The interference signal is of sufficient quality to achieve a phase sensitivity near 10 milliradians/√Hz. With this apparatus, we have recently measured the index of refraction of several gases for lithium waves. The interference signals give access to the real and imaginary parts of (n - 1) and we have tested the linear dependence of these two quantities with gas density. The measured values of (n-1) are in good agreement with calculations and they exhibit glory oscillations, as predicted by theory.","PeriodicalId":50779,"journal":{"name":"Annales De Physique","volume":"3 1","pages":"183-185"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90214332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
