Known solutions are based on the use of an additional “whitening” filter either in front of a filter matched with the signal or in front of a correlator where the reference signal matches the shape of the information signal. Such receiving devices are hard to implement in the case of, for example, intentional interference with slowly changing parameters, which requires filter parameters to be altered. It is proposed to simplify the receiver design by eliminating the whitening filter. The feasibility of two optimal technique options is proven mathematically using the theory of the Lagrange function in the isoperimetric problem of finding the type of function that ensures a minimum noise dispersion and a non-zero value of the signal component. For optimal filtration options, an expression is obtained for the complex transmission coefficient of the optimal (in the indicated sense) filter. For the option when a correlator is used, the optimal type of reference signal has been determined. Expressions have been obtained for the signal-to-noise energy ratio for both options. These expressions coincided with each other, and also agreed with a known relationship for receivers with whitening filters, which proves the possibility of implementing the proposed simpler optimal receiver designs.","PeriodicalId":508283,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Radio Electronics","volume":"312 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141692091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of mathematical modeling of the developed algorithm of determining the frequency of a harmonic signal by the probabilistic-statistical method are presented. Orthogonalization is done through determining the orthogonality weight. Presented below is a calculation of the E-criterion for assessing the level of intersymbol interference for the proposed data transmission systems using the pulse-code modulation. For both systems, it was assumed that normalized Butterworth low-pass filters would be used as the shaping filter. It is shown that when signal-to-noise ratios exceed a certain critical value, weighted signal processing provides a lower bit error probability compared to the conventional processing technique. A general analytical expression for the orthogonality weight of channel symbols is given, which ensures a minimum bit error probability.","PeriodicalId":508283,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Radio Electronics","volume":"127 32","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141282067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its distinctive features from the generalized technique are: in determining the minimum number of intermediate points of the interpolating function of the discriminatory characteristic of the discriminator, followed by calculating its maximum deviation from the theoretical discriminatory characteristic; in estimating the steepness of the discriminatory characteristic at each intermediate point; in calculating the fluctuation characteristic of the discriminator by estimating the variance of the error signal of angular coordinates at intermediate points of the discriminatory characteristic; in using the interpolating steepness function and the fluctuation characteristic of the discriminator for mismatches smaller than the step of change of intermediate points. It has been revealed that the DVB-T2 broadcasting modes, the effective antenna suspension heights and the effective radiated power of transmitters, which are used in DVB-T2 broadcasting, can lead not only to the appearance of areas of intra-character interference with reduced television signal quality inside the service area, but also to the effect of the so-called \"intra-network amplification\". It is shown that at band gap frequencies in the spectrum of the crystal's own electromagnetic states when waves propagate obliquely relative to the elements, such structures can be characterized by hyperbolic isofrequency diagrams in the space of wave vectors. A consequence of this is the possibility of negative refraction effects occurring when waves are incident on the boundary of such an anisotropic hyperbolic medium formed by a two-dimensional crystal with elements of limited length. The problem of incidence of a plane-wave Gaussian optical beam on the surface of a metal photonic crystal is solved using the finite-difference method in the time domain. It has been proven that negative refraction of waves occurs under certain conditions at the boundary of the medium formed by such a crystal.","PeriodicalId":508283,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Radio Electronics","volume":"799 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140469341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The digital antenna array evaluates spatial coordinates with the subsequent beamforming. However, as it is well known, the relative position of antenna elements, their number and the shape of the radiation pattern have a significant impact on the quality of the spatial pseudospectrum. The paper uses the previously obtained expression for estimating the Cramer-Rao lower bound to reduce the number of antenna elements without losing the accuracy of direction-of-arrival estimation of the signals. For example, a two-element array is obtained. The elements have a flat-top radiation pattern. It is shown that the accuracy of the MUSIC method in the obtained array is higher or comparable to the array composed of three elements.","PeriodicalId":508283,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Radio Electronics","volume":"1299 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140466851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
