This research is a preliminary work on finding out how a park has been functioned as a public facility to a city. It is aimed to find out Lapangan Puputan Badung service distance range as one of Denpasar city parks. Moreover, it is also to find out the characteristic uses of the park by its users. This case study uses a survey research method. Sample of respondents are chosen using accidental sampling technique with questionnaire as media of data collection. Research findings are analyzed spatially and descriptively as well. Result shows that most samples live within 5 km range from the park. The park has been used mostly for recreation and exercises. People within productive age have been dominated the use of the park. Duration people spend in the park is between 1 – 2 hours, however there is an interesting finding that 15% samples say that they spend 3 – 4 hours in the park. There is also a strong tendency that people uses the park as a group, meaning they might be there with family, relatives, or friends. More than 50% of user respondents are the park frequentvisitors. Pemuda beach is one of tourism destination located in Jimbaran which has a beautiful natural condition and also unique. Otherwise, only few people visit this place due to lack of information that tourists have such as hidden location of the beach and confusing boundaries of the beach from tourism properties. Therefore this research has a purpose to explore a potency that Pemuda beach has and also to investigate it potency and develop it using the 4A+1C concept. The method used was survey with several data collection techniques such as observation, interview, questionnaires and literature study. Then, data analyzed descriptively to explain the site potential which refers to the complete potential study process. Results indicated that the biophysical aspects (i.e. climate, soil, topography, visual description and also vegetation and animals) and socio-cultural aspects of the region have opportunity to be developed as tourist areas. This studi also illustrated that attractions, accessability, amenities, ancilliary and community involvement for Pemuda beach were potencially to be developed. Hence, by understanding the potentials and the possibility to develop the area, this study expected to give more knowledge to the visitor. Urban Forest is a land stretching with dense trees growing in urban areas both on state land and public land, in which is appointed as urban forest by government official authority. One function of the urban forest is to ameliorate microclimate in urban areas so that thermal comfort will increase. The aim of this research is to design urban forest as controller of thermal comfort. This research uses the potential analysis method, site constraints method, amenity method, danger signal method, Thermal Humidity Index (THI), vegetation analysis methods, and linear regression methods. The site of this research is divided into three zone, such as extensive zone, semi intensive zone and intensive zone based on the potential and the constraint of biophysical aspects of the site. I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung park is one of the city parks in Denpasar City that has therapeutic facilities provided to support the activities of the people of Denpasar City. Therapeutic park is an open space specifically designed to meet the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of humans as users. This study aims to evaluate the characteristics and design concepts of a therapeutic garden in I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung park. Methods were used for the research are preparation, inventory, analysis, evaluation and synthesis. The results of this study indicate that the therapeutic garden in the park of I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung was still not in accordance with the design criteria according to experts. Maintenance of Green Open Space (RTH) in an area is very important to do. In the current development of tourism, the existence of a good green space will not only improve the quality of the surrounding environment, but also can increase the sale value of an area if managed effectively and efficiently. The Nusa Dua tourism area managed by PT ITDC is an international tourist destination that has natural resources and good landscape management. RTH (Common Area) maintenance work is the main focus for The Nusa Dua Field Maintenance Unit (UPL). To determine the appropriateness of the standards for The Nusa Dua landscape maintenance work, a study will be conducted on the Effectiveness of Work Capacity of each type of maintenance work in the Common Area (CA) block. The study is limited to the Common Area 1-6 block, Nusa Dharma Island and Peninsula Island. The maintenance work that will be discussed is daily routine work by CA block workers. The stages start from preparation, data collection, analysis, and synthesis. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, and literature studies. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Kumbasari Park is the result of the arrangement of Tukad Badung into a public nongreen open space that is used as a recreation place in the crowd of Denpasar City. This research aimed to determine and analyze visitors' perceptions of the function of Kumbasari Park as a non-green open space, as well as giving an input for the maintainer to improve the quality of Kumbasari Park in the future. The researchmethod was surveyed through site observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of this research indicated that Kumbasari Park mainly functioned as the visual beauty of the city, and also functioned as a non-green open space seen from the socio-cultural, ecological, economic, and architectural functions category.Some things related to Kumbasari Park that need attention was the issues of cleanliness, vandalism, aroma,vegetation, and facilities. Balinese culture is a complex phenomenon based on various beliefs such as Hinduism, Shiva, Buddhism and combined with ancestral traditions therefore that Bali has a special uniqueness of the ceremonial activities performed and the architecture of the building. Over time, the many interactions that enter Bali cause interactions between communities, resulting in friction between cultures which allows acculturation to occur. One of the cultural meetings that took place in Bali was the existence of a Balinese Catholic community in Canggu Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali. Cultural meetings that take place in this village involve Balinese Hindu culture and Catholic traditions. The purpose of this study is to study the picture of cultural encounters that occur in the pattern of Catholic Balinese residences in Canggu Village. Kedungjati train station is one of the oldest stations in Indonesia which was built by NISM (Nederlandsh Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij). It was inaugurated in 21 May 1873. Kedungjati Station is currently expanding its functions. There are some activities that do not support or threatening future concervation goals of the train station, since there a no landscape design concept yet. Therefore, it is necessary to have a conceptual design planning as a start of supporting the Kedungjati train station site conservation an development.This study aims to determine the additional of functions at the Kedungjati Station and share zones of the Kedungjati Station so that it can support preservation of station historic buildings by accommodating current functions. The concept of landscape design at Kedungjati Station is done by collecting biophysical, social, historical and managerial policies on the site, then analyzing and synthesizing. Trees in the streetscape have important function and aesthetic roles. Trees can serve as a beautification and functional complement, unifier, reinforcement, marker and frame of the environment. The shape of the tree canopy is the most prominent. It is not only visually aesthetic, but also has an ecological function. This study aim to evaluate the visual quality of tree canopy shape on Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra that able to fulfil the psychological needs of users by using the aesthetic assessment indicator of Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE). The methods used in this study were survey and data collection techniques were observation to determine the location point that will be used as a simulation as well as a questionnaire to determine the value of SBE and the preferences of users. The results showed that the value of tree canopy aesthetic taken in seven canopy shape simulations, which had the highest SBE value is with globular (rounded) canopy which located in Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra median strip. The medium SBE value was fastigiated canopy, pyramidal (cone) canopy, weeping canopy, picturesque canopy, and spread canopy.
