The research study was conducted using experimental design. The sample size of the study was one hundred and sixty-two (162). Oncology patients were obtained through non-Probabilistic. The study used Non probabilistic and consecutive sampling which included all the subjects that were available. The one sixty-two (162) samples of multitransfused oncology patients who met the inclusion criteria were screened to determine the presence of alloantibodies. Out of 162 screened samples 152 had no alloantibodies, 10 were positive on antibody screening test resulting to Positivity rate of 10/162(6%). The findings of the identification of the type of alloantibodies in samples of multitransfused oncology patients, were as follows: out of ten (10) samples that had alloantibodies, five (5) samples had anti E, 5/10(50%), three (3) sample had anti K that is 3/10(30%) anti C, and anti D each had one alloantibody 1/10(10%). Alloimmunization are attributed to lack of proper management following potential sensitization events before and after blood transfusions. There is need to improve on the current practices of blood grouping and cross match in most of our Kenyan hospitals.","PeriodicalId":518345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Recent Innovations in Medicine and Clinical Research","volume":"56 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140527994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was conducted from December 2018 to May 2019 on patients admitted to labour room, KGH. Out of 3548 deliveries, patients who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in our study. The data was collected in a predesigned proforma. Results: Incidence of meconium stained amniotic fluid (MSAF) was 8.82%(313), Out of which 46.9%(147) required SNCU admission. 25.85%(38) developed meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) among who got admitted, in which 8.84%(13) had neonatal mortality. There was significant association between grades of meconium and MAS, babies with thick meconium were prone to develop MAS. Postdated pregnancy, preeclampsia were significant factors associated with MSAF. Conclusion: MSAF alone is not associated with an adverse outcome. 53%(166) babies remained asymptomatic. There is increased chance of operative delivery in presence of meconium especially when associated with abnormal CTG. Increasing grades of MSL and abnormal CTG are associated with poor outcome.","PeriodicalId":518345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Recent Innovations in Medicine and Clinical Research","volume":"148 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140527553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prognosis for chronic neck pain is generally poor, and the associated disability seems to be more persistent than low back pain. 66% of the population will suffer from neck pain at some point during their lifetime. More than one-third of people affected still have low grade symptoms or recurrences more than one year after treatment, often leading to chronic pain. More than one-third of those affected also show signs of mild pain or recurrence after 12 months of management, usually contributing to chronic pain. Different manual therapy methods and strategies exist; a common aspect is the use of hands during therapy which involves both manipulation and mobilization. Aim: To determine the recent research evidences for the effectiveness of manual therapy in cervical spondylitis patients. Method: This review includes randomized controlled trails (RCTs). Searching done by Google Scholar, PubMed and Pedro from 2010 to 2019. We used terms like-Neck pain, mobilization, manipulation, exercise, cervical spondylitis and physiotherapy management. Result: Present outcomes shows that manual therapy treatment is effective technique in reducing pain and increasing Range of motion (ROM) in CS patients without adverse effects. The search resulted in 100 articles but only 10 articles were selected for the study based on criteria. Conclusion: Manual therapy program designed for neck pain treatment can be more effective at increasing neck ROM and reducing pain.","PeriodicalId":518345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Recent Innovations in Medicine and Clinical Research","volume":"78 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140527990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is to analyze the obstetric admissions to IRCU. Outcome in these patients is assessed. Risk stratification was done. Methods: This is a prospective study conducted over period of 1year, from January 2019-December 2019, King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam. All pregnant women and up to 42 days of postpartum who were admitted to IRCU were included. It is a tertiary care hospital with IRCU facilities not only to its own patients but also to the referrals from peripheries and other districts. Results: There were 142 obstetric admissions to IRCU accounting for 1.8% of total deliveries. 52.8% were in the age group of 20-25 years. 46.47% were in their first pregnancy. A majority of patients were admitted during postpartum period (69.71%). The leading obstetric indications for ICU admission were hypertensive disorders of pregnancy accounts for 44.3%. 12.67% of cases underwent emergency hysterectomy and 5.63% underwent emergency laparotomy. 57.04% need mechanical ventilation, 56.33 % need inotropic support. 57.7 % of individuals improved after treatment. In this study mortality was 42% of which 95% were referred from peripheries and surrounding districts in a severe morbid condition. Among the 142 obstetric admission to IRCU 85.9% were referrals. Conclusion: Common risk factors for ICU admissions are hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and obstetric hemorrhage. Other risk factors are severe anemia, heart disease, sepsis. It conclude that close follow up, early referrals of high risk pregnancies and optimal stabilization of their condition, safe transport, better education, before interventions improved the outcome of these patients.","PeriodicalId":518345,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Recent Innovations in Medicine and Clinical Research","volume":"191 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140527699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
