The research study uses cross-sectional primary data from 5040 individuals collected with online and manual research questionnaire. The study employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for rigorous assessment of numerical coefficients and also examines reliability, validity, and discriminant validity among the constructs to ensure their distinctiveness within the model. With R-square (0.541) and adjusted R-square (0.529), the results show that Socioeconomic indicators (Family income & employment, and Occupation) and family history have significant positive while genetic indicators like genetic markers have a negative impact on the presence of genetic disorder in disabled persons. The results also showed that mediation effects (the access to education and access to healthcare) demonstrate a significant negative impact on the presence of genetic disorders in disabled persons, where we safely say that with the increase in access to education and access to healthcare, genetic disorders in disabled persons can be removed or overcome in Punjab, Pakistan. Based on findings, recommendations are proposed for better decisions of officials and policymakers in the betterment and favor of disabled persons in Punjab, Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"16 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140262221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its fertile lands have always been a big source of prosperity. During British rule, colonial authorities in Punjab made many reforms in this region. They not only reformed the agriculture sector but also improved infrastructure. Construction of a road network, railway line, postal and telegraph system as well as supply of electricity had positive impacts on the social and economic life of Jhang. Although all these developments were made for colonial interests ultimately these benefitted the peoples of Jhang. Among British reforms, the most important were agricultural reforms. These reforms had a deep impact on the future and socio-economic and political setup of Jhang. After agricultural reforms and establishing canal colonies, Jhang was neglected in terms of establishing agro-based and other industrial units and new agricultural research and science and technology institutions. As a result, the Jhang was denied the chances for advancement and growth that could have driven and propelled it to become a more prosperous and progressed region. Here the question arises of whether the actual purpose of agricultural reforms in district Jhang was only to create certain classes to protect colonial interests and reward them for their loyalties? Did the British Colonial agrarian reforms lay the foundation for the Feudal system in Jhang? Did the voters have any real choice? How was the religion card employed in the absence of non-Muslims? And how important were ethnic and geographical affiliations in a newly independent, conventional Punjab. How fluidity of displaced people affected the electoral behaviour and results. These important inquiries have important implications for the present scenario. Muslim League became a major political party and incumbent government during the early years of independence. The provincial election helped its splinter groups into new political parties. Victimhood, blaming, national unity, and the Kashmir issue were top trends in campaign rhetoric. Rural election campaigns focused on biradri, clan or village heads. Both male and female voter registration and vote casting still needed to improve. Muslim League was accused of using officials and rigging. Research noticed that the electoral reforms improved the election process while acceptance of election results could not make its place. Press lacked objectivity and the government imposed censorship on its critics. The Punjabi electors voted Muslim League as well as opposition with conventional thinking rejecting radical call against Muslim League, popular at that time in East Bengal. This article contributes to understanding early electoral behaviour of Punjab, particularly and the present scenario of elections in both Punjab and Pakistan in general.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"9 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139534172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A simple random sampling technique was used to chose a convenience sample of 51 respondents, for the pilot study. A structured questionnaire was adapted to collect responses from the consumers who buy from organized or unorganized meat retail shops. Since store atmospherics did not have a significant impact on the impulsive buying behavior, it was dropped while the other two variables, visual merchandising and sales promotions offers were accepted as they showed a positive impact in indulging the consumers in impulsive buying. The study concludes that organized meat retailers should focus on visual merchandising and sales promotion offer strategies to attract new and existing customers so that they indulge themselves in impulsive buying.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"12 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138971754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also helps them to accelerate their abilities in investment decision-making. This study used semi-structured open-ended questions to explore the behavioural bias in six individual investors of the Pakistan stock market. The thematic content analysis is used to analyze the data. This study explores eight behavioural biases of the individual investor in the Pakistan stock market and process it does not seem that all the investors will suffer from all the behavioural biases simultaneously. Their decision is based not only on quantitative analysis but also influenced by cognitive, emotional, and social biases. They depend on other sources of information before investing in the stock market. This study focuses on behavioural biases of individual investors of the Pakistan stock market so their results can not be generalized to institutional investors, real estate investors, or any other geographical area due to culture differences, education level, values, and financial structure. As this study explores only individual behavioural bias it leaves many areas that are unexplained for further research like institutional investors behavioural bias, real estate investors behavioural bias with more sample size. The practical implications are it is helpful for companies, policymakers, and securities issuers can observe the investor interest and behaviour before issuing securities into the market. As far as the social implication is concerned it is good for investors to understand the several behavioral biases and make sound investment decisions that mitigate their risk. This paper explores the concept of behavioural biases in individual decision-making and adds value to the existing literature on behavioural finance.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"13 8‐9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138972211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study used the MICS (2017-18) dataset. Out of the MICS (2017-2018) data set, a total of 11621 cases were selected. The selected cases were all between the ages of 5 - 17 years, who were enrolled in a primary school in the year prior to data collection. Primary school dropout was the main dependent variable of the study. Out of the 11612 selected children that were enrolled in primary school in the year prior to data collection a total of 274 (2.4%) children had dropped out. Multiple logistic regression were performed to gauge the relationship between primary school dropout and the various demographic, economic, household level and individual level variables included in the study. The study revealed that some demographic, economic and individual level variables significantly increased the odds of primary school dropout. Specifically, children from urban areas (demographic) or poor families (economic) had a significantly higher likelihood of dropping out. There is a need for a comprehensive policy that provides a holistic strategy for eliminating the incidence of school dropout at the primary level. This strategy should involve multiple stakeholders including the government, civil society, international organizations and most importantly, the communities.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"8 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138982215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of agriculture sector depends on the production of cropping, livestock, fishery, and forestry sectors. The contribution of both cropping and livestock sectors in the agriculture production is almost 96.42 percent while the cropping sector contributes almost 33.85 percent during the fiscal year 20-2021 [Pakistan Economic Survey, 2020-2021]. The focus of this study is to investigate the factors which may influence the performance of crop production in Pakistan. For this purpose, bounds testing approach for the sample period from 1976 to 2022 is considered. The empirical results reveal that employment in agriculture sector, agriculture machinery, fertilizer consumption and urban population significantly boost the pace of crop production while the role of raw material imports is witnessed to be insignificant. The above reported results proposes that utilization of latest agriculture machinery, advanced fertilizers and high employability in agriculture sector may be encouraged to uplift the share of cropping sector in agriculture production in Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"505 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138982925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using regression, correlation, time-series, and comparative methodologies, data from 2018 to 2022 was analyzed. Findings indicate a direct correlation between higher trade volumes and improved stock market performance, while a rising globalization index aligns with increased capital inflows. Exchange rate fluctuations reflect the currency's sensitivity to global economic shifts. Comparative analysis with regional counterparts highlights both aligned and divergent financial market trends. Moreover, a sensitivity analysis emphasizes the potential impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on stock market indices. These insights underscore the importance of trade policies, global integration, and FDI in shaping Pakistan's financial market dynamics within the evolving global economic landscape.","PeriodicalId":476119,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Business and Economics (BBE)","volume":"6 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138586001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
