Drawing on the research of public opinion in the Russian Empire, the author analyses the study of the Rusin question in the last third of the 19th century and argues that little is known about the reflection of the Rusin question in the Russian public consciousness in the 1890s. He analyses the stance of Fedor Berg's Russky Vestnik on the Rusin question based on the example of Sergei Tatishchev's articles. Tatishchev considered the liberation of Galicia from Austrian domination in theory. The main attention is paid to the evolution of the Russkoe obozrenie- this new type of a conservative journal under Prince Dmitry Tsertelev was skeptical about helping foreign Slavs and avoided extensive comments about Rusins. In the new editorial board headed by Alexander Alexandrov, the key role belonged to the pan-Slavist Sergei Sharapov, whose sympathies for the Poles and Hungarians did not prevent him from raising the question of the Rusin liberation. The new editorial policy in 1893-1894 allowed publishing important materials on the history and current political and ecclesiastical situation in Galicia, Bukovina, and Transcarpathia. The journalists discussed the resettlement of Rusins in the Russian Empire and the activities of Ivan Naumovich and Adolf Dobryansky. The author concludes that Russian conservative journals did not pay enough attention to the Rusin question and its strategic importance.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Russian language acts as a macro-intermediary language, being the official language of the country. The data was collected be means of a sociolinguistic questionnaire, designed by O.A. Kazakevich, and the Marian, Blumenfeld and Kaushanskaya bilingual language questionnaire adapted by the TSU Laboratory of Linguistic Anthropology. The survey was conducted in Tomsk and Tomsk Region (the villages of Eushta and Chernaya Rechka), and Novosibirsk Region – in the areas of compact residence of Tatar-Russian bilinguals. The number of the Tatar-Russian bilinguals interviewed during the survey is 133 people. The socio-linguistic information provided by the respondents makes it possible to distinguish between three groups of factors determining the Tatar and Russian interacting in various periods of their lives. The Tatar-Russian bilinguals adhere to the language they consider to be L1 (Tatar) notwithstanding the fact that it is turning to a heritage language with a restricted sphere of usage. With Russian taking the dominating position in social and professional communication, Tatar becomes the language of interpersonal communication between family members. Nevertheless, the Tatar language seems to play a pivotal role in determining the national identity by bilinguals.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By now, Russian Germans are engulfed in rapid assimilation, with traditional linguistic and cultural dominants being displaced under the influence of the Russian-speaking environment. “Language biography” in a broad sense is understood as the history of interaction with language and its varieties experienced by a person, individual facts of which a person cognitively reconstructs and explicates in speech. The reconstruction of the linguistic biography of the Russian Germans is carried out by analyzing German dialect statements of a narrative and autobiographical nature, which, along with biographical information, explicate the knowledge of ethnic Germans about the history of their own subethnos and ideas about the languages they speak or which they have been in contact during their lives with during their lives. The empirical research material was collected through field practices in Western Siberia – in the region that currently demonstrates the highest number of Russian Germans. The study found that one of the stages of the linguistic biography of the Russian Germans “The War and the post-war years”, covering the period from 1941 to 1955, includes its own specific set of phenomena caused by the autobiographical and historical context. This set is formed by the historical and biographical events, as well as by the components of the linguistic situation and certain linguistic realities relevant for perception. There is also a change in the axiological interpretation of the same linguistic phenomena identified at different stages of linguistic biography.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"286 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since then, it has been legally possible to carry out its own international cooperation. The Prešov self-governing region is one of the eight self-governing regions in Slovakia. It carries out various paradiplomatic activities, from establishing relations with foreign partners at various levels, to the highest level of cooperation – partner regions based on a cooperation agreement. The development of international cooperation of the self-governing region was influenced not only by the political situation, but also by national legislation and national government, as well as the geopolitical situation and integration processes, namely the accession of Slovakia and some neighboring countries to the European Union. The European Union is also linked to the European Structural and Investment Funds and other multifaceted support, such as cross-border cooperation, which encourages self-governing regions to cooperate mutually beneficial on a project basis. In terms of geography, the Prešov self-governing region borders with Poland and Ukraine. Therefore, the neighboring regions of these countries should be logical partners for cooperation, in terms of common history, culture, traditions, and the like. Nevertheless, political instability in Ukraine, but especially the Schengen border and differences in the legal and economic system initially hampered the development of functional cooperation with Ukrainian regions. Before and after Slovakia’s accession to the European Union in 2004, the Prešov self-governing region preferred cooperation with regions from European Union countries. Based on the intensity of cooperation in the form of joint projects and financial benefits, we can state that the most intensive cooperation has taken place and is taking place with the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and the Lesser Poland (Małopolskie) Voivodeship in Poland. In addition to pragmatic alliances with the regions of the old member states of the European Union, there are also historical and cultural alliances with the regions of the Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia and, due to the national and cultural specificity of the northeastern part of the Prešov self-governing region, with Vologda Oblast of the Russian Federation. The article focuses on selected aspects of international cooperation of the Prešov self-governing region and provides a legislative, organizational and management overview of international cooperation of the self-governing region and an overview of partnership cooperation of the Prešov self-governing region.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582048","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Donating to new monasteries and churches, Stephen the Great also provided them with handwritten books, beautifully decorated and written in calligraphic handwriting. In historiography, mainly Romanian, there has long been a stable concept of some handwritten books, undoubtedly created by Moldavian scribes, but mistakenly dated only basing on their scribes' records and considered book monuments of the Stephen the Great epoch. However, such records could be the result of later falsifications aimed at raising the cost of Moldavian-origin manuscripts without indicating the time and place of their creation. It had a completely utilitarian purpose - to increase their sales value on the Russian antique market. The report provides four examples of such falsifications: a parchment copy of the Gospel-tetras (Moscow, State Historical Museum, A.S. Uvarov's collection, No. 91), a copy of the Teachings of Abba Dorotheus with additional articles (Moscow, State Historical Museum, P.I. Shchukin's collection, No. 360), a parchment copy of the Aprakos Apostle (Moscow, State Historical Museum, Museum Collection, No. 3451), a parchment copy of the Gospel-tetras of 1491 (Moscow, State Historical Museum, Museum Collection, No. 3442). A de vizu study of the records in these manuscripts shows a peculiar evolution in the skill of falsifying “imprint data” - the records of the book codes creation allegedly at the behest of Stephen the Great during his government. At the same time, it was discovered that the fake scribal records in two manuscripts - the copy of the Teachings of Abba Dorotheus with additional articles (Moscow, State Historical Museum, P.I. Shchukin's collection, No. 360) and the parchment copy of the Aprakos Apostle (Moscow, State Historical Museum, Museum Collection, No. 3451) - were made by the same unnamed forger. The obtained research results allow correcting the register of handwritten book monuments of the Stephen the Great epoch, generally accepted in Romanian historiography.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He lived in the culture of the borderland, combining various cultural elements and stereotypes, which formed his original philosophical, religious, and socio-political ideas. The study of his work helps to determine the complex processes of the formation of the socio-cultural space and consciousness of the Rusins during the Renaissance. Moreover, understanding these processes provides a broader view of the events of that time in Europe. The originality of Orekhovsky's socio-political views is rooted in the intercuLturaL dominant of his worldview. His socio-political views are determined by the idea of justice as a basic social value. Mentality and national character influence the formation of ideas in the same way as education, ethnocultural self-awareness, and religion. Orekhovsky's socio-political views advanced those of other prominent representatives of the Enlightenment, in particular, his concept of equality of all under the law. His works provide a most deep and comprehensive picture of general trends in the development of cultural, philosophical, and socio-political thought of that time in the interaction of various aspects of human activity and the assimilation of cultures.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author analyses concepts-mythologems, which constitute the “core” of cosmogonic representations in both cases, and their lexemes-nominates in Slavic myths and Vernadsky's scientific, autobiographical, and epistolary texts. The analysis involves the linguistic and conceptual meanings of the lexical units “myth”, “cosmogony”, “human”, “universe”, “life” and their associative-derivative correlates as nominees of authentic and author's reinterpreted ideas about “creation of the world”,“evolution of all living things” The analysis has shown that though the classical Slavic myth in the scientific discourse retains separate mythologemes as part of the cosmogonic narrative (cosmic scale, the power of the mind as an active principle, the interaction of nature and human, aspiration to the future), it goes through a substantial and methodological rethinking. An authentic myth is interpreted by Vernadsky with reference to both external circumstances (a special historical mission of natural sciences in explaining evolutionary and historical patterns), and the specificity of Vernadsky's own understanding of the universe structure and development (an intuitive-rationalistic way of knowing, faith in the triumph of human reason, scientific labour). The analysis contributes to the study of the general Slavic picture of the world and Vernadsky's personal concept sphere related to the cosmogonic ideas, as well as to undersyanding the mechanisms of discursive conditioning of concept formation and diachronic interaction of different discourses.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67581444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author's attention to the Rusin question is closely connected with the analysis of the West-Polesian ethnopolitical movement in Belarus in the late 1980s - first half of the 1990s. The author has selected and analysed various materials (manifestos of political parties, journalism,analytical notes) to determine what motivated various public forces in Belarus (representatives of the academic community, activists of the West-Polesian and Ukrainian ethno-political movements in Belarus, proRussian political forces) to address the Rusin problem. He has also identified the main mechanisms used by those forces to represent the Rusin question. The main inrerest in the Rusin question came on part of the pro-Russian party Slavic Sobor Belaya Rus, since its activists wanted to use the Rusin factor to construct a negative image of the ruling elites of post-Soviet states by accusing them of discriminatory national-cultural policies. The author concludes that the Rusin question was poorly represented in the public and political discourse of Belarus. The peak interest to it was in 1991-1993. The attention to the problem decreased as the West-Polesian movement faded. Now, the Rusin question is discussed by Belarusian historians (K.V. Shevchenko, O.G. Kazak, A.P. Salkov, etc.) and is virtually absent in the Belarus media.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67582108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particular attention is paid to the analysis of historical realities and the problems Father Vitaly had to face during the implementation of this project. In the early 20th century, several factors influenced the agrarian question in the Volhynian Governorate. The price of the fertile lands of this region was constantly growing, and the Volhynian peasants could not compete with the expansion of the non-native population (Jews, Poles, Germans). Having no alternative and suffering from a lack of land, the peasants were forced to borrow money either at an extremely high percentage from the Jews, or on very difficult terms from the landowners. To alleviate the situation of the Volhynian peasantry, Vitaly (Maksimenko) created a credit institution to give loans to the needy at a lower interest rate than those offered by usurers and landowners. Those who own excess funds could get a high interest rate on deposits. Having concentrated in his hands the editorial of the Pochaev Lavra and the leadership of the Pochaev Department of the Union of the Russian People, Archimandrite Vitaliy (Maksimenko) achieved the main goal of alleviating the situation of land-poor peasants. Despite the difficulties and obstacles that arose from both ideological opponents and local authorities, managed to create a large-scale banking institution with an extensive network of branches.","PeriodicalId":54120,"journal":{"name":"Rusin","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67580752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
