{"title":"Examining Teaching Methods and School Environment Effects on Primary School Learning: A Case Study in Cote d’Ivoire","authors":"Soro Missongui Ange Emmanuela, Euphrasie Joviale Guitey","doi":"10.9734/jesbs/2024/v37i11302","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.9734/jesbs/2024/v37i11302","url":null,"abstract":"The pursuit of effective and quality education leads the Ivorian government to put in place strategies to improve the school context; the initial teaching method, the competency-based approach (APC) has evolved to become the reframed competency-based approach (APCR). \u0000Schools, for their part, will benefit from overall sanitation for their rehabilitation and the recruitment of teachers will be more selective. However, it is clear that despite these efforts, the academic level of students does not improve much. The recent evaluation of the CONFEMEN 2019 Education Systems Analysis Program demonstrates the delay accumulated by Ivorian students. This article therefore questions the effect of the teaching method as well as schooling conditions on the acquisition of academic skills among primary school learners. The use of a quantitative research method as well as second source documents made a significant contribution to the study. The analysis of the results indicated that the teaching method and study conditions have a major impact on learner results. In conducting our reflection, we will use a hierarchical linear model which is an extension of classic regression methods offering the possibility of capturing the information integrated in each of the learners' contexts of existence. This article is of capital importance insofar as it allows decision-makers to have a basis with a view to improving study conditions in Cote d'Ivoire.","PeriodicalId":505052,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140241080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of these factors include lack of enthusiasm for evangelism, internal squabbles, weak discipleship, pastors who are not developed in leadership and weak stewardship. In order for the church to adhere to the great commission, it is imperative for church growth. “Church Growth” is the discipline that seeks to analyse how Christian churches grow, both numerically and spiritually. Numerical growth can include attendance at worship, membership and the number of congregations. Spiritual growth is measured by how people seek the love of God and practices to the neighbours. However, it is harder to quantify, but it is an essential part of the subject. The findings revealed that lack of strategic plan for evangelism, lack of Christian stewardship and lack of leadership skills are among the factors that contributed to making the LCR not to grow. It is therefore recommended that there should be a proper plan for evangelism methods like house to house evangelism, open air meetings and seminars. It is further recommended that Christians of the LCR should take their responsibilities to ensuring that they use their gifts, time, money and talents to make sure that the church grows both spiritually and numerically. The research concludes that the LCR has all the potentiality to grow spiritually and numerically. The church has to take advantage of the growing number of the citizens in Rwanda especially in big cities like Kigali to expand and grow. For this to happen, new strategies for evangelism and discipleship together with mutual relationships between leaders and congregants are most needed.","PeriodicalId":505052,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140245973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, tourists visiting to this tourist attraction of penjamasan pusaka have not increased significantly. This research aims to analyze the causes of the minimal number of tourists coming to this penjamasan pusaka tourist attraction. This research method uses a phenomenological approach which is used to explore detailed data on informants. The results of the research show that the dissemination of information related to Sunan Kalijaga’s penjamasan pusaka tourism attraction only relies on posters and banners so this is not effective in attracting tourist interest. Therefore, it needs an alternative step by using storytelling about the religious meaning of penjamasan pusaka. Finally, it is hoped that this storytelling will increase tourist visits so that it not only preserves this tourist attraction, but also the prosperity of the people in the destination.","PeriodicalId":505052,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140408565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With research, in order to bring about positive changes in the education system. It aims to provide guidance on developing effective methods for the development and improvement of school administrators' personality traits. Five factor personality traits of school administrators were examined according to variables such as gender, professional seniority, seniority at school and education level. In this research, the survey model, one of the quantitative research models, was used. It was held in the 2022-2023 academic year in Sakarya province Hendek district with the participation of school principals and deputy principals working at all public primary, secondary and high school levels. 84 school administrators participated in the research. “Five Factor Personality Scale” was used in the research. As a result of the research, it was concluded that school administrators perceived themselves positively at the level of \"partially agree\" with their personality traits. According to the results of the research, the personality characteristics of school administrators do not differ according to gender variable, and in terms of professional seniority variable; It has been observed that school administrators with 20 years or more of seniority have higher \"responsibilities\". When looked at in terms of the seniority variable at school, it has been observed that school administrators with 7 years or more of seniority have higher \"responsibility\" levels than school administrators with 1-3 years and 4-6 years of seniority. When looked at in terms of the education level variable, no significant difference was found between personality traits and education level. It was concluded that there is a positive, moderate, and significant relationship between the big five personality sub-dimensions of school administrators: extraversion, responsibility, agreeableness and openness.","PeriodicalId":505052,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140447517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
