Despite advances in\u0000 medicine, many children and parents struggle with vision difficulties such as\u0000 strabismus, large refractive errors, and various congenital defects that cause\u0000 inadequate visual development and amblyopia. Teachers and educators often lack\u0000 opportunities to receive training on vision difficulties. The paper is intended for\u0000 teaching staff in educational institutions and non-teaching staff who work with the\u0000 visually impaired. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the most common causes of\u0000 visual impairment and to show the world how children with different visual impairments\u0000 visually experience it in order to better understand their problems and the way they\u0000 experience and perceive their environment. How does a healthy child wearing glasses see\u0000 the world? What does the world look like to a child with strabismus or a child with a\u0000 severe visual impairment? These are just some of the questions that the paper will\u0000 answer as a contribution to the development of special competencies in educators and\u0000 teachers for better inclusion of children with visual impairments in the educational\u0000 system. In our daily work, we have noticed that visually impaired people and people with\u0000 strabismus are more likely to encounter certain prejudices regarding their physical\u0000 appearance. Every prejudice stems from inadequate knowledge of the matter, and we hope\u0000 that this paper can contribute to an adequate perception of this issue. The research systematizes an overview of the key\u0000 recommendations in the area of institutional frameworks that ensure the implementation\u0000 of the National Strategy for equalization of opportunities for persons with\u0000 disabilities. In the field of education, the possibility of including persons with\u0000 disabilities in adult education programmes for occupations for which there are needs in\u0000 the labour market is important. Investing in the development of better conditions that\u0000 contribute to facilitating integration into educational programmes for adults with\u0000 disabilities has been identified as a key element in improving the position of people\u0000 with disabilities. Following the above, their views on current measures and possible\u0000 improvements in the conditions for more efficient and faster inclusion of persons with\u0000 disabilities in the labour market were explored. In the research, a focus group was used\u0000 in which people with disabilities participated, were registered in the CES records as\u0000 unemployed, and were actively looking for work. The first part analyses the concept of\u0000 inclusiveness in lifelong learning and the application of this concept in educational\u0000 policies. The emphasis is on the educational obstacles faced by persons with\u0000 disabilities and the opportunities that the concept of lifelong learning provides for\u0000 their inclusion in various forms of education and learning. In doing so, dispositional,\u0000 situational and institutional obstacles for persons with disabilities and different\u0000 dimensions of inclusivity are distinguished. The second part of the article analyses the\u0000 validity of this conceptual framework for describing the educational inclusion of\u0000 persons with disabilities in Croatia. The difficulties in ensuring the coherence of the\u0000 policy towards persons with disabilities and the importance of the time dimension in the\u0000 implementation of these policies are described. Special attention is paid to the final\u0000 results of inclusive policies. This refers to the lower inclusion of persons with\u0000 disabilities, their earlier school leaving, and lower overall educational achievements\u0000 compared to the general population. U ovom su radu prikazane osnovne\u0000 informacije o znanstvenom projektu „Modeli odgovora na odgojno-obrazovne potrebe djece\u0000 izložene riziku socijalne isključenosti u ustanovama RPOO“ koji financira Hrvatska\u0000 zaklada za znanost.
