In reality, many production processes require the carrying out of many activities grouped into phases and interconnected with each other. For this reason, modeling a production process as a network system in which its sub-parts are differently interconnected certainly represents a modeling closer to reality. The NDEA approach born within the DEA methodology has developed several models to measure the relative efficiency of network systems such as independent models, or connected models or relational models. The latter differs from the other two in that it allows you to measure the relative efficiency of the entire process and its parts once the operations between the parts of the system have been considered. In this paper, as well as modeling a production process with four stages with shared variables, we propose a relational NDEA model under different preference systems in the distribution of resources between sub-processes to measure their relative efficiency. The proposed NDEA model is in the multiplicative version. We will use non-real data to solve the model. Our conclusions are that 1) a four-stage production process can represent numerous real processes, 2) the proposed NDEA model can therefore be used for multiple different applications and 3) the system of preferences on the distribution of resources among subs processes influences the measurement of relative efficiency both for the whole process and for its sub-processes.","PeriodicalId":54064,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Biometrics","volume":"61 1","pages":"35"},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2020-09-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80463533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on the exploratory qualitative research approach, specifically designed to identify students and lecturers' perceptions towards blended learning process, content, and ease of use. The case study data were collected through structured interviews with 40 undergraduate students who were enrolled in different courses and from 10 lecturers from the faculty of business at Al-Balqa Applied University. In comparison to the traditional face-to-face (F2F) approach, both students and lecturers found the blended learning method more flexible and preferred it over F2F in many instances. The study concludes that in general, the lectures/students’ attitudes towards BL were positive in terms of the domain process, and content. Moreover, they believe that blended learning applications are, hardly, challenging to be applied sometimes. The study also presents that, in order for graduates to meet the challenges of entering the workforce of the 21st century, blended learning should be used as a new learning strategy. Findings of this study will be beneficial for policy makers to formulate appropriate and effective policy to assist the higher education institutions. Also this study is important for university students and lecturers, as it makes them very aware of the significance of blended learning and transferable skills in the workplace. This study provides fresh insights into the context of the benefits of blended learning in Middle East, particularly in Jordan. Moreover, the higher learning institution will be capable to determine the blended learning satisfaction level amongst students and lecturers.","PeriodicalId":54064,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Biometrics","volume":"102 1","pages":"14"},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2020-09-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73803435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivated by the effectiveness of the models, this paper applies the methodology on the Kuwaiti Stock Market excluding banking and insurance companies. Results demonstrated that Altman has less predictive power in the context of industrial and real estate companies while Beneish has a strong predictive power to uncover possible manipulation in earnings or fraudulent reporting in the tested companies as confirmed with an ex-post review of the companies and news sources. We recommend a recalibration of the Altman model according to industry in addition to recommending that financial analysts and interested parties use both models.","PeriodicalId":54064,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Biometrics","volume":"30 1","pages":"70"},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2020-09-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77182425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even when the benefits are established, its indirect and delayed impact on business results make it difficult to assess its value. Available literature on how insights triggered by Business Intelligence are transformed into profitable business learning is vague and fragmented. Hence, the main objective of this study was to establish the influence of complementary resources on the relationship between Business Intelligence capability and firm performance. The study used interdisciplinary theories to achieve the research objective, namely, Information systems capability theory and organisational learning. The study was performed using a mixed methods research methodology and cross-sectional approach. Data was collected from 64 public listed companies in Kenya. Findings indicated that complementary resources have a positive and significant impact on the relationship between Business Intelligence capability and performance. The study contributed to theory by building a framework for business intelligence assessment, including factors that significantly lead to improved performance. The results also provide new insights into the existing literature and suggest directions for future research with implications for academia, policymakers and management.","PeriodicalId":54064,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Biometrics","volume":"11 1","pages":"66"},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2020-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82245442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materiality and relevance principles are today fundamental to manage information and are discriminating for information acceptance. This research questions about how these principles are present in the Pacioli’ treatise. Seven fragments from the Tractatus, within which traces of relevance and materiality can be found, are extracted and analyzed under the IASB theoretical framework and their historical background. \u0000\u0000This paper contributes to the literature by investigating the principles through a historical approach, that is selected to explore the topic and to argue about the possible causes for which it is possible to find early traces of relevance and materiality in Pacioli's work. The banking industry of Bangladesh has witnessed tremendous growth since the country’s independence. Need-based training and development of manpower have become prerequisites for the continuous growth of this sector. The prominent government banks conduct numerous training programs for the fresh recruits and the existing staff as well. A sample of 205 bank personnel who received training from the state-owned banks was surveyed through a structured questionnaire. The responses of the employees were analyzed using the Exploratory Factor Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis techniques. This paper finds that the development of overall skills, reduction of stress level, development of technical skills, need-based training programs, long-run productivity, and quality of the instructors are the significant factors contributing to the effectiveness of training programs of government banks in Bangladesh. The finding of this study implies that the bank managers should emphasize more on the reduction of stress level, development of technical skills, need-based training programs, long-run productivity, and quality of the instructors that directly affect the effectiveness of the training programs run by the government-owned commercial banks in Bangladesh.","PeriodicalId":54064,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Biometrics","volume":"101 1","pages":"57"},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2020-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85908634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
