Unfortunately, such situations often result in serious injuries and even the deaths of employees. In most cases, the casualties are people who are badly trained and inexperienced, with a short employment history. One solution to avoid these tragedies is to support workers employed in this industry with training applications. This paper presents a description of a research and training platform for operating portable chainsaws using virtual reality (VR) technology. The platform simulates phenomena occurring while working with a chainsaw, such as falling tree parts, the occurrence of chips and characteristic sound effects. The study used the HTC Vive Pro set and a dummy chainsaw with an electric module, thanks to which the application lets you control a virtual chainsaw using a real life device tracked by a system for mapping objects in space. For the purpose of this work, a series of 32 tests were conducted with 16 subjects and conclusions were drawn on the basis of test reports and surveys, in which the subjects expressed their opinions about the course of events in the platform application.\u0000\u0000

For this purpose, on the one hand, it is possible to improve and create new technical solutions supporting the restoration of the proper functioning of critical infrastructure facilities, such \u0000as remotely controlled mobile robots for example. Typically, the ignition pressure value is assumed to be 3 - 5 MPa. Pressure measurements were made for two types of ammunition, differing in the construction of the ignition system. The results of measurements indicate that the value of the ignition pressure is twice as high as usually assumed. The aim of the research was to check the possibilities of determining the limit values of the flexibility of the multi-wire springs for the NR-30 gun, as well as to verify the obtained research results using those from range and static tests (after long compression). While verifying the method (selected measurements of 4 springs with varying degrees of wear), static and dynamic compression tests were performed on a spring mounted on a gun on specially prepared testing stations. The description of the data measurement and acquisition method applied should be considered an important element of the description of a testing station. Based on the obtained research results, it has been inferred that, during the striker’s backward movement, wave phenomena likely transpire in the spring. Force value fluctuations taking place during the spring’s movement are visible in the obtained diagrams. The dynamic and static test results (on springs with varying degrees of wear) allowed the authors to evaluate the impact of a multi-wire spring’s wear on the value of its force of interaction with the automation elements of an NR-30. Based on the data obtained, the assumptions for the method of evaluating multi-wire springs’ durability and using it to evaluate the suitability of a given spring type for use according to its technical state, have been elaborated. The final determination of the limit values of the springs’ parameters requires further research using a station with an ammunition belt encumbrance emulator, as well as emulation of the overloads of the kinematic arrangement of the gun while airborne.\u0000\u0000

(ZMT, Tarnów, Poland), the manufacturer of the UKM 2000 family of 7.62 mm machine guns, has extensive experience producing and factory-repairing those guns, and collect the comments and observations of the weapon’s users. Taking them into consideration, ZMT has decided to modify the UKM 2000 family. The decision coincided with the stance of the MoD’s Armament Inspectorate, which suggested implementing such a modification, providing a detailed determination of its range (“Modification Guidelines”). First, the changes were introduced in the infantry version (UKM 2000P), then in the onboard version (UKM 2000C). The core aims of the modification were: increasing the weapon’s reliability and durability, improving the technology and ergonomics, and minimising the number of parts and groups that require individual fitting. Initially, the changes were supposed to encompass only a modest number of parts and groups; however, during the design works, the necessity to introduce deep modifications to the most important rifle elements, i.e. the bolt, the slide, the pin, the gas regulator and the feeding mechanism, appeared. During the research on the 7.62 mm modified UKM 2000P machine guns, properties such as the weapon’s operation in low temperatures, as well as its resistance to dynamic interaction with dust and sand, salt fog, and elevated humidity were investigated. ZMT placed the first batch of the machine guns under monitored operation, and the observations made during use so far clearly confirm the soundness and range of the changes introduced. It should be kept in mind, however, that it is not possible to develop a single, universal weapon configuration that would meet the needs of all users. Direct exchange of feedback between the User and the Manufacturer allows the structure to be optimised and guarantees development in the field in question.\u0000\u0000
