A group of 200 dogs with asymmetric contrast enhancing of the medial and lateral rectus muscles of the eye was formed. The research showed that regardless of the presence or absence of extracranial pathologies, provided there was no extensive invasion of those into the retrobulbar space, the asymmetric staining of eye muscles is associated with the position of eyeballs. With the eyeball turned laterally, the lateral rectus muscle acquires a more hyperdensive patter, with the eyeball turned medially, the medial rectus and oblique dorsal muscule acquires a more hyperdensive patter. \u0000There was not a single case when the difference in staining of the rectus muscles would not correspond to the position of eyeballs. No other reasons that could convincingly explain the pattern of asymmetric staining of eye muscles in dogs were found. \u0000This study is the first description of the pattern of asymmetric eye muscle contrast enhancing in dogs on CT.

High selectivity of dexmedetomide (1620:1) makes it the optimal drug among all representatives of the alpha-2adrenoreceptor agonist class for use in relatively small animals. Dexmedetomidine is currently the most popular sedative used for premedication and sedation, as well as in multimodal analgesia in a constant-rate infusion mode in intensive care. In 2024, a domestic drug with the trade name «Dexody» of the pharmaceutical company «Apicenna» with the active substance dexmethedomidine was registered. The drug is a complete analogue of the original drug and is approved for use in veterinary medicine.

In total, hemoplasmosis was detected in 102 cats (63 females and 39 males) aged from 5 months to 8 years. Of these, 34 cats were diagnosed with a severe form of the disease, and 68 with a mild one. In cats with severe hemoplasmosis, in 45 % of cases, the disease was complicated by chronic renal failure. Also, 5 % of them were chronic carriers of toxoplasmas. Most of the animals were taken from shelters, or were homeless. \u0000One of the leading clinical signs of hemoplasmosis is anemia, which develops as a result of mass hemolysis of infected red blood cells. \u0000The aim of this work was to eliminate anemia and accelerate the normalization of hematopoiesis in cats with hemoplasmosis. \u0000For the treatment of 45 animals (control group), a standard therapy regimen was used, which included antibiotics and glucocorticoids, whereas for therapy regimen of remaining 57 cats (experimental group) Gamavit and Phosprenyl were added. Using this therapeutic scheme, early relief of anemia, stimulation of erythropoiesis, restoration of blood formula and normalization of liver function were noted as well as acceleration of clinical recovery of sick animals which occurred faster by 4…5 days.

For the 1st, 2nd and 4th groups, therapy was carried out for 7 days, for the 3rd and 5th – for 14 days. The drug was used externally for all animals, by applying a uniform layer of 50 g 2 times a day to the surface of the udder. At the beginning and end of treatment, blood was taken in each group for general blood test; milk was taken to assess bacterial contamination and assess the number of somatic cells. The clinical assessment of the condition of the animals was carried out daily. All the animals were kept in the same conditions. The diet of cows of all groups corresponded to the norms for this type and technological use of animals. \u0000The presence of pathology and the effectiveness of the drug were evaluated based on the results of a clinical examination of animals, the results of bacteriological analysis, a general blood test and a milk test for the number of somatic cells. \u0000As a result of the work carried out, based on the results of the study, it was found that the drug showed high therapeutic efficacy in various forms of mastitis caused by opportunistic microflora in lactating cows, and also helps to restore the qualitative characteristics of milk and reduce somatic cells in them.
