The results of hydrochemical studies, carried out by the authors in 2022 in reservoir bays and tributaries are analyzed and compared with earlier studies. The waters of rivers flowing into the Irkutsk Reservoir were found to belong to sulfate-hydrocarbonate magnesium-calcium type. The chemistry of the waters of rivers, bays of the Irkutsk Reservoir in the key areas, where inhabited localities, cottage settlements, and garden plots are situated, was found to differ from the background chemistry and to be chloride-hydrocarbonate magnesium-calcium. The microelement composition of water in the major portion of the reservoir corresponds to the ranges of the basic concentrations of microelements at the source of the Angara River.</p>","PeriodicalId":49368,"journal":{"name":"Water Resources","volume":"39 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140574828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The seasonal character of the isotopic composition variations is shown both for precipitation and river water with the amplitude of variations in the isotope characteristics in precipitation being appreciably higher than in river water. The features of changes in the isotopic composition of Yauza River water are shown for the periods of snow melting in 2020 and 2021, which differ in the amount of snow reserves in the preceding winter seasons and in the volumes of snowmelt water. Measurements were carried out using an automatic production meter developed by A.V. Goncharov, a system of water temperature recorders, subaquatic illumination, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), and meteorological characteristics. No statistically significant relationship between gross production and the main predictors determining its value have been recorded throughout the measurement period, while its relationships with water temperature and illumination proved to be statistically significant for the period with no limitation of biogenic elements and for the autumn cooling period. The current dynamics of water flow and runoff-formation factors over 1979–2020 are analyzed, and the sensitivity of water regime characteristics of the Kolyma River to changes in climate parameters is studied. The comparison of the mean values of meteorological characteristics in the Kolyma basin over 2000–2020 with the mean values over 1979–1999 showed an increase in the normal annual air temperature by 1.3°C, the total annual precipitation increased by 8.3% with the most abrupt increase in September and March. According to observation data, the annual river runoff at the Kolymskoe gage (283 km from the Kolyma mouth), increased by 5.2%. Physical-mathematical models of river runoff formation have gained in popularity as a tool for studying the features of the water regime and its dynamics. In this study, the ECOMAG model is applied to the Kolyma R. basin, where its calibration and verification for two gages showed a good reproducibility of the actual water discharges. To better understand the mechanisms of the response of Kolyma water regime to changes in the climate characteristics based on ECOMAG model, the sensitivity of runoff characteristics to air temperature and precipitation was analyzed.</p>","PeriodicalId":49368,"journal":{"name":"Water Resources","volume":"54 52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140884696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
