However, there is little research on PSEs in universities. In order to explore the relationships between PSE, SB and well-being, and to test the psychometric properties of the instruments used, we conducted research with asample of 285 undergraduate and graduate students (M = 21.63 years of age; SD = 3.91). We calculated descriptive statistics (univariate by scale/item and Cronbach’s alpha coefficients) and inferential statistics (Spearman’s rho coefficient, confirmatory factor analysis, covariances between constructs, also testing amodel of structural equations). The findings indicated that the scales were reliable (α > .60) and that, for the most part, they showed convergent and discriminatory validity. Furthermore, the expected theoretical relationships were confirmed: PSE was directly and positively related to SB and well-being, and the latter was also significantly affected by SB. This evidence could help to formulate public policies and programmes aimed at creating positive university environments.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"14 1","pages":"159 - 200"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88009489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, we study the consistency between home and the workplace. Given the literature, we envisaged that behavioural consistency would be associated with intentional and automatic determinants and with environmental self-identity and the perceived similarity of situations. 195 participants replied to an online questionnaire measuring the determinants of behaviours, the similarity of situations, the environmental self-identity and the frequency of pro-environmental behaviours. The results highlighted the fact that behavioural consistency is predicted both by intentionality and habit. Environmental self-identity moderates the relationship between consistency on the one hand and intentionality and habit on the other. Intentionality determines consistency when the perception of the similarity of situations is low. These results are discussed from the point of view of the practices related to the transmission of pro-environmental behaviours.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"299 1","pages":"103 - 138"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83441692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, based on the assumptions of ABC theory, we evaluate the moderating effects of context on the relationship between attitudes and pro-environmental behaviours. The study sample consists of 218 people living in China who completed a questionnaire distributed to an online panel. The data obtained are analysed by means of iterative regressions, t tests for independent samples and regressions using the PROCESS macro for moderating effects. The results show that the four categories of pro-environmental behaviours are explained by different attitudinal dimensions. It is also noted that contextual factors directly impact the four behavioural categories considered and further moderate the relationship between the attitudinal dimensions and two types of behaviours (waste management and ecological consumption). Implications for the design of strategies to promote pro-environmental behaviour among the Chinese population are discussed.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"20 1","pages":"232 - 257"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82803662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a first study (n = 374), we see that, when estimating the environmental impact of our own behaviours, we believe that pro-environmental actions can offset the environmental impact of those that are harmful to the environment. In addition, we believe that others have a greater impact. A second study (n = 497) finds that people who believe they have a lower impact on the environment than others and less than should be deemed acceptable display less intent to behave pro-environmentally. These findings highlight the difficulty people face in knowing the environmental consequences of their own behaviour, as well as the importance of perceptions regarding others’ behaviours in explaining the intent to behave pro-environmentally.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"6 9 1","pages":"139 - 158"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86326936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two studies were conducted using an Expectation of Others’ Environmental Behaviour scale. The samples comprised Mexican respondents living in Mexico City and its conurbation with average ages of 35.19 and 35.05. Both studies showed that participants believe others are unlikely to act in a pro-environmental way but are instead likely to engage in anti-environmental behaviour. Both expectations (pro- and anti-environmental behaviour) had a positive effect on the participants’ own pro-environmental behaviour. The results are discussed from the perspective of social dilemmas, as well as the possibility of a uniqueness bias.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"144 1","pages":"29 - 49"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78203058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also proposes recommendations for spatial design regarding the dual function of hospitals as a place of care for patients and a place of work for staff members. Finally, it discusses the amplification of the negative effects of hospital settings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering attitudes as main determinants of pro-environmental behaviour and the need to expand knowledge from an educator’s point of view, this research aimed to comprehend the relations between environmental education and the development of environmental attitudes from sanitation workers. Group differences in activity execution and age were investigated. A mixed-method research design was conducted in a Brazilian sanitation company, CASAN, in two phases. In phase 1, 119 workers from treatment plants where environmental education is performed were submitted a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Environmental Attitudes Inventory. Data submitted to descriptive and comparative analyses indicated higher levels for preservation and general environmental attitudes for younger workers. In phase 2, 19 environmental educators were interviewed and their data submitted to content analysis to verify attitude functions. Participants confirmed the importance of performing activities for environmental attitudes development; institutional determinants were discussed, considering workers’ role in the promotion of natural resources conservation and adequate sanitation.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"56 1","pages":"1 - 28"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78639397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The potential to promote restoration can vary from place to place according to a setting’s characteristics. Two scales, Perceived Restorativeness Scale and Restoration Outcome Scale, have been applied to measure the restorativeness of places and restorative outcomes in the Global North. This study aims to translate, adapt and analyse the psychometric properties of these scales for their application in Brazil and to test their convergent validity. Our sample is composed of 566 adults (50.7% male) from the cities of Porto Alegre and São Paulo, with ages ranging from 18 to 85 years old. Both scales presented adequate internal consistency and model fit indexes. Moreover, the scales’ fit indexes were considered adequate regardless of participants’ gender and city of residence, which were tested through multigroup confirmatory factor analyses. With this contribution, we expect to help the expansion of research on restorative environments in the poorly studied Global South.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"5 1","pages":"50 - 74"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72956608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A convenience sampling of students (30 females and 30 males, M age = 21.94 years, age range: 19–28 years) who lived all the year in the French West Indies performed two conditions in Tropical Climate (TC) and in Neutral Climate (NC), counterbalanced. During each climate condition, they completed the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule and a questionnaire evaluating feeling of fatigue, thermal and comfort sensations. This original study revealed that TC reduces positive affect (PA) scores, whereas no significant statistical difference was revealed for negative affect (NA). In addition, participants revealed lower thermal and comfort sensations and a greater feeling of fatigue in TC than in NC. These results are in line with the suggestion that TC can negatively influence subjective states compared with a temperate climate. Moreover, TC could also have a potential fatigue-enhancing effect and negatively influences comfort sensations. The impact of TC on affective states is discussed.","PeriodicalId":55641,"journal":{"name":"Psyecology-Revista Bilingue de Psicologia Ambiental","volume":"42 1","pages":"331 - 355"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82333177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
