Ziel dieser Stellungnahme ist, diese Empfehlung zu aktualisieren. Methode: Es erfolgte eine narrative Sichtung der aktuellen Literatur hinsichtlich des Zusammenhangs von Alkoholkonsum und der Entwicklung von Morbidität und Mortalität durch eine Arbeitsgruppe des Wissenschaftlichen Kuratoriums der DHS. Die Zusammenfassung der Evidenz und die daraus abgeleiteten Empfehlungen wurden innerhalb des gesamten Kuratoriums konsentiert und vom Vorstand der DHS modifiziert beschlossen . Ergebnisse: Ein positiver Zusammenhang von Alkoholkonsum und Gesundheit, wie er in früheren Studien gefunden wurde, ist auf methodische Mängel zurückzuführen. Somit kann nicht von einer gesundheitsförderlichen Wirkung von Alkohol ausgegangen werden. Der Stand der Literatur belegt einen linearen Zusammenhang von Alkoholkonsum und der Entwicklung von Erkrankungen sowie dem vorzeitigen Versterben. Die linearen Beziehungen von Alkoholkonsummengen mit Erkrankungs- oder Sterbewahrscheinlichkeiten betreffen verbreitete Erkrankungen. Schlussfolgerung: Empfehlungen auf der Basis von risikoarmen Trinkmengen lassen sich nicht mehr aufrechterhalten. Stattdessen wird empfohlen, den Alkoholkonsum – unabhängig von der Alkoholtrinkmenge – zu reduzieren. Für die körperliche Gesundheit ist es am besten keinen Alkohol zu trinken.","PeriodicalId":503463,"journal":{"name":"SUCHT","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140760581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: Cross-sectional household survey with face-to-face interviews of representative samples of the German population conducted between 02/2021-04/2022. Associations between smoking status (current, long-term ex-, never) and three self-reported outcomes (corona infection status, symptom severity, and symptom duration) were analysed with regression models, adjusted for a range of potential confounding factors, including vaccination status in a sub-sample. We also ran sensitivity analyses. Results: 872 people reported an infection (5.4 % of 16,028). There was no relevant and statistically significant association between current smoking and long-term ex-smoking compared with never smoking regarding ever being infected with corona (aOR=1.02, 95 %CI=0.86–1.20 and aOR=1.03, 95 %CI=0.83–1.28, respectively), symptom severity (aOR=0.84, 95 %CI=0.59–1.20 and aOR=0.88, 95 %CI=0.55–1.38, respectively), and symptom duration (aβ)=-0.09 months, 95 %CI=-0.45–0.28 and aβ=0.002 months, 95 %CI=-0.48–0.48). Sensitivity analyses examining the interaction between survey wave and smoking status showed that the risk of an infection increased over time, and this increase was higher in current smokers compared with never smokers. Conclusions: In the general German population smokers appear to be as likely to acquire a corona infection as long-term ex- and never smokers.","PeriodicalId":503463,"journal":{"name":"SUCHT","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140793285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Concerning game related risk factors, evidence points to certain game features contributing to the overall risk of gaming disorder, as for example reward features, social features, and monetization features. However, no standardized instrument is available to capture risk enhancing game characteristics. Methods: Based on theoretical considerations and stepwise conducted qualitative analyses of in-game content, risk-enhancing game features were identified and specified. Furthermore, a pilot study was conducted comprising N = 4,468 students ( M[Age] = 14.54 years, SD = 1.37 years). Game features of the preferred games of the students were analyzed regarding their predictive value of gaming disorder. Results: Data suggests that two features are associated most strongly with gaming disorder: 1) mandatory social interactions ( β = .20), and 2) number of reward categories ( β = .12). Based on these findings and further updates, the RCCG was refined and finalized. Conclusions: With the RCCG, a structured instrument to capture, describe, and evaluate risk enhancing structural characteristics of video games is available. The RCCG enables a general risk assessment of games as well as recommended age-classifications based on certain structural features unsuitable for specific age groups.","PeriodicalId":503463,"journal":{"name":"SUCHT","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140764637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although MI is sometimes interpreted as a cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), it did not derive from learning theory and has from the beginning been understood and expounded as a person-centered approach (PCA). Method: Narrative and conceptual review. Results: As with Rogers’s original method, the development of MI has been guided by empirical science based on the close observation of clinical practice. It is a behavioral approach in the broad sense of behavioral science. The underlying attitude or spirit with which MI is practiced is unambiguously humanistic in emphasizing partnership, acceptance, compassion, and empowerment. MI focuses on specific observable elements of therapeutic relationship that predict better client outcomes. Various behavioral scientists have distinguished MI from CBT both conceptually and with distinct clinical procedures. The psychological content of MI overlaps substantially with PCA practices such as accurate empathy and also with therapist skills often described as common or nonspecific factors in psychotherapy. Its component processes are engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning. The evoking process of MI distinguishes it from both CBT and nondirective PCA, involving MI-specific technical skills focused on specific client language known as change talk and sustain talk. Conclusions: Like PCA more generally, MI has found broad applications in helping professions well beyond counseling and psychotherapy such as health care, education, pastoral care, conflict resolution, and leadership. Possible historic reasons for confusing MI with CBT are explored.","PeriodicalId":503463,"journal":{"name":"SUCHT","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140764003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
