This not only increases the manpower needed for maintenance but also disrupts the use of the waterfalls. Therefore, it is necessary to design a new type of artificial waterfall that is suitable for gardens. The waterfall should incorporate features that make cleaning easier, including filter plates and water funnels to prevent clogging caused by fallen leaves and debris.","PeriodicalId":499783,"journal":{"name":"Journal of world architecture","volume":"228 S733","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140428303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It explores, from the imaginaries, how certain urban objects can act as emotional agents and how these events affect the urban system as a whole. An adaptive complex systems perspective is used to analyze these patterns. The results show patterns in the processes and dynamics that occur in cities based on the objects that affect the emotions of the people who live there. These patterns depend on the characteristics of the emotional charge of urban objects, but they can be generalized in the following process: (1) immediate reaction by some individuals; (2) emotions are generated at the individual level which begins to generalize, permuting to a collective emotion; (3) a process of reflection is detonated in some individuals from the reading of collective emotions; (4) integration/significance in the community both at the individual and collective level, on the concepts, roles and/or functions that give rise to the process in the system. Therefore, it is clear that emotions play a significant role in the development of cities and these aspects should be considered in the design strategies of all kinds of projects for the city. Future extensions of this work could include a deeper analysis of specific emotional events in urban environments, as well as possible implications for urban policy and decision making.","PeriodicalId":499783,"journal":{"name":"Journal of world architecture","volume":"64 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140430532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

How and why are the use and organization of space-time around the Internet shaping a new domestic spatiality that intertwines the digital space with the production of social space through the practice of habits, presence, and interaction of individuals? What are the repercussions of the superimposition of digital space on human existence? The units of analysis were integrated through the sum of people and middle-class housing in the face of the digitalization process in the city of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The questionnaire consisted of 35 questions designed from the Likert scale under the thematic order of presence, interaction, and habituality. The data were analyzed using SPSS software. This research contributes to explaining the current period in the history of inhabitable space, dominated by the simultaneous interrelationships between individuals, digital space, and architecture, which result in the detachment and devaluation of physical domestic space, while also highlighting the lack of control and regulation of individuals over the Internet.","PeriodicalId":499783,"journal":{"name":"Journal of world architecture","volume":"47 15","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140431238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a typological research approach and chronological analysis, various factors that have influenced the evolution of ancestral hall architecture are analyzed. The study specifically investigates the features of ancestral halls during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Three periods of ancient China are analyzed: The transition from Ming to Qing, the mid-Qing dynasty, and the late Qing dynasty. The variables of each period and how they influence the evolution of architectural typological features are identified. Based on our analysis, architectural features are related to economic and social factors, materials available, and craftsmanship of the construction workers.","PeriodicalId":499783,"journal":{"name":"Journal of world architecture","volume":"105 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140429293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was built in the Han Dynasty and has a long history of nearly 2,000 years. In 1994, the Chinese government launched the Three Gorges Dam project at the Yangtze River and implemented the largest relocation project for the General Zhang Fei Temple to prevent it from being submerged. The temple was relocated 32 kilometers upstream along with the local people of Yunyang County, and the historic environment was rebuilt on the opposite side of the migrant city of New Yunyang County. The temple was restored successfully and the tradition of offering sacrifices to General Zhang Fei continued in the local community. The relocation project lasted for 8 years and became the largest cultural heritage conservation project of the People’s Republic of China at the end of the 20th century. This paper comprehensively summarizes and reviews the project goals, implementation process, and project highlights of this relocation, so as to provide an important case reference for heritage conservation projects in the future.","PeriodicalId":499783,"journal":{"name":"Journal of world architecture","volume":"21 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139452458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
