They required all related knowledge and skills to perform their roles in this emerging world of technology. Personal competencies are essential skills requirement seek by employer in selecting their employees. Personal competencies of students are considered greatly important for the effectiveness of learning process. It is also important skills for students to acquire for their future career. This concept paper aims to investigate the personal competencies of future information professionals. The nine (9) domains of personal competencies (critical thinking, interaction skills, relationships skills, leadership skills, presentation skills, media literacy skills, and written skills) in this paper was determined based on the selected literature on communication and personal competencies. This paper would bring benefit to all future information professional as it can view future graduate preparedness to enter the industry.","PeriodicalId":53122,"journal":{"name":"Acta Informatica Malaysia","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88437179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The understanding of crowd has main impact of the analysis how much they support the system is the key factor of the analysis. The surveillance and security prospects are the main feature for crowd that can make system easy and gives better result. The visual sensors that have been widely used are wireless sensor network, computer vision, smart camera, sensor fusion and few more; and the non-visual sensors are regarding the call, IEEE 802, 11 signals measurement, Smart Evactrack, Social Network and Bluetooth etc. This comparative study identified the different analysis of crowd behavior and after analysis we show which technique is better to another one. The smart devices are used now days for surveillance and gives better result in crowd behavior analysis.","PeriodicalId":53122,"journal":{"name":"Acta Informatica Malaysia","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89885327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have seen that many criminal cases like risk of forgery or theft. All biometric traits have their own advantages and disadvantages. Like in long term, a person’s fingerprint may be damaged due to environment, aging or ethnicity; face recognition has medium accuracy; iris recognition is costly affair. To overcome all the problems, the solution is vein recognition. The most important point about vein recognition system is that it works on living persons only as the infrared radiation is absorbed by hemoglobin present in blood of living persons. The skin integrity does not affect the accuracy or readability of finger vein recognition. There are lots of benefits to include vein recognition in biometric traits in which some are, users are not required to get in physical contact with the device. This technology can also be used for medical purposes like children that are below the age of 12 have very smooth vein which sometime cannot be detected by doctors to inject injection which can be detected by NIR cameras. In this paper we have presented the various techniques of palm vein recognition that are applied in today’s scenari o, Need and Scope of vein recognition system, its implementation challenges, its application, Merit and Demerit and finally conclusion.","PeriodicalId":53122,"journal":{"name":"Acta Informatica Malaysia","volume":"203 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73018277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mixed-method research design was implemented including administration of survey, interviews and observation. The five dimensions of enhancing the innovative open and distance digital platform to support a blended-mode dissemination of knowledge were examined, including demographic, digital technology availability, Open Education Resources in public libraries, learning culture and corporate support. Findings show that there are significant differences among factors stated above which will upgrade the potential of village youths technical and livelihood knowledge to be relevant and competitive in building human capital. The use of a blended digital education platform in public libraries could be beneficial to village folks in upgrading their knowledge and skills. This model could be used as framework of practice for enhancement of life skills among developing nations as well as under-developed countries in line with SEAMEO’s Education Agenda to promote lifelong learning and 21st century skills. If such technology-enhanced skills development programme could be implemented from earlier stages in educational settings in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Malaysian Education Blueprint, more skilled workers could be produced to raise the performance in the workplace and contribute to the worldwide improvement of human capital. Legal and policy issues on digital facilities will be discussed as to advocate lawful and ethical application of this initiative. Future direction of studies to develop a comprehensive structural model will also be deliberated.","PeriodicalId":53122,"journal":{"name":"Acta Informatica Malaysia","volume":"24 4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85947304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this case, progressively online reviews have an essential role in online platforms to influence decision making for travelers. The link between online reviews and travelers' decision making is examined through qualitative online content analysis to integrate themes derived from online reviews. The content analysis applied to a deeper understanding of online reviews that extract Airbnb data to analyze guest reviews in Superhost Bandung. The results of this study reveal the value of co-reation practices that can be utilized for decision making, according to the characteristics of the identified themes, such as expressing feelings, evaluating location and accommodation, recommending, and thanking.","PeriodicalId":53122,"journal":{"name":"Acta Informatica Malaysia","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83460840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
