Fedor Ivanov was the ideologist of the Old Believers, condemned at the Moscow Cathedral in the 1666–1667 years and executed in Pustozersk in 1682 together with Archpriest Avvakum, priest Lazar, and monk Epiphanius. A twofold argument is offered that the text in question does not correspond either to Fyodor Ivanov’s manner of constructing the statement or to his understanding of the theological topics. The approach applied is based on phenomenological philosophy and philological hermeneutics. The main linguistic methods are description, comparison and contrast, and contextual analysis. First, a text fragment with an internal rhyme was selected and compared with other documents of Fedor Ivanov in terms of internal rhyme. The arithmetic mean of the number of components “from comma to comma” in the text analyzed has been revealed not to be characteristic of the writing style of the Old Believers’ ideologue. Second, the interpretation of the Antichrist in the text concerned was compared with that in the “Epistle to All Orthodox about Antichrist.” A discrepancy was revealed that cannot result from the author’s changing the target setting. Finally, a conclusion is made that the essay “On the Knowledge of Antichrist Prelest” was not created by Fedor Ivanov.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, researchers agree that frustrative is associated with the expression of negative emotions resulting from the disruption of the normal course of events. This paper explores three verbal constructions of the Tuvan language expressing a frustrative meaning. The first component is expressed in two constructions by the present participle form in =ar. The second component, in one of the three constructions concerned, is the multifunctional function word čüve“thing,” in the other construction it is the kay particle. The third construction is a participial analytical construction with an auxiliary verb tur= “stand,” “be” acquires a frustrative semantics in certain contexts. All these constructions are grammaticalized due to their established semantics and regular character. Two of them have complete personal-numerical paradigms, except for the participial form with the function word čüve ‘thing’ (3 person singular and plural is absent). These constructions differ in the shades and intensity of the expressed meaning. The construction with the function word čüve has a common and universal character. It can express the whole spectrum of negative emotions, from a feeling of mild discontent or annoyance to strong regret. The semantics of the construction with the kay particle is complicated by a shade of very strong regret, remorse of the speaker about the events that happened or did not happen. A common component of the semantics of these constructions expresses negative emotions of the speaker about the actions committed or not committed in the past.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Khakass people held the belief that the power of good wishes spoken aloud could bring a sense of well-being into one’s life. Of great value for the study are the records of the ritual folklore made by N. F. Katanov. These records are accompanied by a complete ethnographic description of the performed rituals, attributes used in the rituals, actions performed by shamans, and their spells addressed to the deities and spiritual masters of the terrain. The rite is regarded as the interaction of word and action, ritual and verbal text. This work analyzes the texts of the algas published in Volume 9 of “Samples of folk literature of the Turkic tribes” compiled by V. V. Radlov (1907). N. F. Katanov recorded about 70 unique cult texts. Of particular interest are the examples of cult poetry, such as good wishes, shamanic incantations of ancestral spirits, worship of Mother Fire, texts related to the veneration of the master spirits of nature and terrain, and curses. The analysis has revealed two main thematic variants of the algas genre in the ritual poetry of the Khakass, with the first one including the texts functioning as calls and requests for help and assistance and the second one representing good wishes, blessings, and parting words.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numerous correspondences allow us to show the crucial role of the novel quotations in the biography composition. Detailed analysis of the text of the first chapter of “Zhizn’ Bunina” reveals all the sources of the biography: the autobiographical synopsis written by Bunin, sketches preserved in the archive after the writer’s death, oral stories by Bunin and his relatives, preserved in the memory of Muromtseva-Bunina, letters of the young writer published in the USSR, extremely rare extended autobiographical notes, the writer’s diaries, and, finally, the novel “The Life of Arseniev”. The autobiographical outline and the novel are recognized as major sources. Referring to the text of the novel, the biography “recodes” the novel narrative into a biographical one. The compilation structure of “Zhizn’ Bunina” is examined: the insertions of Muromtseva-Bunina’s “own text” are found to have an exclusively connecting character for different types of “other texts.” However, using the novel as a source for Bunin’s biography has resulted in a number of mistakes concerning the writer’s adolescent years. This paper provides a typology of mistakes and corrects the most important of them, as some of them continue to affect the scholarly narrative and biographical publications.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The semantic structures of the associative fields (AF) of abstract nouns provide relevant, experimentally obtained data representing the psychological realia. The associative-verbal profiles can be regarded as statistical models of the psychological meanings behind the sound bodies of the analyzed lexemes. This study examines the associative fields of two abstract lexemes operating as explicators of dominating ethnopolitical attitudes in the contexts of interethnic relations to trace the semantic aspects of westernization of the young Russian students’ consciousness in the current diachrony (within the last 40–50 years). The analysis covers the latest databases obtained in the Asian regions (Siberia and the Far East) of the Russian Federation: SIBAS 1 (2008–2013) and SIBAS 2 (2014–2021), along with earlier materials: RAS (1988–1997). Psycholinguistic techniques allow us to trace the ways of embedding semantic components of ethnopolitical concepts coming from outside into the image of the world of the Russian language personality. The entries of newly coined or recently borrowed words in the explanatory dictionaries often fail to reflect the emerging lexicosemantic variants of their meanings. Hence, lexicographers can apply the knowledge obtained with the psycholinguistic toolkit as a complementary technique when describing the emerging meanings of recently borrowed words. The psychoglossic and vector analysis of the associative verbal fields allows the researcher to evaluate the dynamics and psychologically relevant trends in their meaning formation.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work under consideration describes a wide range of linguistic phenomena reflected in the monuments of the written Mari language of the late 17th and 18th centuries. Special attention is paid to identifying all existing monuments of writing of that period, in which the Mari words and coherent texts are recorded. A detailed and holistic description of the chronologically earliest written monuments is presented, supplemented by a historical-linguistic and paleographic interpretation of lexical materials that are of particular interest for linguistic typology and objective reconstruction of the history of the Mari language. Every description of the phenomenon is followed by an extensive illustrative material. This review provides a brief summary of every chapter, highlighting the dominant topics that are of special significance not only for Mari linguistics but also for Finno-Ugric linguistics.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conference was dedicated to the 198th anniversary of Pushkin’s arrival in northern exile and the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great. The speakers paid special attention to interdisciplinary problems: philosophy of culture and literature, Pushkin as a historiographer, pedigree of the poet. Of great interest to the audience was a new project, the “The dictionary of popular expressions” prepared on the basis of the novel “Eugene Onegin”. Presented at the Readings was an analysis of the composition and structure of the Pushkin Library, stored at the Institute of Russian Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences. New archival documents have been put on public display dealing with the history of how the texts of Pushkin’s critical-publicist prose were prepared for publication in Soviet academic edition. Of great relevance are the ideas discussed at the Readings regarding the development of modern Pushkin studies: Peter the Great and the reflection of his era in culture and literature, Pushkin texts as a lexicographic source, problems of publishing the poet’s works, the reception of his work in contemporary literature.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"223 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the stylizations of Dmitry Minaev, Viktor Burenin, Vasily Kurochkin, and Pyotr Veinberg, the author of the paper depicts the role-game strategies and tactics aimed at carnival rethinking of everyday and political reality. The analy- sis of the poem “My pseudonym” reveals that Iskra became a trademark, a brand, with its sig- nificance substantially exceeding that of a single name. Of particular illustrative value are the cases when a pseudonym was passed from one editor to another with no independent value. It is found that the satires and stylizations of “Iskra,” as well as most other democratic publi- cations, are characterized by a conscious secondary form, the use of mnemonic matrices; the neglect of the author’s name in favor of the “party” name; metonymic transfers, the pictures of provincial disorder, particular evidence of general misfortune; metaphorical transfers, car- nival rethinking (Bakhtin) of the canonical imperial history; the creation of an alternative lit- erary project. The combination of these properties turns the field of satirical weeklies into a “collective” Don Quixote, proteanly associated with book culture and yet neglecting condi- tional but false prescriptions. The parodies considered combine baroque with postmodernist aesthetics, making these texts open for further interpretations and commentaries.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67577830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper is to verify the concepts used in the research literature to describe the Russian language during the Soviet era, with the aim to identify the term “Soviet-type Russian language.” Several concepts are in use: “Soviet language,” “totalitarian language,” “lingua Sovetica,” “newspeak,” “Linguistic Sovietology.” The analysis reveals that several characteristics can be identified to indicate the formation of a specific version of the Russian language in the Soviet era, one to be broadly referred to as the “Soviet-type Russian language.” It is when linguistic signals can identify the process of ideological indoctrination of native speakers. First, “an interpreter” should explain the mean- ing of a new word, with the interpretation imposed “from above” and striving to become the only authoritative one. Second, the axiological bipolarity imposed from the outside becomes dominant in the semantic meaning of a word. Third, the “Soviet-type Russian language” is characterized by a conscious rejection of the linguistic heritage of the previous period. “Sovi- et-type Russian language” is one of the most vivid examples of the internal dynamic language development coinciding with the political and social breakdown of society, causing an incredible acceleration of the natural processes of language change. Thus, the extent and direction of linguistic transformations conditioned the development of a language of a new quality.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67577896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sadur. The study reveals how the author represents the image of Moscow in the late period of her creativity. The space of Moscow is found to have different levels in the play. First, Moscow, a direct place of action, is both an actual city and its artistic representation. Second, Moscow serves as the space of the characters’ consciousness. Third, Moscow represents the space of the author’s consciousness and symbolization. Sadur is seen to deconstruct traditional cultural ideas about Moscow. Moscow is transformed from a holistic space of life in close connection with the cultural and historical memory into an atomic space of unsupported existence, a total substitution and simulation. “The Pilot” recreates the game reality generated by the dream of a living city. The specifics of spatial images allow drawing a conclusion about the image of the world and the author’s worldview. According to Sadur, the modern reality is “flawed:” the ties between people existing outside the home are broken. However, the idea is put forward that the main thing for the author is not to declare the inferiority of the modern world but to long for an ideal past and refer to the individual myth created on its basis. Therefore, for Sadur, it is not postmodern deconstruction that comes to the fore but the modernist construction of a new myth about the world.","PeriodicalId":53939,"journal":{"name":"Sibirskii Filologicheskii Zhurnal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67578010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
