More specifically, this study analysed whether or not the PS model was effective. PS model is a model on which learners were trained to choose a certain topic following a number of steps including, ‘reading’, ‘memorizing’, ‘delivering’, effective to improve students’ speaking ability. The topics to be delivered were about famous persons including leaders, artists, actors, actresses, singers, influencers all over the world etc, who give positive effect to the world, give good motivation, inspiration, or insight to the audience. The participants were 16 Gapura’s students, 6 boys and 10 girls. Some of the students were fresh graduated of aviation vocational school and later will be called as beginners, and the rest were under graduate students (IT and economy program) and will be called as advanced students. The observation on model was held for two weeks. Adopting a case-study approach, data were collected from surveys, observation, documentations, note-taking, interviews, and questionnaire. The data were analysed qualitatively. The result of analysis indicated that the public speaking model of learning was marvellous to implement to the beginners as well as the advanced students. Collaborative project-based learning methods have emerged as an effective approach to boost the foreign language proficiency of tourism students by involving a pentahelix collaboration between the tourism industry and tourism students. The objective of this study is to analyze the collaborative project-based learning method and the efforts made to enhance the quality of language education for tourism students. This study involves a comprehensive literature review to identify the advantages of the collaborative project-based learning method in the tourism context. The findings of this research indicate that this method offers real-life experiences in the tourism context for students, enabling them to apply language skills in situations relevant to the tourism industry. Collaboration with the tourism industry allows students to learn from industry practitioners, receive guidance, feedback, and valuable insights into the use of language in the tourism industry. This helps enhance students' understanding of language needs in the tourism workforce. The implementation of the collaborative project-based learning method also enhances students' communication skills in the target language, including the correct use of grammar and sentence structures. As a result of this, mixing more than two languages in written and spoken speech is inevitable. But in addition to having knowledge of more than one language by one individual, there are other functions behind the occurrence of the code mix. This study sought to analyze the reasons behind the use of coded interference in the comments of Balinese-speaking social media users. This research method is qualitative. Data was collected by observing Balinese comments on Facebook and Instagram accounts that uploaded posts about social phenomena in society. Content analysis techniques are used to analyze the data obtained. The theory used is the theory of reason using a mixture of codes from Hoffman (1991) and the Context of Situation from Halliday and Hasan (189). The result found is that social media users mix codes because they want to confirm something according to their beliefs. Expressions of certain groups are rarely found because these social media users do not always show one particular group. In addition, other reasons found in this code mix are a form of humor as well as politeness in giving comments, especially when referring to one individual.","PeriodicalId":500875,"journal":{"name":"Prosiding Seminar Nasional Riset Bahasa dan Pengajaran Bahasa","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136378834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
