centrais e periféricas; descrever o processo de subdesenvolvimento; e identificar elementos socioeconômicos que caracterizam a Microrregião atualmente. Tendo em vista as características histórico-estruturais locais conclui-se que as reflexões engendradas pelo autor são aplicáveis à compreensão da permanente, mas não inalterável, situação de subdesenvolvimento microrregional. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000MATA MERIDIONAL PERNAMBUCANA AND UNDERDEVELOPMENT: AN APPROACH THROUGH THE CELSO FURTADO’S THEORY \u0000 \u0000In the twentieth century the economic debates turned mainly to the classical theories to explain the process of development of the nations, and there is a gap regarding the specific reflection on countries and peripheral regions. Faced with the inability to explain the underdevelopment of these areas, Furtado, among other economists, began to evaluate the persistence of underdevelopment as a historical-structural trait of the formation of peripheral economies. In this context, the Mata Meridional Pernambucana, constituted since the colonial period from the sugar cane industry and which at present maintains patterns of underdevelopment typical. Taking as a hypothesis the validity of Furtado’s reflections for the understanding of microregional underdevelopment and from bibliographical research and data collection, the present text has as general objective to evaluate the pertinence of the theory developed by Furtado in the analysis of the framework of underdevelopment of the Microregion today. O acompanhamento de áreas com potencial agrícola, ou qualquer outro tipo de atividade produtiva nessas regiões vem se tornando mais frequente uma vez que essas regiões necessitam de um monitoramento mais presente deste tipo de atividade e também um melhor planejamento do manejo adequado da terra. Baseado nisto, o zoneamento ambiental torna-se um instrumento importante para classificação de áreas, com procedimentos diversos quanto à análise do uso e da cobertura da terra e dos comportamentos geomórficos. No geral o que se objetiva nesse artigo é destacar a relação entre o uso e o relevo da Bacia do riacho do Tigre - PB, dando ênfase em como os compartimentos do relevo interagem com os tipos de uso do solo e identificar os níveis de compatibilidade geomórfica através da predisposição litológica interpolada com os elementos topográficos. Os resultados mostraram uma área de uso agrícola 80% compatível, 18% moderadamente compatível e 2% incompatível de acordo com o gradiente do terreno encontrado na região. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000GEOMORPHIC COMPATIBILITY AND IDENTIFICATION OF USE PATTERNS OF THE BASIN LAND COVER TIGER RILL \u0000 \u0000Many researches are developed in search of a closer follow-up of the problems detected in the semi-arid regions of northeastern Brazil. The monitoring of areas with agricultural potential, or any other type of production activity in these regions where they become more frequent since the regions need a monitoring and present this type of activity and also a better planning of the land management. Based on this, the environmental zoning becomes an important instrument for the classification of areas, where there are different procedures regarding the analysis of land use and coverage and geomorphic behaviors. In general, what refers to this aspect is a relationship between the use and relief of the tiger creek basin - PB, given as the relief comparisons that interact with the types of soil use and identify the levels of compatibility Geomorphic by means of the lithological predisposition interpolated with the topographic elements. Dentre os estudos realizados nessa perspectiva, aqueles voltados aos estudos urbanos são realizados com maior frequência, embora haja maior dificuldade à medida que se volta mais no tempo. O presente artigo é uma contribuição aos estudos da geografia urbana histórica na Bahia, cujo objetivo principal é discutir a formação de uma rede de assentamentos densa no setecentos, para além do Recôncavo Baiano. A consulta a relatos de viajantes, documentos estatísticos históricos, relatórios dos presidentes da província da Bahia e mapas históricos auxiliou na recomposição dessa rede pretérita, além do acesso a livros, artigos, dissertações e teses que dispunham de informações sobre o quadro demográfico, econômico e social da província da Bahia. As condições naturais, a presença da monarquia lusitana e da Igreja, a existência de caminhos, bem como a dinâmica populacional e econômica evidenciam o processo de formação dessa rede no período da mineração dos sertões baianos, tendo sido Rio de Contas e Jacobina nós dessa incipiente rede. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000GENESIS AND DIMENSIONS OF THE NETWORK OF VILLAGES AND NUCLEI OF SETTLEMENTS IN BAHIA IN THE 1700s \u0000 \u0000The reconstitution of a historical geography has been done by many researchers within geographical science. Among the studies conducted with this approach, those aimed at urban studies are conducted with a frequent scope, although there are more difficulties as they go back further in time. The present article is a contribution to the studies of historical urban geography in Bahia, and its main purpose is to discuss the formation of a dense settlements network in the 1700s, beyond the Recôncavo Baiano, the region surrounding the city of Salvador and Todos os Santos Bay. The investigation of travel memoirs, historical statistics, Bahia Provincial Presidential Reports and historical maps, as well as books, articles, dissertation and theses that provided an overview of the demographic, economic and social situation in the Province of Bahia, aided to reconstitute this bygone network. Como objetivo central elege-se a discussão e a análise do processo de ocupação da cidade, na elaboração de um modelo teórico que permita aglutinar esse entendimento. Assim, propõe-se que tal processo seja entendido mediante a abordagem das frentes de ocupação, dos estágios evolutivos e da sucessão das atividades econômicas. Como resultado, a abordagem permitiu identificar que, no histórico de formação da cidade, houve três estágios importantes e distintos, respectivamente pelas características: “exploratória”, “desenvolvimentista” e, atualmente, a “consolidação”, todos compostos por atividades comerciais distintas, configuradoras dos estágios econômicos. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000IMPERATRIZ DO MARANHÃO: PROPOSITION FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROCESS OF OCCUPATION AND CONSOLIDATION OF THE CITY \u0000 \u0000This work highlights important aspects of the formative process of the city of Imperatriz, considered the second largest city in the state of Maranhão, located in the northeast region of Brazil. A central objective is the discussion and analysis of the process of occupation of the city, in the elaboration of a theoretical model that allows to agglutinate this understanding. Thus, it is proposed that this process be understood through the approach of occupation fronts, evolutionary stages and succession of economic activities. Os dados apresentados foram resultantes da discussão e da análise das Conferências realizadas no ano de 1910 por Cândido Mariano da Silva Rondon, as quais apresentam um importante perfil das ideologias geográficas existentes no período, cuja materialidade se faz expressa em uma representação cartográfica dos avanços obtidos nas expedições de estudos e reconhecimento, que foram determinantes para o processo de legitimação estatal em uma sociedade que se encontrava em processo de composição. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000THE COMMISSION OF STRATEGIC TELEGRAPHIC LINES FROM MATO GROSSO TO AMAZONAS (CLTEMTA) - 1907 TO 1915: WEAVING TRACES IN SERTÃO \u0000 \u0000With the objective to discussing some of the Strategic Telegraphic Lines from Mato Grosso to Amazonas contributions – CLTEMTA (1907 to 1915) to the processes of appropriation and territorial domain developed by the Republican State in the areas currently corresponding to the Northwest of Brazil, in Mato Grosso, in the so-called “empty hinterland”, a selection of the masters dissertation titled “The Republican Territorial Domain manifested in the Multi-Pressiveness of Rondon Commission” was selected in this text, in which it was intended to point out the actions of territorial recognition executed in the first years of CLTEMTA that strengthened the state body associated with the exercise of its sovereign power in the territory. Atualmente, em decorrência da declaração de inconstitucionalidade do artigo 2º da Lei federal 9.055/1995 que permitia a extração, a industrialização, a comercialização e a distribuição do amianto na variedade crisotila no país, decisão de 29 de novembro de 2017 pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal, o município vive em ambiente de incertezas quanto ao futuro. O objetivo deste artigo é promover uma reflexão sobre a dependência econômica do município e do seu posicionamento, ao lado da mineradora SAMA, do “uso controlado do amianto”, deixando evidente que os argumentos econômicos e mercadológicos prevalecerão, diante do desenvolvimento de diversos estudos científicos em várias partes do mundo que demonstram os males à saúde humana. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000THE EARTH-FLAX AND ITS IMPACTS IN THE CITY OF MINAÇU \u0000 \u0000The mineral extraction of Earth-flax is the main economic source of the city of Minaçu, located in the north of the State of Goiás, since its foundation has developed thanks to the Cana Brava mine. Nowadays, the city is uncertain about the future, due to the declaration of unconstitutionality of the Second article of the federal law 9.055/1995 which permitted the extraction, industrialization, commercialization and the distribution of earth-flax in the variety chrysotile in the country, decision dated of the day 29, November of 2017 from the Federal Court of Justice. As pesquisas elencadas possuem como foco de investigação os fenômenos religiosos expressos no espaço e em constante movimento. A questão matriz neste estudo é: como ler os diversos aspectos das manifestações religiosas de maneira colaborativa aos estudos? Partindo deste questionamento e apoiados numa bibliografia que perpassa por autores clássicos e contemporâneos da Geografia cultural, elaboramos uma proposição teórico-metodológica que divide os trabalhos de campo em três momentos distintos: pré-campo, em-campo e pós-campo. Portanto, propõe-se pensar os trabalhos de campo na Geografia cultural considerando essa trilogia temporal como suporte na leitura dos cenários símbolos que são, por sua vez, uma construção teórico-metodológica que classifica os cenários religiosos de acordo com os movimentos presentes e as simbologias que estes carregam, a saber: i) Estátua-Totem; ii) Festa-Ritual; iii) Itinerário-Via Sacra; iv) Gruta-Altar; v) Templo-Lar; e vi) Evento-Jubileu. Considera-se nesta construção a reflexão teórica em diálogo com os esforços empíricos; desta forma, estas categorias, embora separadas tipologicamente, interagem profundamente entre si. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000PATHS OF SYMBOLISM: STEPS OF FIELD RESEARCH IN CULTURAL GEOGRAFHY \u0000 \u0000The main purpose of this article is to present the results of a reflection on challenges and propositions about fieldwork that are part of research based on Cultural Geography. The researched surveys are focused on the religious phenomena expressed in space and in constant movement. The main question in this study is: how to read the various aspects of religious manifestations collaboratively to the studies? Starting from this questioning and supported in a bibliography that perpasses by classical and contemporary authors of the Cultural Geography we elaborate a theoretical-methodological proposition that divides the fieldworks in three distinct moments: pre-field, in-field and post-field. Therefore, it is proposed to think the fieldworks in Cultural Geography considering this temporal trilogy as support in the reading of the scenarios-symbols that are, in turn, a theoretical-methodological construction that classifies the religious scenarios according to the present movements and the symbologies that they carry, namely: Statue-Totem; ii) Party-Ritual; iii) Itinerary-Sacred Way; iv) Grotto-Altar; v) Temple-Home; and vi) Event Jubilee. Este processo, por sua vez, proporciona inúmeros desafios e perspectivas na construção cultural e política dessas práticas democráticas, com vistas à valorização do povo negro, de suas raízes e da edificação de novas expectativas acerca do planejamento de seus territórios. É por meio desta perspectiva que se introduz a discussão que orbita o presente artigo: a adição da categoria espacial ao conceito de governança, neste caso, imaculado no conceito de Governança Territorial, cujo imbricamento ao conceito-chave oriundo da Ciência Política constrói-se a partir da interpretação que tal capacidade participativa e deliberativa também auxilia uma sociedade organizada territorialmente na gestão dos assuntos públicos a partir do envolvimento conjunto e cooperativo dos atores sociais, econômicos e institucionais, enfatizando, assim, a espacialização da governança e do controle social. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000 \u0000THE QUILOMBOLAS TERRITORIAL COUNCILS IN THE STATE OF BAHIA: MECHANISMS FOR A PROCESS OF SOCIAL CONTROL AND TERRITORIAL GOVERNANCE \u0000 \u0000The Quilombola Territorial Councils are an initiative of SEPROMI-BA, the State Secretariat for the Promotion of Racial Equality, and its objective is the construction of participatory and deliberative spaces where quilombola communities can organize, defend and vindicate their interests and needs; in particular, their access to public policies and programs, thus contemplating the concept of political governance through a process of social control within the territory of Bahia. This process, on the other hand, presents numerous challenges and perspectives in the cultural and political construction of these democratic practices, with a view to valorizing black people, their roots and building new expectations about the planning of their territories.
