We present the first systematic analysis on the spatial distribution of terrestrial wild mammal records for continental Colombia. By using multiple databases, we identified the geopolitical areas and ecoregions from the country with the biggest information gaps at the order level regarding the number of species recorded vs the number of expected species. In addition, we carried out a complementarity analysis to establish priority sampling areas that maximize the recording of mammal species in the country. Most orders (70 %) show representativeness lower than 50 % in at least 40 % of the departments y 60 % of the studied ecoregions. Also, we found that the temporal coverage in grids of 50 * 50 km tends to below, with an average lower than four sampled years from 1950 to 2019. The complementary analysis shows several areas where sampling would maximize the record of new species at the national level. These areas include tropical forests of the Amazonian region in the limits between Caqueta and Amazonas, the Guyana region, as well as savanna ecosystems from Vichada, Casanare, and Arauca. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron conocer la estructura temporal de un ensamble de anuros del Chaco Serrano en el centro-oeste de Argentina e identificar la influencia de factores climáticos sobre esos parámetros. Se realizaron 14 muestreos desde octubre de 2012 a febrero de 2015, agrupándose en estaciones seca y lluviosa. La abundancia de especies se analizó mediante: 1) abundancias medias, con análisis de varianza factorial y 2) proporciones, como frecuencias de ocurrencia, a partir de pruebas Chi cuadrado. Se realizó un análisis de redundancia relacionando la abundancia, estaciones, y variables ambientales. En ambas estaciones Rhinella arenarum arenarum fue la especie más abundante, seguida por Pleurodema tucumanum y Leptodactylus latrans. Se hallaron diferencias significativas en la abundancia, entre estaciones y sexos, existiendo interacciones significativas entre estos factores. En la estación seca R. arenarum arenarum y L. latrans presentaron diferencias en las proporciones de sexos, mientras que en la estación lluviosa solo P. tucumanum exhibió diferentes frecuencias de ocurrencia entre machos y hembras. La temperatura mínima y las precipitaciones influyeron significativamente en la abundancia de P. tucumanum. No se encontraron influencias climáticas para las otras especies. Teniendo en cuenta el papel funcional de este grupo en varios procesos ecosistémicos como insectívoros, frugívoros y polinizadores, su afectación puede estar causando un impacto negativo en la salud de los ecosistemas naturales. En Colombia, no hay estudios que documenten esta problemática; por tanto, el objetivo fue determinar la presencia de plaguicidas organoclorados en el ensamblaje de murciélagos del bosque húmedo tropical (bh-T) en Córdoba, Colombia. Se evaluó la presencia de organoclorados en hígado y músculo de murciélagos del sector Manso-Tigre, un área protegida con ocupación campesina. La concentración de plaguicidas organoclorados como Aldrin, Dieldrin, Endrin, Heptacloro epóxido, α-BCH, βBCH, γ-BCH, 2,4-DDD, 2,4-DDT, 4,4-DDE y 4,4-DDT, se determinó por cromatografía de gases. Niveles de organoclorados en hígado y músculo presentaron diferencias significativas (P<0,05). Se detectó mayor contenido de organoclorados en hígado en las especies Trachops cirrhosus (α–BCH, γ-BCH, Endrin, pp-DDE), Desmodus rotundus (β-BCH), Micronycteris microtis (Aldrin), Platyrrhinus helleri (Heptacloro) y Phyllostomus hastatus (pp-DDT). En tejido muscular, la concentración de organoclorados fue mayor en Trachops cirrhosus (α-BCH, γ-BCH, Endrin, pp-DDE), Artibeus planirostris (β-BCH), Micronycteris microtis (Aldrin, Heptacloro) y Phyllostomus hastatus (pp-DDT). La contaminación por organoclorados en murciélagos posiblemente está relacionada con el uso de agroquímicos, insecticidas y compuestos fosfatados para uso agrícola. Palacios-Vargas, Gabriela Castaño-Meneses, Leticia Valladares","doi":"10.15446/CALDASIA.V43N1.85130","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15446/CALDASIA.V43N1.85130","url":null,"abstract":"Diversity, richness, and abundance of Collembola communities from the canopy of a montane cloud forest at Hidalgo State, Mexico were studied, through the rainy and drought seasons in 2004 and 2005, using natural piretrine insecticide in three areas: one at the border close to the road, a second one at an intermediate distance, and a third one in the internal and better preserved area. A total of 5267 springtails from eleven families and 22 genera were obtained, of them, 4377 (83 %) belong to the rainy season, and 890 (17 %) at drought. Most abundant families were Hypogasturidae (with cases such as Schoettella distincta and Xenylla sp.), Entomobryidae (Entomobrya sp., Orchesella sp. and Willowsia mexicana), Paronellidae (Salina sp.), and Dicyrtomidae (Dicyrtoma sp.). In the internal area, 1586 (30 %) springtails were collected, the highest abundance was presented at the intermediate area with 2157 (41 %) specimens. The lowest amount was recorded at the border area with 1527 (29 %). Diversity and equitability indexes were calculated and the effect of sampling season and site on the abundance of Collembola were estimated. Today its expansion has spread to the American continent. In this study we describe the effects of the urban environment on the Eurasian collared dove in eastern Spain. The abundance and presence of this dove were analyzed in 46 localities using counting points. Overall, 220-point counts were surveyed between autumn 2015 and late-winter 2016. A hierarchical partitioning analysis was used to identify explanatory variables of different types such as resources, climate and urban structure, and human presence, which may influence the presence and abundance of this species. In the case of presence, the number of town inhabitants, parks, mean minimum temperature, exotic vegetation and schools had a positive association, while pedestrian number and restaurants had a negative association. Abundance was positively related to native vegetation, exotic vegetation, and water, while urban area was negatively associated with it. Exotic vegetation was the only variable that has a positive relation to presence and abundance. Cada entrevista estuvo dividida en cinco secciones: conocimiento biológico de la especie, interacción humano-cocodrilo, ataques por cocodrilos, usos y manejo y percepción general. La información se analizó mediante los porcentajes de respuesta en cada sección. Se aplicaron 30 entrevistas, 25 a hombres y cinco a mujeres. El 40 % de los entrevistados se dedican a la pesca, el 34 % son prestadores de servicios turísticos, el 10 % es comerciante, 7 % empleado de taller mecánico, 3 % acuacultor, 3 % ganadero y 3 % maestra de primaria. Aunque el total de los entrevistados conoce a los cocodrilos, menos del 50 % tiene conocimiento biológico de la especie. Sin embargo, existe interés por los entrevistados en utilizar a la especie como atractivo turístico, lo cual ayudaría a promover la conservación de los cocodrilos en la zona. Aunque la opinión de los entrevistados sobre los cocodrilos es positiva, no se detectó un sentido de apropiación del recurso. En Argentina existen dos géneros Ypypuera e Iviraiva. En el presente trabajo se aportan nuevas localidades para Iviraiva argentina y se revisan los registros históricos de esta especie para Argentina, corrigiendo errores de georreferenciación citados en la bibliografía.
