In view of this increase, the Angolan market has become progressively more competitive, making efficiency a major factor in its survival in the market.This study aimed to analyse the determinants of efficiency in the Angolan banking sector by examining the period from 2014 to 2019. To achieve this objective, we first applied the non-parametric data envelopment analysis methodology to estimate the efficiency levels of banks, and in the second phase, we used a multiple linear regression to obtain an explanatory model of Angolan banking efficiency.In the first stage, the classic Banker, Charnes and Cooper model was used with input orientation, employing the variables of staff expenses and deposits as the inputs, and the total credit as the output, ranking the banks descending order of their efficiency scores. In the second stage, through multiple linear regression, efficiency was expressed as a function of variables measuring the capital adequacy, asset quality, management quality, profitability and liquidity of the banks under study.The variables that proved to be statistically significant in the efficiency of Angolan banking were the solvency ratio, the relationship between liabilities and equity and return on equity.","PeriodicalId":508420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH","volume":"60 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139446714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to its potential functions and benefits, dams in Indonesia also pose significant risks. Therefore, detailed planning for dam construction is essential. The Bagong Dam has a zonal embankment type with a vertical core. This type of dam has larger pores or voids compared to concrete/asphalt dams. Consequently, a detailed seepage calculation is necessary to avoid adverse events. Water seepage can be addressed by analyzing it using the Geo-Studio software, which can identify the depression line, as well as the velocity and discharge of seepage through the dam body. The analysis includes conditions such as Normal Water Surface (NWS), Flood Water Surface (FWS), Rapid Drawdown, and Dead Storage. The analysis will produce seepage patterns (depression lines), seepage discharge, and seepage velocity. The calculated seepage discharge in Geo-Studio is 5.82 x 10-3 m3/s, compared to the manually calculated seepage discharge of 5.98 x 10-3 m3/s, resulting in a negligible difference of 2.672%, with a discharge difference of 0.00016 m3/s. The highest critical velocity occurs in rip-rap material and embankments at a height of 4.04 x 10-1 in the NWS modelling. The critical diameter limit for the most critical (smallest) material to be carried away is found in clay material with a critical diameter of 5.61.10-14 cm. The safety factor for suffusion symptoms indicates the most critical value in NWS modelling, with a value of 4.51. The seepage discharge is still within safe limits since the calculated discharge through the dam body is 0.062 m3/s less than the permitted discharge.","PeriodicalId":508420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH","volume":"77 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139130603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Flexibility is given in Planning, Procurement, Recruitment and Acceptance of Non-Permanent Employees (THL), so Maria Walanda Maramis Regional Hospital carries out recruitment of Non-ASN Employees. The various activity is carried out starting from planning, implementation, acceptance and placement and performance evaluation. During this process, it was discovered that there were employees who did not meet the requirement quantitatively and qualitatively, with 2 adverse events or undesirable events. The first KTD had empty formations or no applicants, the risk value was 16 with high status and the second KTD was found during the evaluation of employees who behaved poorly, the risks value was 12 with medium status. Mitigating the risk of adverse events is by implementing TARIF GCG and Compliance. Based on the results of the measurement and assessment of the risk of adverse events above, an evaluation is carried out to make decisions on handling existing risks in order to reduce or minimize risks to the minimum.","PeriodicalId":508420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH","volume":"110 25","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139134335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Jakarta, as the nation’s capital and the economic center, serves as the primary entry point for international tourists, supporting the overall growth of the tourism industry. Soekarno-Hatta Airport, aside from being an international aviation hub, facilitates access to various tourist destinations across Indonesia. The emergence of Covid-19 has triggered a global crisis and greatly disrupted the world economy. The WHO's declaration of a health emergency led to the implementation of multiple virus control measures, including lockdowns, social distancing protocols, and travel restrictions. Consequently, the tourism sector which heavily reliant on human mobility, experienced severe setbacks and become one of the hardest-hit industry. To endure such crises, businesses are required to adapt swiftly and adopt an entrepreneurial perspective to meet consumer needs amid uncertainty. This research aims to investigate the strategies for crisis management and the application of entrepreneurial resilience among Jakarta's tourism business operators in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The study employs qualitative descriptive approaches, using semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis as data collection techniques. Interviews were conducted with stakeholders in the tour and travel and hospitality industry. Findings indicate that not all businesses have crisis mitigation procedures for the unexpected threats. Businesses are responding to this crisis by adapting, innovating, and seizing every opportunity to ensure their survivals.","PeriodicalId":508420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH","volume":" 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139135798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It inhabits the small intestine especially the lower portion and absorb the nutrition of host from the intestine and deprive it of many important nutrients and thus deteriorates the quality of meat, wool, skin of host which leads to ecomical losses as well.Phosphatases are enzymes hydrolysing esters of phosphoric acid and play an important role in many metabolic processes. The histochemical localization of acid and alkaline phosphatase has been studied in Moniezia expansa as an effort to study some of its biological aspects which would help in its control and chemotherapy.Acid phosphatase was found to be localized in tegument, subtegumental cells, parenchymal muscles, interproglottidal gland tegument, Mehlis glands, testes, uterine wall and eggs and was not observed in parenchyma, interproglottidal gland cells, excretory vessels, ovaries and vitellaria. Alkaline phosphatase activity was observed in tegument, subtegumental cells, parenchymal muscles, parenchyma, interproglottidal glands, excretory vessels, membranes enclosing ovaries, vitellaria, Mehlis gland, testes, uterine wall and eggs.The presence of acid phosphatase in testes, mehlis' glands, uterine wall and eggs as well as alkaline phosphatase in eggs in Moniezia expansa has been reported for the first time.Both the acid and alkanine phosphatases showed the variations in their activity in the tegument along the strobila with highest in mature region. This gives the idea of high metabolic activity in the mature region of the cestode. These phosphatases play important role in metabolism of the parasite and seems to be involved in transportation, digestion, distribution of nutrients and metabolites and absorption of metabolic end products.","PeriodicalId":508420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH","volume":"122 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139133919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unilateral and asymmetrical papilledema is considered highly atypical and a rarity of presentation, posing significant diagnostic challenge to the poorly understood pathological phenomenon of IIH.Case: We report a 40-year-old African female with idiopathic intracranial hypertension who fully fulfills the Modified Danddy Criteria; presenting with unilateral papilledema, with Left eye fundoscopic examination showing extensively hyperemic and swollen optic disc with an associated tortuously engorged retinal vein. Brain imaging via MRI revealed partial empty sella, bilateral prominent fluid signal projection that is more evident in the left optic nerve sheath and a prominent meckel’s cave on the left side measuring (6.1 mm) in the transverse diameter. MRA concluded an attenuated most lateral side of the left transverse sinus. Lumbar puncture was attempted and revealed an opening pressure of (45 cmH2O), and otherwise normal CSF cytology and chemical composition. Significant symptomatic relief was depicted upon lumbar puncture.Discussion: papilledema is universally encountered as a bilateral and symmetrical phenomenon; thus, presentation of IIH with unilateral papilledema has been under extensive research recently in attempts to contemplate the exact pathophysiology. Amongst many other proposed theories, we endorse the variation of the optic canal diameter as a potential mechanism for asymmetry of papilledema in IIH. As larger optic canal diameter is postulated to be associated with higher CSF pressure force transduction with subsequent optic nerve damage.Conclusion: Unilateral and asymmetrical papilledema is considered substantially unique and anecdotal rarities of presentation of IIH; posing a significant diagnostic troublesome and dilemma. Physicians should be aware and highly vigilant of such deviations of usual presentations to avoid consequential diagnostic and management adverse outcomes and unwanted complications.","PeriodicalId":508420,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH","volume":"126 45","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139197380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
