This article is derived from the thesis “Influence of sports training on somatotype, adiposity distribution, body mass index and waist - hip ratio of people with Down syndrome”, aimed to determine the impact of systematic physical exercise on body mass index and waist - hip ratio of people with Down syndrome; It was a non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive-comparative, cross-sectional and causal correlational study; with a sample of 193 subjects with Down syndrome, aged between 12 and 36 years; classifying them according to their gender and weekly hours dedicated to motor exercise. It was found that as the hours of weekly training increase, the body mass index decreases and, as for the waist - hip ratio, no significant differences were evidenced. In conclusion, it can be affirmed that the systematized practice of motor exercise can modify the body mass index of people with Down syndrome, favouring the decrease of fat tissue, but not their waist - hip ratio. Ante esta realidad, se ha efectuado una revisión de la literatura con el propósito de desentrañar el grado en que la actividad física puede mitigar el riesgo cardiovascular y fortalecer la CVRS en pacientes con ECV. Mediante una estrategia de búsqueda rigurosa, se identificaron 60 artículos relevantes, procediendo a la exclusión de aquellos que no cumplían con los criterios de inclusión definidos. Profile of the Mood States and Quality of Life questionnaires were sent via apps through social media in electronic forms, and distributed throughout the country, in the shape of a snowball. To compare the typical characteristics of exercise at home in social isolation in the domains of mood state and quality of life, the independent t-test and Mann-Whitney were used. Then, to verify the influence of home training characteristics in isolation in specific groups of athletes (with and without cerebral palsy/with and without assistance) on the domains of mood state and quality of life, an analysis of covariance. No relevant differences exist between mood states and quality of life among the different demographic information analyzed. However, when controlling for comparisons through training covariates and the frequency used, it was found that the perception of quality of life under the \"physical\" domain presents significant differences among the analysis groups. The frequency of training in question may be enhanced by support covariates and the type of disability, significantly influencing their perceptions of quality of life.\u0000Keywords: Paralympic Sport; People with Disabilities; Cerebral Palsy; Sports Psychology; COVID-19.","PeriodicalId":52896,"journal":{"name":"Retos de la Direccion","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80958467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
