Stunting, or being too short for one’s age, is defined as below -2 standard deviations from the median height-for-age z-score. Stunting can directly be affected by infectious disease and incomplete immunization such as basic measles immunization. Objectives: This research aims to determine and analyze the correlation between giving basic measles immunization and nutritional status, especially the incidence of stunting on toddlers. Methods: This research was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional approach with non-probability sampling. The samples were 134 toddlers who were 12-36 months, were not sick, and have the KIA/KMS book. Basic measles immunization and nutritional status were dependent variables whereas stunting prevalence was an independent variable. Data analysis used the Spearman’s Rho correlation test with α = 0.05. Results: The results showed the majority of toddlers experienced nutritional status problems especially stunting (51.5%) and the majority of toddlers had received basic measles immunization (67.9%). Based on the Spearman’s Rho statistical test, obtained p-value = 0.003 (p-value < 0.05) with correlation coefficient (r) = -0.251. Conclusions: There is a significant correlation between basic measles immunization and nutritional status, especially in the incidence of stunting. This finding suggests that the local government should initiate an innovative program of health education focusing on knowledge and prevent the increasing stunting such as by collaborating with the nursing profession which can act as a good educator and caregiver.","PeriodicalId":53389,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135398847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High motivation of the hospital in implementing Islamic health services has not been followed by clinics which are under Muhammadiyah charity businesses. Objectives: This study aimed to describe Islamic values at the Muhammadiyah Clinics in Lamongan Regency. Methods: The researchers used a descriptive method with a survey approach. All nurses at eleven Muhammadiyah Clinics in Lamongan Regency were selected to be the sample using purposive sampling. Seventy-one health workers filled out a 21-item-questionnaire on the application of Islamic values which had been modified by the researchers. The data were analysed by using descriptive analysis. Results: The application of Islamic values by health workers in the Muhammadiyah clinics was categorized poor (42.3%), and good (35.2%). The analysis of instrument items showed a low mean value in guiding prayer activities before surgery (1.67), reminding the spiritual guidance officers to make visits to the room (1.69), and giving prayer guidance to patients by the spiritual guidance officers (1.79). A high mean value was obtained for having prayer facilities/mosque (4.00), employees who prayed 5 times a day (3.96), and employees who recited bismillah for every medication and medical procedure (3.94). Conclusions: The role of the spiritual guidance officers at the clinic is very important to help fulfil spiritual needs and increase patient comfort. Clinic facilities that support the formation of an Islamic atmosphere need to be maintained, including monitoring employee attitudes and behaviour in daily life in accordance with Islamic teachings. The application of Islamic values can be an attraction for people in choosing a place to get health services.","PeriodicalId":53389,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135398554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objectives: This study examines the effects of family nursing virtual learning on family nursing practices among nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bandung, Indonesia. Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental study of a single group with pre-test and post-test measurements. One hundred sixty-two students who took family nursing subjects participated in this study. The family nursing virtual learning lasted 14 weeks, consisting of lectures, case studies, research tasks, and practicum. The questionnaire consisted of practical appraisal and nurse-family relationship subscales. It was measured using a ten-item instrument with response formats from 1 to 5 to indicate high to low. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyse the effect. Results: The ages of students ranged from 19-23 years, with a median of 20 (IQR = 0), and most were female (90.1%). Results showed significant differences between the pre-test and post-test with total scores of family nursing practice of (p < 0.00). Two subscales of family nursing practice also showed substantial differences in the post-test after 14 weeks of family nursing virtual learning: the practical appraisal and nurse-family relationship (p < 0.00).
