The statistical analysis used data from 281 prefecture-level cities in China from 2009 to 2019. The results show that: (1) there is a positive U-shaped nonlinear relationship between financial development and urban low-carbon economic transformation. (2) Financial development not only directly affects the transformation of the low-carbon economy, but also indirectly affects it through three transmission channels: environmental regulation, industrial structure, and urbanization. (3) The financial development itself and the level of urbanization have a threshold effect on the transformation of the low-carbon economy. Under the threshold effect of environmental regulation and industrial structure, the role of financial development in the transformation of low-carbon economies presents a process of 'first decrease and then increase'. Therefore, improving the intensity of environmental regulation, implementing differentiated financial and industrial development policies, and controlling the urbanization process are effective measures to promote the transformation of low-carbon economies.","PeriodicalId":510399,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"140 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140719934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results are in the following: Ecological cognition has a significant positive effect on the sustainable development of family grain farms. And digital agricultural technology adoption has a partial mediating effect on the influence of ecological cognition on the sustainable development of family grain farms. The ecological cognition level of farmers should be continuously improved, and more support should be given to adopt digital agricultural technology to effectively promote the sustainable development of family grain farms in China.","PeriodicalId":510399,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140717498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To gain a comprehensive understanding of how plants adapt to adverse climatic conditions, we conducted a year-long study with three distinct water stress levels: 25% (sample 1), 50% (sample 2), and 75% (sample 3). The findings revealed a general decrease in primary metabolites (including proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, lipids, and essential minerals like Mg, Fe, K, and Mn) as the water stress level increased. In contrast, secondary metabolites (such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and coumarins) exhibited an increase with rising water stress, although a decline became evident as conditions worsened. The same trend was observed in essential oil yield. Furthermore, gas chromatography analysis of essential oils from the plants indicated significant alterations in their chemical composition due to the influence of stressful environmental conditions.","PeriodicalId":510399,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140721141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Biotechnological methods are often the most effective in solving the problems of waste disposal due to the fact that they are based on natural mechanisms of self-healing in disturbed ecosystems. The aim of the study was to isolate and study the properties of new strains of green microalgae cultivated on residual phosphorus-containing waters, which are promising for the production of biofertilizer. Based on the study of algaeflora from natural reservoirs and wastewater in the south of Kazakhstan, strains of green microalgae Chlorella vulgaris ASLI-1, Chlorella vulgaris ASLI-2, and Oocystis borgei AТР were isolated, capable of consuming phosphate phosphorus and ammonium nitrogen from residual waters in places of storage of solid phosphorus-containing waste.","PeriodicalId":510399,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"40 11‐12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140726753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

New energy has entered an era of competition with traditional energy, and entire power systems need to be renovated and upgraded to enhance related auxiliary investments. From a systemic perspective, considering the low effective capacity of wind and solar new-energy power generation, it is necessary to increase investment in backup power capacity, flexible power supply, grid connection, and distribution, as well as other operational management system resources, in order to ensure the safe operation and power balance of the power grid. In this study, we focus on the comprehensive benefit evaluation of new investments in the power grid under the new power system, starting from the demand and classification of new investments in the power grid under the new power system. We then focus on typical project investments under the construction of the new power system, determining cash inflows and outflows within the investment cycle, establishing a full life-cycle economic benefit model that adapts to typical investments, and further analyzing the social benefits promoted by typical new investment in the power grid. We construct a social benefit model for various entities involved in power grid investment from the perspective of all members of society, distributed users, and power generators, covering multiple benefits such as economic benefits, reliability benefits, environmental benefits, driving economic benefits, and employment promoting benefits. HCHs were the dominant OCPs in the bark samples. The historical usage of technical HCH and DDT considerably impacted the HCHs and DDTs in the barks. Heptachlor, Aldrin, Isodrin, etc., have never been used in China, but they were frequently detected in the barks, indicating their unknown usage or atmospheric transportation from other source regions. Volumetric air concentrations of OCPs were estimated using a model for bark/air partitioning. Calculated air concentrations of ΣDDTs and ΣHCHs were 0.16±0.04 and 10.38±4.13 ng m -3 , respectively. The results of air-soil exchange were: HCB, HCHs, and Heptachlor presented net volatilization; DDTs preferred net deposition; Endosulfan-I and Endosulfan-II might be in equilibrium or presented a weak trend of deposition; and Aldrin was in equilibrium.","PeriodicalId":510399,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"56 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140727924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Carbon and oxygen isotope ratios are important in providing long-term information about plants. In our study, we grouped the plants by considering the life forms of Raunkiaer. We determined the C13 and O18 isotope ratios of life forms in different forest layers. We found highly positive correlations (p<0.05) between δ13C and δ18O isotope ratios in beech-fir and pure oak forest habitats. In the Yenice Forests, which have a megathermal climate type, plants in different forest layers have settled in the areas by choosing the life forms where water will be used most effectively. Geophyte (-27.38±2.27 p<0.05) is the life form with the highest C13 isotope ratio in terms of life forms. This situation proves that the group that felt the water deficiency the earliest is the geophyte form. For O18 isotope ratio, therophytes using surface water are the highest (24.06±3.92 p<0.05) life forms. It is important to examine the water deficiency in old forests such as Yenice Forests through life forms.","PeriodicalId":510399,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"24 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140729467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
