The search was carried out on SPORTDiscus with Full Text, MEDLINE Complete, EMBASE, Web of Science and PubMed. Articles, theses and dissertations in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French were included, without restriction on the year and type of study. The search found 14,099 studies, and 62 were considered eligible. Twenty-one instruments for children without disabilities were identified, and these include tasks related to swimming itself and use the quality of task execution as an evaluation criterion. Fifteen instruments were also identified for children with disabilities. These include tasks related to adaptation to the aquatic environment and use the level of independence in executing the task as an evaluation criterion. To be competent in the aquatic environment, a child must know how to perform tasks of different aquatic sports and be able to apply them in environments with different characteristics. In this regard, the assessment instruments found were limited. Thus, discussing the concept of aquatic competence to qualify swimming teaching programs is urgent.\u0000Keywords: teaching; aquatic competence; evaluation.","PeriodicalId":53589,"journal":{"name":"Motricidade","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47203308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Training through virtual reality has been shown to be effective in improving this condition. This study aims to analyse the effects of the Kinect Adventures! games in postural control of people with PD. Ten individuals diagnosed with idiopathic PD, in stages I to III of the Hoehn & Yahr scale, aged between 48 and 73 years, were selected. Fourteen training sessions of one hour each, twice a week, were performed. Individuals were evaluated pre, post-intervention and 30 days after the last session of intervention by a force platform that measured the oscillation area (COP) and velocity (VOS) of the centre of pressure in ten different sensory conditions and the Limits of Stability (LOS). LOS showed a statistically significant increase immediately after the training the 14 sessions, as were observed and there were no significant changes in COP and VOS immediately after the intervention or 30 days after the end of training. The results of this study indicate that the training with Kinect Adventures! Games improve the postural control of people with PD, by increasing the LOS. Twelve oral documents from athletes representing Brazil in Paralympic Games were consulted. After successive readings, two thematic axes were identified: Sports financing and Social and sports recognition. The information was analyzed through thematic coding (Flick, 2009). Results showed social representations of professional and amateur athletes. The lack of financial investment can make it difficult to stay in Paralympic sport. Although Paralympic sports financing has been more generous in recent years, there may be modalities with greater investments linked to the possibilities of achievements and to the management bodies. Another social representation identified is related to the recognition that society, the media, and peers with disabilities start to attribute to Paralympic athletes. Athletes often become benchmarks in the sports field for successors or may suffer from a lack of recognition.\u0000Keywords: Para-Athletes, Disabled Persons, Sports, Psychology Social.","PeriodicalId":53589,"journal":{"name":"Motricidade","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46625185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A cross-sectional study was conducted with 575 subjects aged 11-17 years from Criciuma, SC, Brazil. The 9-minute walk/run test was used to assess aerobic fitness. Sociodemographic data and daily habits were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Anthropometric evaluation was also performed to calculate anthropometric indicators of obesity. The Chi-square test and the binary logistic regression were used. The prevalence of low aerobic fitness in boys aged 11-13 years was 46.0% and in girls 40.5% (p<0.05), while in boys aged 14-17 years, the prevalence was 59.6% and in girls 46.6 % (p<0.05). Boys aged 11-13 (OR: 5.04; 95% CI: 1.93 – 13.17) and those aged 14-17 years (OR:3.78; 95% CI: 1.90 – 7.52) and girls aged 11-13 years (OR: 3.62; 95% CI: 1.24 – 10.52) from private schools were about four times more likely of having low aerobic fitness compared to those from public schools. Girls aged 11-13 years (OR: 2.40; 95% CI: 1.04 – 5.54) with inadequate sleep were more likely to have low aerobic fitness than those with adequate sleep. Our objective was to identify the assessment protocols and the skin temperature behavior of practitioners of endurance sports. A systematic review was carried out following the PRISMA recommendations between the 1st and the 31st of March 2020, at MEDLINE, LILACS, SCOPUS, SPORT Discus, CINAHL, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane, and Scielo, using combinations with 11 descriptors for “Thermography” and 6 descriptors for “Endurance training”. It was identified 24 different regions of interest (ROIs) evaluated region in endurance sports. The acclimatization time was respected in 75% of the selected studies, and the thermal images were acquired predominantly in three moments: before the test, immediately after the test, and 10 minutes after the test. It was observed that Tskin decreased in the initial moments and increased after exercise. It can be concluded that the ROIs used were mostly the specific muscle recruited in each modality, with emphasis on the muscle groups of the lower limbs, and after this initial decrease in temperature, the thermal response is mainly dependent on the duration and intensity of exercise.\u0000Keywords: endurance training, thermography, cycling, running.","PeriodicalId":53589,"journal":{"name":"Motricidade","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46187008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Personalized training is a practice developed nationally by thousands of professionals and relatively common in various contexts, where gyms and health clubs stand out in particular. Considering the reduced national production of literature on this topic and assuming the importance and relevance of issuing updated recommendations that derive from concrete limitations observed in the context of practice, this article has the main objective of issuing guidelines and operational recommendations that allow for gauging and regulation of the work implemented in this context, aiming at a critical reflection and improvement of the service provided. The recommendations issued also seek, in addition to the support associated with the performance of the professional practice, to help to clarify what should constitute and delimit the provision of this service in the eyes of a practitioner, pointing out a path that aims to standardize behaviors and actions ethically and professionally recommended, which can and should be assumed in the provision of personalized training, and allow to create a clearer, more objective, and delimited social image of this individualized service.\u0000 Keywords: Gymnasiums, Health Clubs, Personal Training, Individual Training, Physical Exercise.","PeriodicalId":53589,"journal":{"name":"Motricidade","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46980301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interest in the measurement of psychomotor intervention effectiveness is growing, but research with children/youth is still scarce. This article aims to analyze the effects of a psychomotor intervention on psychomotor and adaptive skills of six participants from Mozambique, between 6 and 13 years, 2 females and 4 males, with developmental disorders, trying to see its impact in their quality of life. All were institutionalized. Both Portuguese versions of the Adaptive Behavior Scale, Children’s Personal Outcomes Scale, and Psychomotor Battery were applied in three different moments. Wilcoxon test was applied. Baseline results allowed the design of a 4-month psychomotor program adjusted to participants. The final evaluation gave some clues about the effectiveness of the intervention, and the retention assessment provided the analysis of the importance of such intervention. Results of the final evaluation showed significant differences in some adaptive domains, indicating improvements maintained even after the program ended. Body awareness and gross motor skills were the psychomotor domains that increased positively and without changes in retention assessment. These improvements had an impact on quality of life global index. Suggestions to practice and research are presented.\u0000Keywords: Adaptation, Developmental Disabilities, Independent Living, Psychomotor Therapy, Psychomotor Program.","PeriodicalId":53589,"journal":{"name":"Motricidade","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47516477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experimental research was carried out with eleven elderly women (66.5± 4.8 years) active and with medication-controlled hypertension in the city of Tabuleiro do Norte, Ceara, Brazil. The elderly women were randomly submitted to a RE session with 60% of 1 RM with slow movement speed or traditional. Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, mean blood pressure, and double product were measured before exercise and after sessions for one hour. The post-exercise analysis showed a more marked reduction in systolic blood pressure, heart rate, mean blood pressure, and double product values (p 0.05). Differences were found in the rating of perceived exertion (p= 0.007). Accurate measurement of habit is crucial to help researchers develop and apply a theoretical habit model with an empirically valid measure. Thus, the aim of the present study was to test the validity and reliability of the Self-Report Behavior Automaticity Index in a Portuguese sample of exercisers. Data were collected from two independent samples, with 590 adults (women= 311; men= 279). A confirmatory factor analysis of the four-item measure model of the Self-Report Behavior Automaticity Index and analysis of invariance between two independent samples were performed. Additionally, a mediation model was tested in order to analyze the mediating role of the weekly frequency of physical exercise between past experience and habit. The measurement model of the Self-Report Behavior Automaticity Index demonstrated an acceptable fit in each of the samples, and the composite reliability coefficients were adequate. The measurement model proved to be invariant between samples, thus adding greater support to its validity to assess usual behavior. Exercise frequency mediates the relationship between experience and habit development, adding evidence to the habit theory.","PeriodicalId":53589,"journal":{"name":"Motricidade","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47744955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
