A qualitative approach with a focus on musicology was used as the research method. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The results revealed that the Hoho is performed by a minimum of 5 people in the group presenting the text, with a leader from the si'ulu or si'ila group called sondroro or Hoho Participant. The Hoho is also responded to in turn by several small groups of two to four text presenters known as sanoyohi or Speakers. All Hoho presenters are male. Textual analysis of the meaning and message of the Hoho shows that Lawaendröna is looking for a way out of the threat of death. He considers various possibilities, including going to the moon, but eventually realizes that humans cannot escape death. In essence, the Hoho depicts the human life cycle and philosophical questions about death and eternity.","PeriodicalId":488663,"journal":{"name":"SoCul International Journal of Research in Social Cultural Issues","volume":"71 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135684771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to find out the significant correlation between brain hemispheric dominance and reading skill of IELTS, and to identify the significant difference among students at the same level who have different categories of brain dominance in reading skill of IELTS. Students’ score in reading of IELTS and categories of brain dominance in the basis of personal traits and cognitive styles from 114 students of three different universities at the context of EFL were correlated and analyzed in Pearson Chi-Square, Kruskall –Wallis, and Mann-Whitney. The findings show that there is significant correlation between two variables. Different categories of brain dominance influence on students’ reading skill of IELTS. Findings of this study support what the theorists of brain dominance claim that individuals who have different brain dominance tend to be different in doing specific tasks.","PeriodicalId":488663,"journal":{"name":"SoCul International Journal of Research in Social Cultural Issues","volume":"71 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135684941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Qualitative approach and musicological study were used by the researcher in this study, with data collection techniques through observations, interviews, and written notes. The results showed that cultural arts teachers at SMP Negeri 4 consistently apply learning models to improve students' academic achievement. Learning is conducted in three stages: preparation, core activities, and closing. In teaching Kolintang music, teachers use a project-based learning model with the following steps: 1) setting important questions; 2) planning project action steps; 3) making plans; 4) conducting evaluations; and 5) reflecting on past events. Students are guided towards higher order thinking through the Project Based Learning approach, and they are able to create 21st century learning products with positive results.","PeriodicalId":488663,"journal":{"name":"SoCul International Journal of Research in Social Cultural Issues","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135313899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
