The article is focused on identifying potential criteria for assessing the network of charging points. It was assumed that the determination of the value of these criteria should be possible by using publicly available data sources in Poland, e.g. those that were made available by the Central Statistical Office of Poland, Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography or as part of Urban Atlas or OpenStreetMap projects. Finally, a set of evaluation criteria was proposed, which were classified to six categories and covered the aspects of: cost, the share of high power charging stations, spatial accessibility as well as the integration of electric car charger network with the public transport system. The set was used to assess the network of charging stations in Poznan for the present state and three forecasting variants developed by the authors, which meet the requirements of the Act on electromobility and alternative fuels.","PeriodicalId":52611,"journal":{"name":"Prace Komisji Geografii Komunikacji PTG","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70997259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The EU defines public transport as one of the services of “general economic interest”, which means that its organization should be based on the principles of solidarity and equal access for all citizens of the state and its regions. The study of transport accessibility of 13 district centres in the peripheral and economically underdeveloped Prešov administrative region (Slovakia) from the municipalities of their immediate hinterlands expressed by the number of direct bus and train connections is aimed at identifying the spatial differentiation of individual intraregional accessibilities. The realization of the research pursues the objective,to point out by the comparison of the theoretical and real values of direct transport connections, to the possible existence of discrepancies in the public transport services of individual municipalities in relation to their higher hierarchical district’s centre.","PeriodicalId":52611,"journal":{"name":"Prace Komisji Geografii Komunikacji PTG","volume":"75 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70996668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study conducted by the research team is of pioneer nature in the transport services market and opens new possibilities for carriers in the scope of analyzing the expectations of service users and adapting to them. The study was conducted using the author’s questionnaire on a nationwide sample n = 353 (segment “young adults” 18-29 years). This article focuses on the segment of young people in literature included in the group of young adults who, because of continuing education outside their place of residence, taking up a job or for sightseeing reasons, often travel and are considered to be an important target group for railway carriers. The purpose of the article is to show and discuss preferences and behaviors of transport users and to identify their transport needs, with particular emphasis on price promotions. Especially for young people, who largely do not have a regular income, price promotions are an important factor during selection a means of transport. Knowledge about this will allow carriers to create a competitive offer and build lasting relationships with clients.","PeriodicalId":52611,"journal":{"name":"Prace Komisji Geografii Komunikacji PTG","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70996893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a tram is one of the best means of passenger transportation it is essential to enhance its operation. So the aim of this article is to consider improving the energy performance of the electric traction drive of urban electric transport by improving its electrical equipment. The analysis of traction systems of electric trams which are in operation in the cities of Ukraine is carried out, their disadvantages are displayed. A new structure and control algorithms for the electric traction drive system with pulse converters of tram cars are proposed. The structure makes it possible to reduce the number of semiconductor devices in pulse converters and improve the energy performance of the electric traction drive.It allows to reverse tram trajectory without using contact equipment,to provide a smooth field weakening of traction motors, limit the voltage of the traction motors at the nominal level, provide redundancy of the equipment in pulse converters, as well as ensure electric braking. A modernized field attenuation circuit using a DC/DC converter for traction electric motors of sequential excitation is suggested. The results of research are given. The comparative characteristics of various traction drive systems in terms of energy indicators are provided.","PeriodicalId":52611,"journal":{"name":"Prace Komisji Geografii Komunikacji PTG","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70997063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They result from various determinants that form the background for these transformations. A substantial number of these conditions is destructive, in particular: an increase in the number of passenger cars in the world, significant pollution from passenger car traffic and no decrease in this emission despite a growing number of low-emission cars and problems with congestion. However, some of these determinants are constructive, particularly: noting by the authorities that the quality of life in the city is essential, changes in thinking about transport in the city – especially two ground-breaking publications – Jane Jacobs’s book The Death and Life of Great American Cities and Buchanan’s report, as well as a decrease in the number of passenger cars in large cities of developed countries. In this context, urban transport transformations aiming to improve the quality of life are presented in terms of: street planning, traffic flow, slowing down and reducing car traffic, bicycle transportation, Personal Mobility Devices transportation, as well as the rank, integration, accessibility and attractiveness of public transport.","PeriodicalId":52611,"journal":{"name":"Prace Komisji Geografii Komunikacji PTG","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70997326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
