The research was carried out in the Web of Science database, using \"Fungi AND Mollusk\" and \"Bacteria AND Mollusk\" descriptors and publication time between 2001 and 2021. Indexes were built by years, countries, research areas, and two maps of the co-occurrence of terms. There was a progressive increase in the production of microbiota in mollusks, with more research on bacteria during the investigated period. China and USA were the countries with the highest percentage of publications. Research with fungi and bacteria accounted for 28.41 and 17.66% in China, respectively. While the USA, the percentage was 21.05% for fungi and 16.02% for bacteria. Areas such as marine and freshwater biology (24.77%), fisheries (23.86%), biochemistry and molecular biology (18.60%), and pharmacy (17.83%) showed a higher percentage of indexed articles. There was also a high concentration of deposits of publications in the immunology area for both themes. The groups formed for bacteria and fungi indicated that studies had described the immune responses of mollusks, the genetic aspects associated with their defense mechanisms, pathogen virulence factors, and symbiotic and pathogenic microbiota, highlighting genera Vibrio, Aspergillus, and Escherichia coli pathogenic pathotypes. Two methodological approaches (microscopy and chemotaxonomy [CHEMTAX]) were used to describe the variability of some genera and species (observed under the microscope) and the importance of those groups that cannot be observed microscopically. Phytoplankton biomarker pigments were measured with high-resolution liquid chromatography and used as input to run the CHEMTAX software to determine the contribution of the main phytoplankton groups to chlorophyll-a (Chl-a). The microscopic analyses showed that diatoms and dinoflagellates comprised 65 and 33% of the total cells, respectively. Dinoflagellates were most abundant in the inner bay and during cold months; the most frequent and abundant genera were Tripos, Protoperidinium, and Prorocentrum. Among diatoms, the most frequent genera were Cylindrotheca, Guinardia, Navicula, Pseudo-nitzschia, and Chaetoceros. CHEMTAX indicated that, together with diatoms, the flagellates prymnesiophytes and chlorophytes contributed a median of 80% to Chl-a, with chlorophytes as the most important group (29.9%). The high contribution of these flagellates suggests that they are represented by small-sized cells not visible by the light microscopy used. However, CHEMTAX largely underestimated the contribution of dinoflagellates (due to the presence of many mixotrophic species). The first corresponded to a sickle pomfret, Taractichthys steindachneri, the first record of the species in Chilean waters. The second specimen corresponded to the rough pomfret, Taractes asper, already reported from the Chilean coast, but with only one previous record from the eighties. However, little is known about species biology and ecology. This study involves young ovigerous females (28 in total) recollected at Bahía de La Paz, Mexico, into bivalve mariculture devices cleaned every 3-4 months. Total carapace length (TL) and carapace width (CW), weight without eggs (TW), and fecundity (F, number of eggs) were analyzed for multiple relationships. F varied into 162 and 2205 eggs (x̄ = 1171 ± 689 eggs), their diameter into 0.38 to 0.45 mm (x̄ = 0.396 ± 0.027 mm). Three persistent and interactive modes were detected: low/moderate/high F, small/medium/large size (TL and CW), and light/middle/heavy TW. Log-linearized allometric regressions were applied to determine the relative fecundity constants (RFC) by body complexion, finding high parallelism between TL and CW related to step-wise growth and size categorization upon the isosceles-shaped carapace. In contrast, TW denoted an increase in body complexion across intermolt phases. S. debilis likely completes three maturation/molt cycles within 3-4 months after the first crab instar. Univariate and multivariate statistical analyses were used to determine the abundance, richness, and composition of demersal fish assemblages and to list predictor variables responsible for the variability in these ecological descriptors by applying generalized linear models. The collected specimens of demersal fish (n = 25,179) were distributed across 19 orders, 31 families, and 72 species. Fish richness was explained by the following predictor variables: the percentage of fine sand in the sediment, the richness of the benthic megafauna, and sampling sites. The abundance was associated with the predictor variables of the percentage of very fine sand in the sediment, percentage of silt in the sediment, salinity, and sampling sites. Canonical correspondence analysis showed that the fish assemblage composition was strongly associated with the salinity gradient and positively correlated with benthic megafaunal species richness. An experimental design was applied with five treatments in triplicate, including T1: (RL8+N7); T2: [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C)]; T3: [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C) + (N7)]; T4: [(ViP-7C+ViA-7C) + (PhA-7C+SiT-7C) + (RL8)] and T5 as the control without actinobacteria or HDBC. T2 showed significant differences (P < 0.5) in height increase compared to the other treated and control groups. The organisms in T2, T3, and T4 recorded higher weight gain compared to T1 and T5. A survival rate from 94.13 ± 2.12 to 99.01 ± 2.45% was obtained with a significant difference (P < 0.05) between T1, T2, and T3, concerning the untreated control (T5). A significant decrease in Vibrio spp. the content was observed in water and shrimp in T1 and T2 concerning the control. The heterotrophic bacterial count in hepatopancreas increased with all treatments compared to T5. In the recent history of the fishery, there has been a decrease in catch sizes and a progressive reduction in mesh sizes. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influenced the mean catch sizes of Chilean hake between 2001 and 2018 to understand this situation, correlating the response of fishermen with the capture efficiency of the nets used. Applying a generalized linear model, a significant effect of the factors year, port (zone), and mesh size were observed on the mean size of individuals caught. The model explained 85% of the deviation, the greatest relative contributions being made by the factors year (53.6%) and port (30.2%). A lower effect was estimated for the mesh size factor with 1.2% deviance. These findings suggest that the progressive reduction in mesh sizes is associated with a response to the demographic change in the stock. Hawksbill sea turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) are a Critically Endangered species with decreasing population trends. There are several hawksbill rookeries in the southern Caribbean Sea, particularly on Los Garzos Beach, the main nesting site of continental Venezuela. A preliminary physical analysis of microplastics sampled from 10 sites on Los Garzos Beach reported high numbers (94 ± 2.5 items) of 14 different materials and colors. Microplastic counts at 10 sites averaged 1504 ± 405.61 items m-2, higher than other sea turtle nesting sites worldwide. There were no statistical differences in the concentration of microplastics at the sampled sites of Los Garzos Beach. However, the concentration of microplastics on this beach is higher at the midpoint of the falling tide (3520 ± 405.61 items m-2) and the top of the sea turtle nesting area (3840 ± 405.61 items m-2). We speculate that this debris could harm the nesting environment of hawksbill sea turtles in the region. Despite its importance, several questions exist about this species's demography and migratory routes. The first step in understanding the migratory behavior of B. australis is to test the feasibility of a conventional tagging program, a standard mark-recapture method, to infer migration in fish. Between February 2020 and December 2021, conventional tagging was conducted during 21 fishing trips on board artisanal vessels off Lebu harbor (Biobío Region, Chile) using gillnets, longlines, and handlines. Three thousand nine hundred forty-six individuals of B. australis between 30 and 55 cm fork length were tagged using external T-anchor bar labels (commonly known as \"spaghetti\"). Approximately 100 and 200 fish were tagged per fishing trip using longlines and gillnets, respectively. The size distribution of the tagged individuals was consistent with those retained in the catch, with 90% of tagged fish being longer than the fork length at 50% maturity. Eight tags have been recovered off the coast of Lebu up to May 2022. With times at liberty between 50 and 537 days. These preliminary recaptures are also analyzed in the context of the conceptual model for demography and migration proposed for this species in Chile. As a general rule, larvae and juveniles are more sensitive to temperature stress than adults, which represents a key factor that partly determines their development and growth in aquaculture. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of exposure to temperatures of 21, 24, and 27°C on the respiratory metabolism (RM) of Totoaba macdonaldi in different developmental stages. For this purpose, eggs, larvae with 4, 6, 8, 14, and 22 days post-hatch (dph), and juveniles of 25 dph were exposed to the experimental temperatures for 5 h. After the exposure time, oxygen consumption measurements were performed. The results clearly show that temperature (21 to 27°C) has the greatest effect on RM in eggs and larvae at 4 and 22 dph (3.1 ± 0.3 to 4.3 ± 0.3 μmol O2 h-1 egg-1, 2.9 ± 0.3 to 10.5 ± 1.2 μmol O2 h-1 larvae-1 and 102.0 ± 6.4 to 189.8 ± 15.3 μmol O2 h-1 larvae-1, respectively). This thermal sensitivity was not observed from 6, 8, and 14 dph larvae and juveniles at 25 dph, where morphological development was the main factor that influencing the RM. Therefore, this study shows that temperature affects RM in different development stages of totoaba, beginning in the egg stage and intensifying once the larvae hatch until 22 dph.
