There is no specific treatment, but prevention is extremely important. The study was exploratory in nature, through a literature review based on references published in Scielo, Google Scholar and VHL. Using a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory methodology, the aim was to educate the population of a Basic Health Unit (BHU) in a municipality in the midwest of Santa Catarina about the importance of vaccinating against Poliomyelitis, as well as the consequences of the disease, given that the BHU's vaccination coverage is below the parameters set by the Ministry of Health (MoH). The extension actions to achieve this goal were orientations at the UBS in question, involving a group of family members who accompanied the children to medical appointments. Studies suggest that the aged ones if show overwhelming for problems that involve the health. From the moment that the health is reached the concerns in what start it says respect the individuals to become incapable, changedding itself into not motivated individuals and without interests, and of this form reaching them in such a way in the psychological aspect how much in the physical aspect. Methods: One is about a transversal analytical study. The sample was formed by 23 women and 7 healthful sedentary men, who had been submitted to a program of training of force of inferior and superior members and flexibility (emphasis in the flexibility of the trunk). For the evaluation of the depression, a described questionnaire for FIATARONE was used (1996). This instrument consists of 30 related questions the satisfaction with the life and states of spirit of the individual. The total number of negative points was considered, that is, all those answers that are associates the depression feelings. The analysis used statistics to measure the level of significance between daily pay and after-test of the evaluation of the depression was the test of McNemar, that tests given made use in contingency table 2x2, in order to compare ratio of two pairs groups, where the concordant pairs and the opponents in relation are observed the two treatments. Results: The use of the test of McNemar for the comparison enters the collected data in the daily pay-test and after-test program of physical activity, evaluating the depression, demonstrated not to have significant difference in none of the thirty 0 variable that the applied test composes. The research was carried out by searching for scientific productions in the Pubmed database, inserting the following MeSH descriptors: \"Asthma\"; \"Homeopathy\". These terms were then translated into medical vocabulary and the following expressions were found: Homeopathy ; Asthmas and Bronchial Asthma. The Boolean operator \"OR\" was used between combinations relating to Asthma and the operator AND between combinations relating to Asthma and Homeopathy. The inclusion criteria were articles related to the descriptors selected, which agreed with the theme of the study, published between 2013 and 2023, using the filters: \"full and free text\" and \"10 years\", the latter referring to the date of publication of the articles searched. A total of 14 articles were found in English and Spanish, and after reading the titles and abstracts, 3 were excluded for evading the proposed theme. It is worth noting that 9 of the 11 articles studied question the veracity of the use of homeopathy in the treatment of asthma. It is therefore worth discussing the effectiveness of Homeopathy in the treatment of asthma and its use. This article has brought contrary references, which shows the existence of a controversy in relation to the use of Homeopathy in the current century. It is undeniable that non-traditional medicine has many benefits and has been growing in the country, which is why it needs to be presented to health professionals and patients as a therapeutic option. With this, it is clear that there is a need for more studies on Homeopathy and other integrative practices, greater inclusion of these practices in the Unified Health System, as well as greater inclusion of them in Brazilian medical education in order to demystify untrue information about this important science. Aiming at the reduction of deaths from preventable causes. For this to happen in a standardized way it is important that the training of professionals is done, correct filling of forms, improving the quality of care to pregnant women, before and after birth, encouraging guidance and autonomy. Objective: To characterize the deaths of newborns from mothers living in Belo Horizonte/MG in the period 2015 to 2019. Methodology: This is a descriptive study with original secondary data made freely available by the Ministry of Health, through the DATASUS Information System and TABNET. Results: Of the 1,041 newborn deaths in BH/MG, it was possible to find the main causes with emphasis on: some disorders originating in the perinatal period and congenital malformation deformities and chromosomal anomalies. Conclusion: Live birth deaths in Belo Horizonte are preventable, monitoring through prenatal consultations, the birth plan, monitoring of the pregnant woman and humanized delivery within the service capable of meeting the pregnant woman's needs would reduce deaths. Marchionni","doi":"10.56238/isevjhv3n1-014","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.56238/isevjhv3n1-014","url":null,"abstract":"Introduction: Kerubism is a rare hereditary disorder characterized by bilateral enlargement of the gnathic bones in children, with a tendency to spontaneous remission at puberty. In some cases, it can develop without a family history. Aim: This report presents a case of non-hereditary cherubism affecting the dentition in a 7-year-old patient. Case report: A 7-year-old male patient complained of a bilateral increase in volume on the face in the mandibular body and ramus, which had been developing for 3 years, asymptomatically and with slow growth, with no history of similar cases in the family. Intraorally, the increase in volume extended from the canine to the molar, bilaterally, with anomalies in the teeth involved. Hematological tests were within limits. Panoramic radiography and facial CT revealed multiple multiloculated lesions in the mandibular body and ramus bilaterally. An incisional biopsy was performed under local anesthesia, which revealed the presence of multinucleated giant cells. Based on the clinical, imaging and histopathological findings, the final diagnosis was kerubism. Due to the self-limiting behavior of the pathology, surgical interventions were not necessary and the case will be followed up. Discussion: Although the lesions tend to be symmetrical, here they were more prominent on the right side. The radiographic features were typical of the disease. The lesions can cause malocclusions due to ectopic eruptions, as seen in this case. Despite the hereditary characteristic, there was no family history of the disease. Histological and laboratory analyses are important to rule out other fibro-osseous lesions, but clinical and radiographic aspects are paramount in the diagnosis. Once the bone matures, the lesion tends to regress. However, cosmetic surgery may still be necessary afterwards. Conclusion: The diagnosis of the disease should be based mainly on clinical and imaging findings, since histological analysis is of limited value. Although the vast majority of these cysts are benign, around 1% of cases can become malignant. Aim: To report the history, evolution and management of a patient with a thyroglossal duct cyst that developed into a carcinoma, to review the pathophysiology of the disease and the scarce literature on the subject. Case summary: 40-year-old woman diagnosed in 2018 with TDC. She went to a head and neck surgeon in 2020 for a reassessment of the case, to whom she reported an increase in the nodule and local discomfort. Surgery was indicated to remove it. The anatomopathological examination carried out after the surgery revealed a suspicion of malignant transformation. An immunohistochemical test was carried out, which confirmed the suspicion. The patient was asked to return in 6 months and to undergo ultrasound to monitor the pathology. Discussion: The thyroglossal duct results in the thyroid descending from the base of the tongue to its final resting place in the anterior region of the neck in the midline. This tract should obliterate at the beginning of fetal life; failure in this involution can subsequently give rise to a cyst in this duct. The cyst is often noticed after an upper respiratory tract infection and, in rare cases, a carcinoma can develop from the walls of the cyst. Monitoring activities take place in the morphofunctional and Integrated Projects (PI) laboratory, which has a large collection of synthetic parts that bear a great resemblance to cadavers, projectors, microscopes, incubators and storage locations for biological elements. Therefore, the present study corresponds to an experience report on the activities carried out by monitoring within the Morphofunctional and Integrated Practices discipline. The objective of the work is to report how the monitoring modality works at a Private University in the interior of the State of São Paulo, exposing the mutual contributions that such activity makes, both for students entering the course and for the monitors.
