This has prompted the assessment of innovative digital transformation for dynamic information service sustainability in university libraries in Nigeria. Specifically, the research examined the nature of digital transformation, universities and digital transformation, innovative digital transformation in university libraries, dynamic modern information services in university libraries for sustainability, and the essentials for dynamic information service sustainability in university libraries. \u0000Conclusion: Libraries globally, and particularly in developing countries, must be re-positioned in this era of digital transformation due to technology adoption to offer valuable information services for their sustenance and to retain their relevance in the lives of the public. Moreso, there is a great need for innovative digital transformation in libraries to sustain modern information services as well as to increase their efficacy in information use as part of their mandate to leverage digital technology systems. The study, therefore, recommends that more sophisticated technologies are used in university libraries. University libraries in developing countries like Nigeria need more funding to fully exploit the opportunities introduced by digital technologies. Thus, university management should work hand in hand with libraries to enable them to fully connect to the opportunities of the digital era. It describes the changes of educational goals of Czechoslovak librarianship in the reporting period and methods used in educational activities.\u0000In the period after the end of WWII, Czechoslovak librarianship continued its development, especially in the legislative area, on the foundations built during the 1918–1938 period. Even in the post-war period, the General Public Libraries Act remained in force and there was a coordination center for educational activities which after the end of the war adopted its original name - Masaryk Institute of Adult Education.\u0000However, after 1945, training and public librarianship were in a completely different social and political situation. The field of adult education and the public librarianship remained priority areas of interest for political representation and individual political parties that operated in post-war Czechoslovakia. The political representation of post-war Czechoslovakia cooperated intensively with the USSR, and the left-wing ideas had very strong position in the political and public life of the state. In the first part of the article, we study the efforts of the communists in the period 1945–1948 to control the public libraries, which were one of the most important elements of the educational system and were of importance, especially in the rural environment. The second part of the article focuses on the period 1948–1959. Ngwuchukwu, Promise I Ilo, Omorodion Okuonghae","doi":"10.12775/ft.2021.008","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12775/ft.2021.008","url":null,"abstract":"Aim: The study investigated the awareness of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and information seeking behaviour of rural dwellers in Nigeria.\u0000Methods: The survey type of the descriptive research design was used in conducting the study and the study group comprised adult rural dwellers (18 years and above) residing in six communities (Peretoru, Ekeremor, Obrigbene, Enougbene, Amabulou, and Aya-ama) in Bayelsa state, Nigeria. Data were collected from 600 respondents who were randomly selected from the six communities. The data from the study were then analysed using frequency count and percentages. W sprawozdaniu z tego wydarzenia zawarto charakterystykę imprezy. Omówiono poszczególne wystąpienia konferencyjne, zestawiając je w wyróżniające się pod względem treściowym bloki tematyczne: czytelnictwo; edytorstwo; źródła informacji o książce; biblioteki; nauka o książce; ruch wydawniczy. Zwrócono uwagę na podstawowe hipotezy i tezy badawcze zawarte w referatach. W omówieniu referatów zagranicznych zaakcentowane zostały obecne w nich polonica. Podkreślona została sprawność organizatora, który wskutek pandemii COVID-19 zmuszony był do przeprowadzenia konferencji w trybie zdalnym. Wyzyskał w pełni wszystkie możliwości, jakie daje ta formuła, a zwłaszcza czat, dzięki czemu możliwe było komentowanie na gorąco prezentowanych referatów, zadawanie pytań referentom oraz wymiana poglądów pomiędzy uczestnikami. This study sets out to investigate the annual cost of acquiring this important and evolving aspect of library collection with the view of determining whether the returns in terms of utilization is commensurate with the invested fund.\u0000Methodology: The study adopts a quantitative research method. A self-developed questionnaire was used to collect data from 55 librarians in 41 academic libraries across Nigeria. The data collected were processed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.\u0000Findings: Academic libraries in Nigeria spend an average of ₦12,500,000 or $32,637 on OED subscriptions annually. The study has shown that Nigerian academic libraries usually subscribe to the EBSCOhost and Research4Life databases with few adding specialized databases such as Law Pavilion, HeinOnline, Legalpedia, and ScienceDirect. To ensure adequate returns on investment, the libraries are massively providing support infrastructures, user education, and other information services. However, challenges limiting the widespread use of online databases include irregular power supply and slow internet connectivity among others. \u0000Conclusions: The study, therefore, concludes that there is a middling to low return on subscribed OED in Nigerian academic libraries. Today, he is best-known as a writer of historical notes and commentaries. These records are considered an excellent source and therefore used by scholars researching the age. As the texts have not been recently published, researchers usually use the 19th-century text edition. However, looking at the original documents preserved in the ELTE University Library in Budapest, one realizes that Gyulaffi’s writings do not form a compact work, the 19th-century edition is largely a constructed text. Learning by reading and then teaching based on reading and learning is gaining ground with increasing intensity in our digital world. We should also take into consideration that these activities are rapidly claiming the digital space.\u0000Taking it a little further, this paper's goal is to find answers to the following questions: What kind of sources will would-be teachers use in education? In the case of online information, will they distinguish false or unreliable information from what is true and reliable? What can be regarded as \"fake news\"? Do the future teachers have adequate media and information literacy to inform their students about good electronic and traditional sources, too? What digital competencies do they have, and what are the most important qualities of a good and effective teacher in their judgement?\u0000Methods: The study will be devoted to these issues, focusing on Hungarian and Carpathian-Basin teacher-training programs. Regarding methodology, an ongoing empirical survey was used, based on a questionnaire that investigated how Hungarian university students relate to the above issues.\u0000Results: As a result, the study will focus on the Hungarian National Core Curriculum 2020, which created the ‘Digital Culture’ subject and develops media literacy.\u0000Conclusion: I find the appearance of fake news very important in education. {"title":"Czynniki kształtujące treści zeznań śledczych: przypadki członków tajnych stowarzyszeń (lata trzydzieste – siedemdziesiąte XIX wieku).","authors":"A. Kulecka","doi":"10.12775/ft.2021.002","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12775/ft.2021.002","url":null,"abstract":"Celem niniejszych rozważań było ukazanie czynników wpływających na treść zeznań śledczych, a przez to ich wartość informacyjną uzależnioną głównie od celów badawczych. Znalazły się wśród nich m.in. okoliczności aresztowania i przesłuchań, traktowania podejrzanego, sposobu prowadzenia rozmów, zadawania pytań, wywierania presji, dochodzenia do przybliżonego opisu realiów. Zaprezentowano w nich także formy i treści wiodące zeznań. Nieco uwagi poświęcono również postawom historyków wobec tego typu źródła. Przeprowadzone analizy wskazały, że treść zeznania kształtowały: a. wiadomości pozyskane przez śledczych z innych zeznań i innych źródeł, b. wiadomości, które ujawnił przesłuchiwany, c. dążenie do ochrony osoby własnej przez przesłuchiwanego, d. dążenie śledczych do ustalenia faktów i wymierzenia kary. Wynikiem niniejszych rozważań jest także teza o braku istnienia czystej formy zeznania np. tylko powściągliwego lub tylko szczerego.
