The DGVSCMG has the advantage in that it can provide three-axis torque using a single unit, and various control methods have been actively investigated. However, previous studies only evaluated control performance via numerical simulations. The authors experimentally evaluate the control performance of the proposed DGVSCMG for practical verification. An experimental DGVSCMG machine was fabricated and three-axis attitude control in the gravity environment of an indoor experiment was achieved. The results are compared with numerical simulation results to confirm the validity of the proposed dynamics model and control system.","PeriodicalId":54419,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences","volume":"155 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134982436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, because of Jupiter’s gravitational perturbations and the J2 and C2,2 terms of the Jovian moons, orbits around these moons are unstable, especially those orbits with high inclinations. This study considers a scenario in which the spacecraft flies at a high altitude equipped with a payload having a small field-of-view angle. The coverage rate is achieved by numerical integration, and the largest coverage rate can be found using the particle swarm optimization method. The results highlight the possibility of obtaining a greater coverage rate, as well as considerable imaging resolution and mission duration by choosing suitable candidate orbits. A station-keeping algorithm is introduced to produce a more accurate estimation of gravitational models that is indexed using the station-keeping cost and estimation accuracy. Based on the five aspects mentioned above, a systematic evaluation of candidate orbits was created for orbit design.","PeriodicalId":54419,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134982433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trim analysis is implemented using a rotorcraft flow solver, rFlow3D. Six target forces and moments, which are the thrust of the coaxial rotor system, the rolling and pitching moments for each upper and lower rotor, and the torque balance for yaw control, are considered as the trim conditions. The blade pitch angles of both upper and lower rotors are adjusted to satisfy the target trim conditions through the trim analysis by being loosely coupled with the CFD solver. Verification of the trim analysis method and validation of the prediction accuracy of aerodynamic performance are performed based on previous experimental and numerical studies in hover and forward flight using the lift-offset conditions. It is shown that the predicted hover performances of the torque-balanced coaxial rotors are in excellent agreement with the experimental data. It is also verified that the lift-offset conditions in forward flight are simulated using this established trim analysis. Furthermore, reasonable agreements with other computational results are indicated.","PeriodicalId":54419,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43906574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, only certain missions have been implemented, primarily because the on-orbit dynamic behavior of such structures cannot be precisely predicted through ground tests. To address this limitation, a scale law between a small- and a full-scale model of large membrane structures is proposed herein. In addition, small or reduced-order models for numerical simulations are proposed to reduce computation costs. However, the development of a small model, which has to be completely identical (geometrically) to the full-scale model, is challenging. Thus, a scale law between the small- and full-scale models of a large gossamer space structure, which is geometrically non-similar to the full-scale model, is also proposed. The scale law is also applied to the spin deployment motion of thin membrane and veri fi ed using numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":54419,"journal":{"name":"Transactions of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68664228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
