India, a hegemonic power in the region, has always been mindful of Chinese interference in this region and has been considering the greater cooperation of China with Pakistan as a threat to their regional power and, thus, in a way, interference in the cause of Kashmir particularly Pakistan’s claim to it. In order to balance the power in the region, India has been trying its best to oppose the Cooperation in the form of CPEC as it will not only benefit China but Pakistan as well and make Pakistan more secure. The research assignment is aimed at highlighting the current Indo-Pak relations as well as the impact of CPEC on Indo-Pak rivalry with future analysis based on observations.","PeriodicalId":500840,"journal":{"name":"Qlantic Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135127309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The intellectual disability normally originates from the age of 18 years and restricted learning activity, including acute deficiency or restrictions in individual expertise in numerous fields such as cognitive, language, motor, psycho- social, and particular functioning of everyday living. People with intellectual disabilities have to face a lot of discrimination in Pakistan due to inadequate involvement of the public and private sectors. Keeping in consideration the importance and sensitive nature of the issue, the present exploratory study aims to understand the role of public sector institutions regarding children with intellectual disabilities in district Lahore. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews with managers of different public sector institutions. The results presented through thematic analysis, and findings highlighted that several gaps existed in services, such as lack of proper mechanisms in the institutions, absence or pathetic check and balance, professional practitioners, training and guidelines, poor and inappropriate infrastructure, and limited participation in sports and extracurricular activities. The study strongly recommended that there should be a review and strict enforcement of policies, awareness among parents, and effective rehabilitation is necessary.","PeriodicalId":500840,"journal":{"name":"Qlantic Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136278974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through the eyes of job embeddedness and commitment, this study explores how compensation, specifically job-based pay, affects employee retention. According to research, offering technical workers attractive salary packages is essential for luring and keeping them. A significant number of technicians are leaving Pakistan, though, in search of better-paying jobs abroad, endangering the viability of the organizations. Recommendations include updating compensation guidelines, making skill development investments, and putting job embedding programs in place. Offering attractive packages and rewarding success are essential elements to increase retention. This study emphasizes how important it is to match compensation to global norms in order to encourage job embedding and commitment, ultimately ensuring the lifespan of businesses in the developing telecom sector.","PeriodicalId":500840,"journal":{"name":"Qlantic Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136277544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study employs the method of textual analysis for the interpretation of the text. The critical analysis further emphasizes the varied immigrants’ experiences, their voluntary and involuntary migrations, and their struggle for identity in the host land. Voluntary migration has depicted present-day London, and in-voluntary migration has been represented as forcible migration or expulsion of South Asians, particularly Muslims from Uganda. The story reconciles the old and new identities through the representation of a split timeframe. The findings of the study reveal the major characters’ fractured and volatile identities that become harmonious after the acceptance of various aspects of identity, and their hybrid identities become liminal. The study further reveals that despite the challenges, individuals with multi-generational diasporic identities have the potential to bring a unique perspective and rich cultural heritage to the communities they belong to. By embracing and celebrating their diverse identities, they can contribute to a more inclusive and multicultural world.","PeriodicalId":500840,"journal":{"name":"Qlantic Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"214 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136277739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results based on ARDL models show that a unidirectional long-term relation exists between the variables being examined. In the short term, there is a strong and significant relationship between energy consumption (EC) and carbon emissions with economic gcorowth (GDP). The findings suggest that in Pakistan, energy is a factor for both short and long-term economic growth. Energy consumption, carbon emissions, and rural population growth, while the urban population also influences economic growth. The outcome of these empirical findings suggests that the country should aim at increasing energy consumption with minimum impacts of pollution and achieve energy security. Priority should be given to energy management that combines demand and supply factors. Efforts should be made to promote an adequate energy mix that includes clean, renewable energy and improve energy efficiency in a holistic framework. Environmental degradation, energy consumption, and urbanization policies must be adapted to achieve energy self-sufficiency together with minimum CO2 emissions.","PeriodicalId":500840,"journal":{"name":"Qlantic Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135083764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
