One day, the electronic bill of lading will become the only document used in maritime transport and its paper form will be merely part of history. Continuing to use the paper bill of lading negatively affects foreign trade and maritime transport in Jordan in light of the global trend towards the full use of electronic bills of lading. This study adopted the descriptive analytical approach by analyzing the legal provisions related to dealing with the electronic bills of lading in the Jordanian legislation and comparing them with the rules of Hamburg 1978 and Rotterdam 2008. The study is divided into two sections: the concept of the electronic bill of lading, and the stages of the electronic bill of lading in terms of its issuance, trading, and expiration. The results of the study revealed the possibility of dealing with the electronic bills of lading in Jordan in light of the provisions of Jordanian legislation and the rules of Hamburg 1978. The EU through Directive 2008/99EC by setting a minimum mandatory threshold for environmental protection through criminal law aims to unify the rules between member states, in order for environmental protection to be effective, convincing, and proportionate to the whole community. In this respect, Kosovo has obligations to the acquis communautaire arising from the Copenhagen Criteria and the SAA. The paper focuses on addressing the two main objectives, namely the analysis of the Compliance between the criminal legal framework for environmental protection and the standards contained in the Directive in terms of a criminal offense, sanction, and liability of legal persons, as well as identifying gaps in the legal framework. criminal protection for the environment. The paper uses two main methods, namely literature review and qualitative methods of legal and comparative analysis. Based on the exam ple of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries the paper explores the role of trade unions in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. The analytical cut concerns the issues of the environmental component. The issue is considered from the perspective of the international environmental agreements as a tool to achieve such goals (Paris Climate Agreement, UNFCCC, Aarhus Convention). Since the results of the study showed that in the post-Soviet countries labor unions are deprived of a wide range of rights in the field of policy development, certain ways of development, and increasing their role in the context of adjustment to the SDGs in the field of ecology are proposed. Vinković","doi":"10.22598/iele.2022.9.1.1","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22598/iele.2022.9.1.1","url":null,"abstract":"The refusal of vaccination by health professionals, as a scientifically proven method of protection against disease, in a time of COVID 19 is deeply worrying because they are the ones who should explain to patients the characteristics of the vaccine and its benefits. The WHO believes that the introduction of compulsory vaccination can be counterproductive and that other non-coercive measures should be employed beforehand to achieve high vaccination coverage. States should therefore strike an appropriate balance between the autonomy and the right to self-determination of health professionals and the principle that their actions must not harm patients (the principle of non-maleficence) or must contribute to patient well-being (the principle of beneficence). This paper aims to analyze the response of the Republic of Croatia to this exceptional public health crisis. The paper is divided into two main parts. The first part of the paper explores the doctrinal, legal, and social issues surrounding the model of voluntary vaccination and the model of compulsory vaccination concerning health professionals. Special emphasis is placed on reasons for vaccine refusal among healthcare professionals. The second part of the paper deals with the issues of (compulsory) vaccination of health professionals through the labor law perspective in the Republic of Croatia, but also the practices of EU Member States that have introduced vaccination as an obligation of employees. The authors focused their research on socio-legal and qualitative analysis, as well as methodological pluralism. © 2022 University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business.
