However, as a result of strict family planning policies which lasted nearly half a century as well as a significant increase in average life expectancy, the population ageing problem is beginning to emerge in today’s China. Although policymakers have been aware of this trend, current domestic remedies are not sufficient to address potential risks effectively. The core viewpoint of this paper is that China is ought to put international measures on the agenda to prevent future demographic crises. In addition, based on China’s actual national conditions and the experience of the developed world in dealing with the ageing problem, this paper also makes some suggestions to support the improvement of China’s international immigration policies.","PeriodicalId":505064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Science Studies","volume":" 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140214380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study examined the impact of customers on the firms’ green behaviors. Then, we conducted empirical tests on the Chinese-listed companies. It has been found that green customers positively promote the firms’ green behaviors. Meanwhile, the assets liability ratio and the polluted industry strengthen the impact of customers on the firms’ green behaviors. This study makes suggestions that the government can drive the green development of the overall supply chain by providing support to customer-side firms.","PeriodicalId":505064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Science Studies","volume":"29 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139602922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antony Tudor, ballet dancer and choreographer, established and developed the psychological ballet. His masterpiece, Jardin aux Lilas, demonstrates his mastery of conveying profound, psychologically delicate emotions through ballet vocabulary and movements. Jardin aux Lilas is a romantic story that explores the conventions of marriage during the Victorian era through the story of Caroline, who is drawn to marry a man of fortune whom she does not love. Among the wedding ceremony guests are her lover and her fiancé's former mistress. Tudor's choreography is lyrical and dramatic and brilliantly captures the characters' moods and emotions. The ballet reflects the development of the psychological complex of the principal character, Caroline. As she steals moments of encounters with her lover, her movements are light and agile, portraying her joy and carefree mood. Her movements become more introspective, heavy, and somber as she realizes the inevitable separation from her lover and leaves in the arms of her betrothed. In conclusion, Jardin Aux Lilas is a complex and multifaceted ballet that offers a glimpse into the human psyche. It is a testament to the power of art to communicate complex ideas and emotions.","PeriodicalId":505064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Science Studies","volume":"60 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139602559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Residents of less affluent countries frequently migrate to more prosperous nations for improved livelihoods. Remittances, the transfer of monetary and societal supplies from the nations that host immigrants to their nations, are recognized as a significant outcome of international migration. Nigeria, a prominent recipient of remittances, serves as the focus of this study. The findings unveil that lack of food, security, safety, joblessness, and no income force global immigration to be the only alternative for most people in Nigeria who are not from well-to-do families. The methodology employed in this study is triangulation, which involves comprehensively examining various data sources to reinforce the validity and reliability of the research findings. The research is rooted in the neo-classical theory, delving into global immigration with a specific impact on remittances from their home country.","PeriodicalId":505064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Science Studies","volume":" 40","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139145148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study adopted a two-group experimental design comprising an experimental group that received POGIL pedagogy and a control group that received traditional pedagogy. The 98 seventh-graders from a junior high school in central Taiwan comprised 51 experimental and 47 control group students. The data were collected over one semester using tests to assess academic achievement and scales to measure collaboration and problem-solving. This study used descriptive statistics: distribution frequencies, percentages, mean values, standard deviations, and inferential statistics: ANCOVA to analyze data. The results revealed that the experimental group acquired significantly higher scores on the collaboration and problem-solving scales and academic tests than the control group, indicating that POGIL pedagogy is more effective than traditional pedagogy at improving students' academic achievement and capacities for collaboration and problem-solving. The study confirmed that POGIL pedagogy positively affected student academic achievement, collaboration, and problem-solving capacities.","PeriodicalId":505064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Science Studies","volume":"59 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139164717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
{"title":"Media Framing of Internal Immigrants: Exclusion and Sympathy towards Migrant Workers in China","authors":"Mengyu Luo, Ke Tang","doi":"10.5296/jsss.v10i2.21349","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5296/jsss.v10i2.21349","url":null,"abstract":"This study examines the representation of China’s internal immigrants, commonly referred to as migrant workers, in four prominent Chinese newspapers that cater to various societal groups. We conduct a comprehensive examination of 48 news articles featuring the keyword “农民工” (migrant workers) using a combination of quantitative and qualitative content analysis methods. The findings highlight a prevailing pattern where newspapers, particularly those oriented toward intellectual audiences, contribute to the marginalization of migrant workers. Unfortunately, this prevailing trend perpetuates the exclusion of migrant workers, thereby perpetuating institutional discrimination. In light of China’s multicultural society, it is imperative to promote greater tolerance for migrant workers. However, it is crucial to recognize that genuine progress necessitates government intervention. It is incumbent upon both central and local authorities to actively advocate for equal treatment and integration opportunities for China’s migrant worker population, as minority survival cannot rely solely on media representation.","PeriodicalId":505064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Science Studies","volume":"76 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139165256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
