It also analyzes organizational and legal management aspects of providing surgical care to wounded soldiers on the example of the activities run at the Mechnikov Regional Hospital of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council (or the Mechnikov Hospital for short) in Dnipro, Ukraine. The research object was selected due to the fact that this specialized civilian medical institution is the closest to the front line and is not directly subordinated to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. At the regional administration level, this medical institution belongs to the local self-government body, namely the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, and is financed by the local budget. During the period from 2014 until present, the medical staff of the hospital have saved the lives of tens of thousands of servicemen. Therefore, this experience is unique in the field of public relations in the system of civil health care institutions and requires the study of management and medical rescue techniques.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45838800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One out of three all orthopedic patients are affected by knee osteoarthritis. Multiple studies demonstrate that this condition occurs most frequently in working-age population. Having studied the results of surgical treatment in 324 gonarthrosis patients, we have elaborated a differentiated approach to knee arthroplasties. A unicondylar arthroplasty is expedient for young patients; if flexion contracture of a knee exceeds 15°, we recommend a PLC non-preserving prosthesis; if a lesion of a tibial process exceeds 10 mm, we used a prosthesis with a tibial extensor; for total instability of knee, we used hinge-type constrained modifications of prostheses.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42229932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study into the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) expression in the gum and oral fluid biopsy material in children with UCTD is of both scientific and practical value in terms of diagnostic identification, disease course assessment, and the design of individualized treatment modes for periodontal diseases. In order to determine the specific features of MMP-2, MMP-8, MMP-9 expression, our study involved 61 children with periodontal diseases and various degrees of UCTD, as well as 27 healthy children with intact periodontium. The study implied analyzing the participants’ immune-histochemical studies of gum biopsy material and oral fluid enzyme immunoassay results. The enzyme immunoassay of MMP concentration in the oral fluid revealed that children with a prominent degree of UCTD, had their MMP-2, MMP-8, MMP-9 expression (medians 5.49 ng/ml, 478.4 ng/ml, 921.6 ng/ml, respectively) exceeding significantly the concentration of these enzymes in children whose degree of UCTD could be described as mild (medians 2.76 ng/ml, 317.1 ng/ml, 584.3 ng/ml, respectively). An analysis of the MMP expression in the gum biopsy material showed that MMP-2 is not a reliable indicator to offer data required to assess the clinical status of periodontal tissues, since it is detected both in healthy children with intact periodontium and in children with periodontal disease and the UCTD syndrome. MMP-8 and MMP-9 can provide an objective description of the active phase of periodontium inflammation, which means these enzymes should be considered as reliable biomarkers of inflammation activity at the disease manifestation stage. Biochemical and immunohistochemical studies of MMP-2, MMP-8, MMP-9 the expression in oral fluid and gum biopsy material in children with UCTD syndrome should be used to identify the periodontium structural and functional status, the nature of inflammation, to detect potential risk groups vulnerable to the development of periodontal diseases, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of various schemes for comprehensive treatment of periodontal issues.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42044999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was performed on 26 laboratory rabbits - females of the New Zealand White breed, divided into two groups. The evaluation of the regeneration of the burr hole after covering the defect with a bioceramic implant was performed by the method - (BMD) X-ray densitometry on days 7, 40, 210 after surgery. As a result of the study, there was a tight fixation of the implant in the area of the bone tissue defect without its dislocation. There were no signs of osteoporosis and osteolysis in the surrounding bone tissues. And on the 210th day after the operation, according to densitometric data, the formation of dense bone tissue was observed. The use of a bioceramic implant makes it possible to immediately close large bone defects and to stimulate the formation of dense bone structures around them.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46650556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Medical workers are a risk group in terms of emotional burnout and other emotional disorders, since they directly interact with patients’ various somatic profiles, as well as a high professional responsibility. The formation and strengthening of resilience in medical personnel is an important task, since resilience is a psychological factor that enables people to successfully cope with stressful situations and reduces internal tension. The study was conducted by clinical psychologists at the Astrakhan State Medical University Astrakhan, Russia) in October 2022. It included clinical residents of the specialties Obstetrics and Gynecology (30 people) and Surgery (28 people). Our study has found that young medical residents have rather high levels of hardiness. This may be attributed to the age of the respondents, since they are at the first stages of their professional activities. A high indicator of \"Engagement\" was recorded for clinical residents, reflecting their determination and resilience. However, indicators of hardiness and satisfaction in the specialty \"Obstetrics and Gynecology\" were significantly lower than in the specialty \"Surgery\". On the basis of the study, a program of psychological support was developed facilitating stress prevention and formation of coping resources and self-regulation in young professionals.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45856057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Observations: A 32-week neonate admitted to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Patient was suspected to have myotonic dystrophy, which was confirmed with DMPK PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and Southern Blot Analysis. Ocular evaluation revealed iris transillumination, bilateral hazy cornea, intraocular pressure (IOP) of 18mmHg for right eye and 22mmHg for left eye, and the centre cornea thickness (CCT) was 862 microns and 887 microns for right and left eye, respectively. The thick and hazy corneas were suggestive of Fuchs’ endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD). Conclusions: This may be the first reported case of FECD in neonate with DM1. Knowledge that FECD may present in neonates with DM1 allows for earlier identification and treatment, resulting in decreased vision loss from FECD.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48376611","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, ophthalmological, immunological, neurophysiological, neuropsychological and radiological studies were performed. We present a clinical example of early meningovascular neurosyphilis against the backdrop of right hemispheric cerebrovascular accident (CVA). Difficult diagnosing due to the bias of data on CVA, the peculiarities of the disease course and the cumulative neuroimaging data allow the authors to assume a clear dependence of meningovascular syphilis of the nervous system on constitutional variations and/or anomalies of the arteries of the circle of Willis. Constitutional variations and/or anomalies in the development of human cerebral arteries are considered as an additional risk factor for CVA syndrome during infectious processes of the brain with other things being equal.","PeriodicalId":51770,"journal":{"name":"Archiv EuroMedica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47873973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results obtained confirm a wide range of aggressive damaging effects of SARS-CoV-2 in the development of multiple organ failure against the background of COVID-19 and the involvement of the red bone marrow in the pathological process. The authors supplemented information about the mechanisms of hypoxia in COVID-19, which is not only a consequence of damage to the respiratory epithelium, but also the result of damage to erythrocyte differons both at the level of red bone marrow and in peripheral blood.
