Method: the reflective method grounded on the principles of complexity and pertinent literature was adopted. Results: the perennial commitment to scientific publishing emerged as the starting point for this reflection; hence, the role played by sponsoring institutions as the guardians of scientific journals, the need for investments, and to valorize the management, professionalization, and internationalization of the editorial team are emphasized, along with the ability to expand communication breaking paradigms in the connections between science and society. Conclusion: this reflection is expected to reaffirm the concept of scientific periodicals being perennial devices and, thus, survive the dynamics of time amidst the challenges science faces worldwide. In this sense, it indicates the importance of institutions supporting scientific journals as a condition to ensure their perenniality.","PeriodicalId":51188,"journal":{"name":"Texto Contexto Enfermagem","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84603960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: a methodological study that followed the planning, prototyping and production stages corresponding to the first playable version for development. For the playability evaluation, 62 students were divided into two groups: one for to evaluate the preliminary version and the other for after implementing adjustments; and, for this, the Friedman test was used, which allows detecting differences between medians of more than two paired samples, considering p-value below 5% as statistical significance. Results: the game had three sequential phases: the first addressed vital signs; the second, biosafety measures; and the third, the physical examination. Referring to the playability evaluation, it was possible to observe that the “Concentration” and “Feedback” categories and the general median presented better evaluation scores after implementing adjustments. Conclusion: the current study sought to develop a technology that would allow students attending Bachelor's degree courses in Nursing to sharpen their knowledge in Nursing Semiology and Semiotics. In addition to that, it was sought to evaluate the playability of Semio em Jogo ®; thus, it was observed that the academic community considered the game satisfactory after the modifications as much as before implementing them.","PeriodicalId":51188,"journal":{"name":"Texto Contexto Enfermagem","volume":"IM-30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84739252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: a mixed-methods and convergent strategy study conducted at a university hospital from southern Brazil. The data were collected from a database with 1,663 notifications between March and September 2021. After applying the inclusion criteria, a total of 418 records of patient safety incidents occurred between January 2019 and December 2020 were found, which were analyzed by descriptive statistics with SPSS 18.0; semi-structured interviews were carried out with 18 Nursing professionals, using thematic content analysis. Results: the safety incidents recorded in the pediatric units were more related to intravenous medications and fluids, male gender and infant age group. There were no relevant differences when comparing the notifications from 2019 (219) with those from 2020 (199), with a reduction of only 20 (-9.13%). In the professionals' perception, there was also no expressive change in this situation. Conclusions: the characteristics of the patient safety incidents that occurred in pediatric units showed few statistically significant differences in the periods investigated, corroborating the Nursing professionals' perception that there was no significant change in the institution's scenario regarding incidents. Strategies to encourage notifications and improvements in this system are still required to provide a safe environment to pediatric patients.","PeriodicalId":51188,"journal":{"name":"Texto Contexto Enfermagem","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82814701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: this is a systematic review with meta-analysis. The search was carried out October 2021 in the following databases: SciELO, LILACS, MEDLINE and PubMed databases, with the descriptors “Adolescente” and “Comportamento autodestrutivo” and “Adolescent” and “Self-destructive behavior”, combined by the Boolean operator “AND.” We included studies published between 2015 and 2021, quantitative, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, available in full. We excluded documents that did not contain the amount referring to adolescents who practiced self-mutilation, duplicate and review studies. Study selection was performed by pairs, removing duplicates and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, reading titles, abstracts and full text. In the end, the sample consisted of 86 studies. Meta-analysis was performed using the R software through the elaboration of forest plot, heterogeneity test, funnel test and Egger’s test. Results: the prevalence of self-mutilation among adolescents averaged 21%, with the United States standing out with the highest percentage. Among the identified factors, older adolescents, female, economically disadvantaged, who experience family conflicts, with parents with low education, victims of violence and bullying and who have friends with suicidal behavior stood out. Conclusion: self-mutilation is socially determined so that its prevalence varies according to the integration between different factors. In this context, it is necessary for nursing professionals to offer emotional support to adolescents and their families.","PeriodicalId":51188,"journal":{"name":"Texto Contexto Enfermagem","volume":"65 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80976739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: this is an integrative literature review, carried out in August 2021 in the LILACS, MEDLINE, Web of Science and Scopus databases, without language and publication time restriction. The descriptors indexed in DeCS and MeSH, Immunization, Vaccination, Pregnancy and Pandemics, combined using the Boolean operator, were used. The results obtained were exported to the EndNote reference manager software and, later, to the Rayyan - Intelligent Systematic Review application. The sample consisted of 27 studies. Analysis considered frequency and similarities between the studies. Results: the factors that interfere with compliance with vaccination by pregnant women in pandemic times were highlighted: distrust of vaccines; concerns about vaccination safety in pregnancy or for the fetus’ health; lack of information and lack of knowledge about the benefits of vaccine. Moreover, the reasons for compliance were desire to protect the baby, knowledge about the pandemic, concern about the risk of infection, and recommendation and guidance on vaccination during prenatal care. Conclusion: the factors that may interfere with compliance with vaccination were verified, mainly in relation to new vaccines in the context of pandemics. It is considered that investments in strategies related to immunization during pregnancy can provide health benefits, preventing preventable diseases in pregnant women and their babies.","PeriodicalId":51188,"journal":{"name":"Texto Contexto Enfermagem","volume":"464 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76354199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: this is a psychometric study of development and validity of a board game for health education. Data collection was carried out between October 2021 and January 2022. Initially, the game rules were described and, sequentially, themes related to cardiovascular prevention were identified, used as a basis for card development. The game was submitted to assessment by 14 experts in terms of clarity, theoretical relevance, practical relevance, image visibility and relationship between image and text, through a Likert scale score. The content validity coefficient was calculated for each round, with a coefficient greater than 0.57 being considered valid. New assessment rounds were performed until the appropriate coefficient was reached. Results: the board game was built containing images of anthropomorphized hearts alluding to healthy lifestyle habits and 45 spaces. A total of 69 cards were developed containing the themes of healthy eating, physical activity and the importance of smoking and alcohol cessation. In the first round of assessment, three cards did not reach the minimum content validity coefficient. They were reformulated and sent to a second round of assessment, and was considered validated in this new round. Conclusion: the game, its rules and its content showed adequate content validity evidence after the second round.
