Since the dual phase steel is extensively used in the outer body parts of the automotive vehicles, their dynamic strength and plastic strain energy absorption during the crash are essential. Dynamic strength of the dual phase steel is examined using the pendulum impact hammer tester machine. Spread of the plastic strain during the crash is an important factor for the energy absorption to passive safety, which is examined using the local hardness measurement using the Vickers hardness and local indentation yield strength is calculated using the cylindrical indenter and obtained force-depth results are analysed using the Hencky theory for the plane strain indentation. Further, tested samples are observed using the scanning electron microscopy for the fracture response after the static and dynamic tests. ARTICLE HISTORY Received: 03.04.2019. Accepted: 31.05.2019. Factors that significantly affect the power losses are, principally, types of materials of meshed gears and geometry of worm pair, type and viscosity of lubricating oils, input rotational speed, worm shape, loading, temperature, etc. Results of experimental tests of worm gearing efficiency are also presented in the paper. Tests were conducted according to planned experiment schedule on specialized device AT200, where single-stage worm gearboxes with transmission ratio i=18 has been used. During the test stage, oils of different viscosities (ISOVG 220, ISOVG 460 and ISOVG 680) have been used and their impact on efficiency was monitored. The values of efficiency level are determined at different input rotational speeds (circumferential velocity) and output torques (loads).","PeriodicalId":53430,"journal":{"name":"Applied Engineering Letters","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88725433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reverse engineering (RE), reengineering (ReE) and mold design have been incorporated to infuse agile characteristics in the proposed design and development process. The integration of RE and ReE presented in this paper accelerate the design process and provide information necessary for complete injection molding process of plastic parts. The purpose is to create a new object geometrically similar to the existing object. The new object must have better mechanical properties and more favorable geometry from the standpoint of mold ability. This paper also, describes a methodology for quality geometry check of the manufactured part that is need for verified the used integrated CAD/CAE technologies. ARTICLE HISTORY Received: 16.01.2019.
