In Ce qu’il faut dire, staged by Stanislas Nordey in 2021, we see how these issues give rise to the idea of a Poetics of Relation, culminating in a call to recognise the multiple nature of a France that is no longer reduced to its hexagon, but is indeed archipelagic, in order to move beyond the straitjacket of colour.","PeriodicalId":502372,"journal":{"name":"25 | 2023","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139174760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first part of the article introduces the field of postcolonial ecocriticism and examines the historical and contemporary impacts of colonialism on the environment as represented in the novel. My reading then foregrounds the voices of resistance and activism of How Beautiful We Were’s young protagonists and their coming-of-age as postcolonial eco-citizens, and finally moves to highlight the urgency for environmental justice and decolonization in the face of ongoing global environmental challenges.","PeriodicalId":502372,"journal":{"name":"25 | 2023","volume":"19 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139175187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
