The various local bifurcation types common to one-dimensional maps each have their own specific conditions that must be fulfilled. An object divides into two when it bifurcates. After a bifurcation, a family of one-parameter functions retains its stable or cyclic point structure. A bifurcation in the iterative process happens when a parameter is altered, causing a qualitative change in behavior. The phenomena of local splitting can be induced by adjusting just one parameter. Both the norm form of the transcritical split and the stability of the saddle node are highlighted. As with supercritical and subcritical bifurcations, the stability of the pitchfork bifurcation is assessed, as is its norm form.\u0000Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 108-123

Rice husk ash (RHA), plentifully available in many rice-producing countries, can be used as a building material. This study mainly tries to investigate the effect of RHA on compaction features of sandy soil classified as A-2-4 or SM for soil stabilization. Nominal to a maximal dosage of RHA addition in the soil was considered for the experiments by the standard Proctor compaction tests. The result revealed that by increasing the amount of RHA in the soil, MDD was reduced and OMC increased significantly. These disorders contribute significantly to the worldwide health burden. Despite a rising number of individuals seeking treatment for eating disorders, there is limited study regarding the effectiveness of therapy in preventive measures of the risk of eating disorders. Therefore, this research aims to study the effectiveness of cognitive behavior group therapy (CBGT) in reducing the risk of eating disorders among university students. Using a pretest-posttest with a control group design. The adapted Bangla version of the Eating Attitude Test (EAT-26) was utilized and socio-demographic data for all participants at the baseline and post-intervention. Thirty-six participants i.e., university students with a risk of eating disorders were chosen by purposive sampling. Participants were randomly assigned into two groups (intervention and non-intervention groups). However, the experimental (intervention) group (n = 18) received cognitive behavioral group therapy, and the control also known as the non-interventional group (n = 18) did not. To analyze the obtained data descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, and paired sample t-test were performed. Findings showed that receiving CBGT sessions significantly reduced eating disorder risk in the intervention group. However, there is no difference in the risk of eating disorders in the pre-test and post-test of the non-intervention group was observed. This study's findings emphasize the importance and effectiveness of cognitive behavior group therapy in addressing and mitigating the risk of eating disorders among university students.\u0000Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 124−135

Many important features of the original 1-dimensional cubic map have survived, and their behavior is being studied here. Attracting, repelling, and neutral fixed points are analyzed. The use of the map as an aid in the study of period doubling bifurcation has been depicted. On the other hand, map can display an exorbitance of additional behaviors. It can be seen that nearby spots on trajectories move closer together and further apart as time progresses. These are the paths that never seem to settle into regular orbits or stop moving altogether. Modifying the starting conditions even slightly can shift the course of evolution. In reality, patterns drive chaotic systems despite their seemingly nonlinear and unpredictable behavior. Exploring the chaotic behavior of the cubic equation by varying the governing parameters, finding Bifurcation diagrams, etc., are all subtopics of this work, but finding the cubic map is the main focus.\u0000Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number I, Jun 2023, pp. 27-42

The region experiences a significant number of natural disasters every year as a result of the existence of the river. The region undergoes regular riverbank erosion as a result of the continuous changing of river channels. This study aimed to assess the changing of the Padma River and its impact on land use and land cover in the three adjacent districts of Munshiganj, Madaripur, and Shariatpur. Geographic Information System (GIS) along with remote sensing (RS) techniques were employed to analyze data collected between 1988 and 2023. Best results in detecting land-use/land-cover type and identifying erosional impact were achieved using K-means cluster unsupervised image classification. The accuracy of image preprocessing and classification was separately evaluated using the kappa coefficient. For the years 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, 2017, and 2023, the findings indicated an overall accuracy of 86.36%, 83.32%, 87.1%, 85.43%, 87.3%, 87.92%, 88.42%, 90.06% and a kappa coefficient of 83.02%, 83.32%, 86.66%,85.37%, 87.78%, 87.29%, 87.91%, 86.59% respectively. Arable land accounted for 56.40 percent of the overall accreted land area (26340.06 ha), whereas cropland accounted for just 5.99 percent (2798.10 ha) based on long-term river channel migration results. In 35 years, arable land (23661.21 ha) suffered the most erosion (55.42%), followed by inland water (3351.53 ha), which suffered the least (7.15%). The implementation of an embankment inside the research area is proposed as a potentially efficacious strategy for mitigating riverbank erosion in this particular region. The government may implement long-term rehabilitation projects to support individuals who have been displaced by bank erosion and are now landless.\u0000Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number I, Jun. 2023, pp. 43-54

To mark the gap, we planned to investigate the effect of web-based psychoeducation on literacy regarding depression and psychological well-being. A total of 100 depressed students were included in the sampling frame, purposively selected based on some inclusion and exclusion criteria from Jagannath University. The study was accomplished by following a pretest-posttest with a control group design where data were collected using Depression, Depression Literacy (D-Lit), and Psychological Well-being questionnaires along with a personal information form. The data were analyzed by applying an independent sample t-test, paired sample t-test, and ANCOVA. Results revealed that the level of D-Lit and PWB of the depressed students significantly increased in the post-test as compared to the pre-test in the experimental group, but no significant changes in the control group, indicating psychoeducation has an effect on increasing D-Lit and PWB.
