The results of experimental laboratory and full-scale in situ studies of the horizontal protective shield arrangement are discussed, and the method and laboratory equipment to conduct such research are developed. Moreover, the different embodiments of the shielding apparatus are studied using bentonite, sodium hydrosilicate in combination with calcium chloride, and a waterproofing soft-elastic injection resin. The analytical and graphic dependencies of the changes of the shield filtration coefficient from different injectable formulations are presented. In conclusion, the most economically efficient technological modes of horizontal shield arrangement are the usage of soft-elastic waterproofing injection resin with drilling the wells at a 0.3 m distance from each other.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"36-49"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47704681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dominant mechanism that governs sand behavior is dilatancy, the volume change during shearing. Owing to dilatancy, dense sand samples attain greater strength during shearing compared to loose samples. Investigation of the sand behavior shows that the final strength during shearing, for the sand samples starting from the same initial state of stress, tends to be independent of the initial void ratio. This final state is called the critical state, or steady state, and can be well described by the critical state line. The main goal of this research is to investigate the behavior of clean sand from Jerovec under triaxial shearing and to derive its critical state line. The behavior of sand is investigated for different initial states (initial densities and state of stress) and for different drainage conditions (consolidated isotropically drained (CID) test and consolidated isotropically undrained (CIU) test). The test results are presented along with all the laboratory tests performed on Jerovec sand (grain-size distribution, specific gravity, minimum and maximum void ratio). The critical state line is compared with those of other sands available in the literature.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"50-58"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43531047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous studies on the development of physical models of bending reinforced concrete element fatigue resistance, cyclic effect of lateral forces, and methods of calculation, are important and appropriate owing to certain features and the essential specificity of the mentioned loading type. These primarily include the nonlinearity of deformation, damage accumulation in the form of fatigue microand macro-cracks, and exhausting destruction of construction materials. In this paper, key expressions determining the endurance limits of concrete, longitudinal reinforcement, and anchoring longitudinal reinforcement, which contribute to endurance throughout the entire construction, are considered. Establishing a link between stresses in the elements and deformations in the element under conditions of cyclic loading action is of equal importance because of the presence of cyclic stressinduced creep deformation.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"59-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46085996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a unique, humid Mediterranean area with a number of important and protected wetland habitats and is a ornithological, ichthyology, and botanical reserve. By measuring the physico-chemical parameters at 20 locations, the water quality was determined with special attention to the occurrence of salinity. Increasing salinity of the Neretva water was found, owing to inflow reduction groundwater of the river Trebišnjica and the uncontrolled deepening of the Neretva riverbed. During a one-year monitoring period, field tests were conducted of significant maritime impacts on water quality. The physical parameters were the measured temperature, conductivity, electrical resistance, salinity, chemical quantity of dissolved oxygen (expressed as a percentage, mg L-1), the oxygen pressure in water, and the pH value. The values of the above parameters were measured in the field with WTW multiparameter instruments.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"75-84"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49525808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The construction sector therefore qualifies as a suitable area for analyzing issues associated with these costs. The aim of this study is to find out whether company size affects personnel cost management under various circumstances. Four research hypotheses focus on the relationships among and the relative importance of personnel costs, use of standards, range of employee benefits offered, and economic actions taken when faced with an economic crisis. The evaluation of hypotheses is supported by using the chi-square test of independence with the aim of confirming or rejecting the statistical significance of relationships between the examined categorical variables. Results have confirmed a significant effect of company size. Several research implications and suggested future research directions are also presented in the conclusion of this paper.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"13-22"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47649116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the roots of the concept date back to the mid-1970s, some original expectations are still missing from its implementation. There has been a time gap between its theoretical and practical implementations. While the simultaneous development of information technologies is one reason for the implementation delay, other reasons remain unclear. This paper analyzes the gaps between theoretical and practical BIM application, as well as the legislation regarding BIM implementation in four countries (in alphabetical order: Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Slovenia). The paper additionally presents a survey of current practical BIM applications as well as general and theoretical feedback from construction projects that implemented BIM.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"23-35"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.13167/2017.15.3","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43620356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effects of polymer and porous components (expanded perlite sand and carbonate filler – limestone-shell rock) in cement-lime light plaster on the physico-mechanical properties of the mixtures under equal workability conditions of mixtures are analyzed based on experimental-statistical modeling. The results of the physico-mechanical and operational experiments confirm the rationality of using porous fillers and additives to improve certain specific properties of the final product. The so-called Monte-Carlo method is implemented for determining an optimal composition of multicomponent cement-lime light plaster, based on multivariate statistical modeling and iterative random scanning of property fields. According to the results of the computational experiment, a composition that reduces the number of expensive mixture components and improves the physical and mechanical characteristics of the resulting composition is selected.","PeriodicalId":53887,"journal":{"name":"Electronic Journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek-e-GFOS","volume":"8 1","pages":"31-36"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2017-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45810059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
