On the identity and typification of Raimondi's names Culcitium discolor and Cryptochaete andicola (Compositae). Candollea 77: 1–8. In English, English abstract. The invaluable labor of Antonio Raimondi (1824–1890) to study and record the natural history of Peru is well known, however, his contribution to the plant taxonomy has not been so well documented. Raimondi described five new species, which mostly were wrongly ascribed to other botanists or just overlooked. A recent contribution has been addressed to bring into light this issue, however, the adopted taxonomic decisions regarding the Compositae names require some amendments. Herein, we discuss the taxonomic identity of the names Cryptochaete andicola Raimondi and Culcitium discolor Raimondi. Both names are neotypified in order to remove any uncertainty surrounding their application. Culcitium discolor is proposed as a new synonym for Senecio rhizomatus Rusby. Received on April 15, 2021. Candollea 77: 17–51. In English, English and French abstracts. In preparing the treatment of the Apocynaceae for the Flore du Gabon, a number of taxonomic novelties were discovered. Ten new species are here described and illustrated, nine of which occur in Gabon: Baissea atrobrunnea O. Lachenaud, Hunteria maasiorum Jongkind & E. Bidault, Landolphia anthonii Jongkind, L. obovata O. Lachenaud & Jongkind, L. persooniana O. Lachenaud & Jongkind, L. verrucosa Jongkind & O. Lachenaud, Oncinotis gabonica O. Lachenaud, Pleiocarpa robusta O. Lachenaud and Voacanga cornuta Jongkind. Seven of these species are endemic to the country, while Landolphia anthonii and L. obovata are also found in Cameroon. The remaining new species is Tabernaemontana fragrans Jongkind, which occurs from Guinea to Ghana and includes the West African material previously referred to T. psorocarpa (Pierre ex Stapf) Pichon. Additionally, five taxa are resurrected from synonymy, two of which are new combinations: Baissea congensis (R.D. Good) Jongkind and Voacanga lanceolata (Stapf) Jongkind. Finally, a lectotype is designated for the name Baissea concinna. Conservation status assessments are presented for the new species. Received on April 27, 2021. Accepted on December 10, 2021. In English, English abstract. The location of the original material of the austral American species Senecio bipinnatifidus Hook. & Arn. and Senecio websteri Hook. f. has been unknown for decades. In the course of curation labours in G, such material originating from Delessert's herbarium has been located. The name Senecio bipinnatifidus was described from Coquimbo (Chile) based on material collected in 1828 during the Captain Beechey's Expedition; the specimen found in G is designated as the lectotype of this name and the currently accepted Senecio elquiensis Cabrera placed under synonymy. The description of Senecio websteri was based on material collected in 1828 in Staten Island (Argentina) during the voyage to the Southern Atlantic Ocean lead by Captain Foster; the located specimen is considered here as the holotype of the name. A taxonomic revision of Ranunculus sect. Batrachium in Corsica: a morphological and statistical analysis. Candollea 76: 275–292. In French, English and French abstracts. In Corsica, the species of Ranunculus sect. Batrachium DC. are poorly defined due to a lack of sufficient observations and because the group is taxonomically complex. Our study concerns 113 individuals collected around the whole island, and is based on a biometric study of 16 morphological characters and field observations (plant development, intrapopulation variability, ecology). As a result, several species are excluded from the section and the groups Ranunculus peltatus aggr., Ranunculus penicillatus aggr., and Ranunculus trichophyllus Chaix are retained. These groups are statistically discriminated by fruiting pedicel length and multifidous leaf length. The species present on the island are Ranunculus penicillatus (Dumort.) Taxonomic studies on Malagasy Dalbergia (Fabaceae). II. A new name for D. mollis and the reinstatement of D. chermezonii. Candollea 76: 251–257. In English, English and French abstracts. The two varieties of Dalbergia mollis Bosser & R. Rabev., recognised by Bosser & Rabevohitra, have been recently shown on the basis of molecular data to be distinct at species level. This distinction is supported by a number of clear differences in the morphology of the two species that we discuss here in detail. Nomenclatural problems have beset these taxa: the name Dalbergia mollis was established by Bosser and Rabevohitra as a replacement for the later homonym Dalbergia stenocarpa R. Vig., however, the name was superfluous because the name Dalbergia chermezonii R. Vig. was available for this species as circumscribed in Bosser and Rabevohitra's article, but was treated by the authors incorrectly, as a synonym of one of the varieties. We re-establish Dalbergia chermezonii, provide the new name, Dalbergia bemarivensis Phillipson & N. Wilding, as a replacement for Dalbergia stenocarpa R. Vig. and propose an amended description of both species. While the former species occurs only in the southern half of the country, the latter occurs only in the north-west.
