However, their prominence has waned since the fiscal year 2003 when Commercial Banks (CBs) surpassed them in market share, holding over 70 percent of the market compared to HFCs' 28 percent. Cooperative sector institutions occupy a much smaller share, approximately 0.5 percent. Despite their specialization in housing finance, HFCs face increasing challenges to their market share and profitability, particularly the smaller ones. Many smaller HFCs have already succumbed to competitive pressures. The introduction of the 'Base Rate' by the Reserve Bank of India compelled commercial banks to charge higher lending rates to HFCs, placing additional cost pressures on these institutions. Given this evolving landscape, the financial performance of HFCs has become crucial for their survival and growth. In this context, this paper aims to achieve the following objectives: (i) provide an overview of the institutional housing finance system in India, (ii) conduct a comprehensive examination of the role of HFCs in the changing housing finance market, including their principal challenges, (iii) analyze the determinants of superior financial performance in HFCs using Multivariate Discriminant Analysis (MDA) methodology, and (iv) propose effective strategies to enhance the financial performance of HFCs in the context of financial management.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"5 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139156912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further, the study also investigates the long-run and short-run relationship between capital structure and shareholder value. This study employs pooled, fixed, random effect regression models and panel autoregressive distributed lag analysis. The shareholder value of Indian firms is measured by earnings per share (EPS) and market value added (MVA) while the debt-equity ratio, interest coverage ratio, and total liabilities to total assets are the proxy variables for capital structure. The study reveals that capital structure influences shareholder value significantly. The findings also explored the existence of a long-run relationship between capital structure and shareholder value.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"11 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139156168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study delves into the transformative power of financial literacy programs, evaluating their effectiveness in altering and improving individual investment behaviors. The research pivots around two fundamental questions: \"To what extent do financial literacy programs affect individual investment decisions?\" and \"Do these programs foster more informed and rational investment behaviors?\" The hypothesis — that financial literacy programs significantly influence investment behavior, prompting more informed and rational decisions — was formulated in response to a noticeable literature gap concerning empirical evidence of behavioral change post-financial education in the Indian context. Adopting a quantitative research design, this study employed a survey methodology, encompassing a diverse demographic to ensure a comprehensive analysis. The survey assessed participants' financial knowledge and investment strategies before and after attending financial literacy programs. The results were telling; participants demonstrated a significant shift towards regular, diversified investment practices, a reduced reliance on informal advice, and an increased confidence in financial decision-making post-program. The study conclusively supports the hypothesis, highlighting the critical role of financial literacy in shaping prudent investment behavior. These findings have profound implications for individuals, policymakers, and educators, underscoring the need for widespread, effective financial education. The research advocates for the integration of financial literacy in school curriculums, the regulation of financial information, and the tailoring of programs to cultural nuances. Ultimately, the study posits financial literacy not merely as an educational outcome but as a catalyst for economic empowerment and societal prosperity.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"31 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139155759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research involved a sample of four hundred foreign tourists, and the primary research tool employed was self-administered questionnaires. The reliability and consistency of the measurement scale were assessed using Cronbach's Alpha, resulting in a coefficient of 0.848. The collected data underwent analysis using both descriptive and inferential statistics. To examine the interaction between the main demographic variables of foreign tourists (gender and age) and the five stages of the decision-making process (need recognition, information search, evaluation of alternatives, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation), a two-way multivariate analysis of variance was applied. The findings of the research indicated that a majority of the respondents rated all five stages of the decision-making process as \"somewhat recognized/practiced.\" Furthermore, a statistically significant interaction effect was observed between gender and age concerning the combined dependent variables associated with the decision-making process.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"2 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139156946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research paper conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of eco-friendly consumer behaviour over the past four decades, leveraging the Scopus database. The primary purpose is to systematically examine the evolving landscape of scholarly contributions in this domain, shedding light on key trends, influential authors, and emerging themes. Employing bibliometric techniques, including co-authorship and citation analysis, the study provides valuable insights into the trajectory of eco-friendly consumer behaviour research. Methodologically, the paper employs the Scopus database to identify relevant publications, applying a systematic approach to data extraction and analysis. While offering valuable insights, it is important to note the limitations inherent in the availability and coverage of literature within the Scopus database, acknowledging potential biases in the representation of eco-friendly consumer behaviour studies. This bibliometric analysis serves as a foundation for future research directions and facilitates a nuanced understanding of the scholarly landscape surrounding eco-friendly consumer behaviour.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"4 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139155630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, there will have an effect on the leadership style of the organisation growth as well as the structure in order to enhance the level of employee engagement. The amount of agency and dedication demonstrated by employees in the pursuit of management's goals is directly correlated to the type of leadership that is applied by the managers and supervisors. Because the employee contributions are essential to the success of the company's operations, it is in the best interest of the company to enhance its management of its human resources in order to raise the level of productivity as shown by its workforce. In order for businesses to encourage the expansion and development of their organisation, it is essential for them to boost the level of employee engagement and participation. This is an extremely important factor for the continuous success of businesses. Active engagement of workers is of the highest significance and relevance for the success of the company's stated goals and the execution of those objectives since it enables employees to completely comprehend the vital duties that are required to build the organization's competitive advantage. The study's overarching goal is to analyse the effect on commercial banking in Ethiopia of a number of variables including ATM usage, debit card acceptance at points of sale, mobile and internet banking, bank size, and management effectiveness. Methodology: Over the course of 2018–2022, this study focused on nine commercial banks as its primary unit of analysis. These nine commercial banks were chosen with care since they provided complete data and information during the study period. In our investigation, we used a special type of data called panel data. Separate electronic banking services such as ATMs, mobile banking, point of sale (POS), debit cards (DC), and internet banking (IB), as well as bank size and managerial efficiency, serve as supplementary controls in this investigation. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to help the study reach its goal. Mean, variance, and standard deviation are some of the central tendency measures that have been used in the study's descriptive analysis. Static panel data models were used for the econometric analysis in this work. These included the pooled ordinary least squares (POLS), fixed effect, and random effect models. Results: Commercial banks' performance, as measured by return on asset (ROA), is negatively impacted by the logarithm of mobile banking and management efficiency, according to the fixed effect model. ROA is positively and significantly impacted by bank size and the logarithmic prevalence of internet banking. For this reason, commercial banks could benefit from revaluating certain of their electronic banking offerings, especially mobile banking.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139159030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While some companies have made commendable strides in integrating environmental considerations into their financial reporting and decision-making processes, others lag behind. In our analysis, we found that several companies exhibit a commitment to transparency by disclosing environmental liabilities and actively measuring and reporting their greenhouse gas emissions. These industry leaders also invest significantly in renewable energy sources and sustainable technologies, showcasing their dedication to reducing their carbon footprint. However, there is a notable variance in the extent to which environmental performance is integrated into financial reports, with some companies demonstrating room for improvement in this regard. To foster a more sustainable future, it is imperative for all selected Indian companies to embrace green accounting practices fully, thereby contributing to environmental conservation while ensuring long-term financial stability.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"9 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139209184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

College faculty members often work in dynamic and demanding environments, where interpersonal relationships and effective communication are crucial. This heightened emotional awareness and regulation not only enhance their ability to establish positive working relationships but also contribute to a more positive and supportive work environment. When college teachers feel valued, understood, and supported, their commitment to the organization increases. They are more likely to align themselves with the institution's mission and goals, which, in turn, can result in greater job satisfaction and a willingness to invest in their long-term career with the college. In essence, emotional intelligence fosters a sense of belonging and attachment to the organization, which is a critical component of organizational commitment. Institutions that promote emotional intelligence and provide training and support in this area can foster a more engaged and committed faculty, ultimately benefiting both the teachers and the institution as a whole.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139210374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present article the author has examined the role of Civil Society in India complimenting the government initiatives. Lester and Anheier (1992) reviewed different ways of defining the Non-Governmental Organisation. They defined the NGO as a group of organisations which were formally established. The basic structure of the Non-Profit organisations was non-governmental, self-governed, voluntary and non-Profit activities. The three basic categories of the NGOs' roles were partners, catalysts, and implementers. NGOs typically support government efforts, though occasionally they have attempted to introduce reforms. The government relies on or supported NGOs to carry out specific tasks in various contexts, such as the nation and the State. Nearly all nations have NGOs, but their structures and standards varied depending on where they operate. The emergence of NGOs varies in each nation. The way NGOs had been operating lately has also drawn criticism. Politicians criticized NGOs' expanding influence and substantial financial resources (Lewis, 2010). NGOs are adaptable, creative, and effective at providing essential services and reducing poverty. At a lower cost than governments, they could reach isolated and poor populations. They are able to determine the genuine local needs, promote participation, and disseminate the necessary development technology. There were several opportunities for NGOs to revive their humanitarian efforts (Khandpekar, 2016). NGOs are vital to the success of development efforts in reaching the population. NGOs mostly concentrated on health care and education between the years1950 and 1960. Later, they have begun concentrating on initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and developing activities for the underprivileged. The growth of NGOs and the services they provide are directly impacted by state policy in India.","PeriodicalId":507836,"journal":{"name":"European Economic Letters (EEL)","volume":"124 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139235167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
