Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei dan penentuan sampel dilakukan secara multistage sampling dengan jumlah responden 126 petani padi sawah yang berada di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi dengan menggunakan alat analisis yaitu analisis deskriptif, analisis usahatani, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) dan analisis independent sample test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara teknis budidaya padi sawah jajar legowo dan sistem tanam konvensional sesuai dengan standar yang diberikan para ahli. Untuk usahatani, sistem tanam padi sawah jajar legowo memiliki RCR sebesar 1,954 dan sistem tanam konvensional sebesar 1,777, ini berarti sistem tanam jajar legowo lebih menguntungkan dari pada sistem tanam konvensional. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Islam Riau, Desember 2015 sampai April 2016. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial 4 x 4 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi PEG terdiri atas 4 taraf : 0,0; 2,5; 5,0 dan 7,5%. Faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman juga terdiri atas 4 taraf : 2; 4; 6 dan 8 jam. Parameter yang diamati yaitu daya kecambah, kecepatan tumbuh, indeks vigor, panjang plumule, panjang akar, jumlah polong berisi penuh dan bobot biji kering per tanaman. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan analisis ragam dan bila berpengaruh nyata, diuji lanjut dengan menggunakan uji BNJ pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi PEG dan lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap daya kecambah, kecepatan tumbuh, indeks vigor, panjang plumule, panjang akar, jumlah polong berisi penuh dan bobot biji kering per tanaman. Melon is a horticultural plant that requires fertile and loose soil. Herbafarm is one of the bioorganic fertilizers that can cover the shortage of PMK land to increase its productivity. The treatment design tested was Herbafarm concentration consisting of H1 = without herbaceous; H1 = herb 2 ml liter-1 water; H2 = 4 ml liter-1 water; H3 = 6 ml liter-1 water; and H4 = 8 ml liter-1 water. The environmental design used is a completely randomized design. Data analysis uses a polynomial regression. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Desa Jambo Labu Kecamatan Birem Bayeun Kabupaten Aceh Timur selama 2 bulan, dimulai bulan September sampai bulan November 2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif yaitu dengan survey lahan dan pengambilan sampel tanah di lapangan serta hasil analisis sampel tanah di laboratorium. Titik pengamatan dan pengambilan sampel tanah dibentuk berdasarkan satuan peta lahan hasil overlay (tumpang susun) antara peta jenis tanah, peta lereng, dan peta penggunaan lahan. Untuk melakukan evaluasi kesesuaian lahan untuk pengembangan tanaman jeruk maka dilakukan pengamatan sifat fisik dan kimia tanah, morfologi lahan dan analisis tanah di laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di daerah penelitian sesuai untuk pengembangan tanaman jeruk walaupun dapat terlihat media perakaran, retensi hara, hara tersedia dan tingkat bahaya erosi sebagai faktor pembatas/S3 (sesuai marginal). Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kesesuaian lahan dilokasi penelitian menunjukan bahwa lahan tersebut sesuai untuk pengembangan tanaman jeruk walaupun dapat terlihat media perakaran, retensi hara, hara tersedia dan tingkat bahaya erosi sebagai faktor pembatas/S3 (sesuai marginal) dapat diperbaiki menjadi S1 (sangat sesuai). Karakteristik lahan S3 untuk pengembangan tanaman jeruk di Desa Jambo Labu Kecamatan Birem Bayeun dapat memberikan input perbaikan untuk kesesuian lahan agar dapat dinaikan kelas kesesuaiannya menjadi S1 (sangat sesuai). Upaya perbaikan media perakaran dengan pembuatan saluran drainase, retensi hara (pH tanah) dengan pengapuran, hara tersedia (total N dan P2O5) dengan pemberian pupuk yang mengandung unsur nitrogen/pupuk organik dan pupuk yang mengandung unsur fosfor dan tingkat bahaya erosi (bahaya erosi dan lereng) 8-15% dengan cara konservasi vegetatif. On PT. TBS’S oil palm plantations has been using as whole by making a artificial enclosure (Nestbox) 3.000 Unit since 2012 year which spread a cage of for 25 ha on the estate’s core. Kemudian untuk mengetahui berapa dosis pupuk kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit plus (KOTAKPLUS) yang terbaik dalam memperbaiki sifat kimia tanah pada tanah ultisol. Adapun penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di BBU Sungai Rumbio Kecamatan Koto Kari Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi yang telah dilakukan selama tujuh bulan yaitu dimulai pada fase pertama pada bulan Februari 2018 yaitu pembuatan pupuk kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit plus (KOTAKPLUS) dan pupuk kompos TKKS saja. Kemudian pada fase Kedua dimulai pada bulan April 2018 yaitu lama inkubasi kompos. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Random Sampling, data yang diambil adalah data yang didapatkan dari beberapa taraf perlakuan yang dilakukan dilapangan, untuk berikutnya dilakukan analisa sehingga didapatkan data kuantitatif. Lama inkubasi pupuk kompos KOTAKPLUS terdiri dari lima taraf perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, yaitu : A =Tanpa Perlakuan (Kontrol), B =KOTAKPLUS 10 ton/ha, C =KOTAKPLUS 20 ton/ha, D =KOTAKPLUS 30 ton/ha, dan E = Kompos TKKS saja. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis dari laboratorium yang sudah dilaksanakan dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa kompos KOTAKPLUS memiliki nilai pH yaitu 10,1, C-Organik 21,06 %, N sebesar 0,94 %, P sebesar 2,19 %, K sebesar 2,94 %, Ca sebesar 6,24 %, Mg sebesar 2,19 %, C/N Ratio sebesar 22,40 %, dan Kadar Air sebesar 132,42 %. Aim of this research was to determine the effect of maturity level of compostto production of three shallot varieties in peat. The experiment was conducted at Experimental Farm,Islamic University of Riau from April to August 2017. The research used a completely randomized design with 3 replications. Treatments were no compost, maturity level 1 week, 3 weeks, and 5 weeks and Kampar, Medan, and Brebes varieties. Compost of 3 week gave the best result on compost and peat soil analysis. However, Compost of1 weekprovides the highest increase on pH. The treatment design consists of two factors, namely the defoliation time of the entries and the top graft model. The time of entries defoliation consists of 4 defoliation times, entres defoliation at the connection (W1), entres defoliation 3 days before connection (W2), entres defoliation 6 days before connection (W3), and entres defoliation 9 days before connection (W4). The connection factor model is tested by two connection models, namely, connecting gap (S1), and diagonal connection (S2). The environmental design used is a randomized block design in factorial patterns. Parameters of cacao seedling growth observed were the percentage of live seedlings (%), time of shoot buds (days), shoot length (cm), shoot diameter (cm), and a number of leaf buds (strands). The results of this research are that there is no interaction between the treatment combination of all observed parameters. The best time for defoliation is 9 days before connection.
