A total number of 180 one day - old broiler chicks (Arbor Acres plus) were used in factorial experiment (2x3) two supplementation forms (inorganic and nano) and three supplementation levels (0, 6 and 12 mg Mn/Kg diet). The 35-day experiment was carried out. Results of this study showed that, birds fed diets incorporated with nano manganese recorded significantly higher digestibility of (P≤0.01) dry matter (DM), organic matter, (OM) crude protein (CP), nitrogen free extract (NFE) and total protein concentration (TP). No significantly effects were detected in albumin, globulin or glucose concentration values. Birds received diet incorporated with 12 mg Mn/kg diet recorded significantly increased in concentration (P≤0.01) of triglycerides and VLDL cholesterol. Birds fed basal diets enriched with 12 mg nano Mn/kg diet presented the lowest level (P≤0.01) of GPT value. In conclusion, the effect of Mn in nano form was positively more pronounced than the inorganic in broiler chicks.","PeriodicalId":510496,"journal":{"name":"Minia Journal of Agricultural Research and Development","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140521091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One day old of 180 broiler chicks (Arbor Acres plus) were allocated randomly into 6 treatment groups of 30 chicks each (2 sources x 3 doses factorial experiment). The distribution of birds was random. Each form of magnesium was added to the basal diet at doses 0, 60 and 120 mg Mg/kg diet. The study lasted for 35 days. Results showed that, birds fed the control diet that was supplemented with inorganic magnesium recorded an enhancement (P<0.05) in body weight gain, feed intake and feed /gain ratio (feed conversion). Adding the highest supplementation level of Mg (120 mg Mg/ kg diet) to broiler diet recorded significant improvement (P≤0.01) in body weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion. No significant differences were observed in weights of live body, carcass, giblets and proportions of dressing and giblets due dietary treatments.","PeriodicalId":510496,"journal":{"name":"Minia Journal of Agricultural Research and Development","volume":"50 21","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140517537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this program, cucumber inbreds were developed using single plant selection method. Selected inbreds were crossed and the resulting hybrids were evaluated with three widely growing hybrids (Bahi, Sakr, and Zein). Analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the tested genotypes for early, late, and total fruit yield. Among the crosses P13xP25, P20xP27, P27xP26, P28xP13 and P18xP21 exhibited the highest superiority effect for the yield characteristics over the best three commercially checks. Therefore, this breeding program led to selections of good cucumber inbreds which can be grown to produce early, late and total high yield of cucumber under the Middle Egypt growing conditions and similar locations. Moreover, much money which is always spent in importing seeds of foreign cucumber hybrids can be saved.","PeriodicalId":510496,"journal":{"name":"Minia Journal of Agricultural Research and Development","volume":"40 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140519376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Flavonoid, total phenolic , (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl )DPPH, and ( Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power)FRAP tests for antioxidants were used to identify the different types of marine sponges methanolic extracts. The anticancer action of the cancer cells MDA-MB 231, HUH-7, and NB4-APL was dose-and extract-dependent. Total phenolic content (TPC) of Xenia macrspiculata methanolic extract has been found to be higher than that of Clathria arbuscula methanolic extract and Crella cyathophora methanolic extract . While the total flavonoid content (TFC) of Xenia macrspiculata methanolic extract has been shown to be higher than that of Clathria arbuscula methanolic extract and Crella cyathophora methanolic extract. As a result of the importance of this plant, the aim of this study is to propagate it using tissue culture technique and identify the most bioactive compounds (phenolic and flavonoid). Shoot tip explants were grown on MS-medium without growth regulators or with 0.5 and 1.0 mg/l of the following growth regulators: kinnetin (kin), 6-(,-dimethylallylamino) purine (2iP), and thidiazuron (TDZ). After 30 days, shoot length, number of auxiliary buds, and observed rooting were recorded. The produced plantlets were subjected to extraction with 80% methanol, followed by HPLC profiling of phenolic and flavonoid compounds. The result revealed that, basal MS-medium without cytokinins resulted in higher quality shoots with root development than the other used media. The formation of small flowers was also observed on the plantlets that formed on the basal MS-medium after three subcultures. Rosmarinic acid showed the most frequent and prevalent compound, recorded 166.64 µg/g DW, followed by apigenin (55.63 µg/g DW), and caffeic (27.25 µg/g DW). In vitro Borago officinalis can be utilized as a source of phenolics and flavonoids, especially rosmarinic acid.","PeriodicalId":510496,"journal":{"name":"Minia Journal of Agricultural Research and Development","volume":"239 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140521746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
