This approach has shown remarkable success in various cancer types, including melanoma, lung cancer, and breast cancer. However, challenges and limitations exist, such as resistance mechanisms and immune-related adverse effects. To overcome these challenges, future directions in immunotherapy focus on combination therapies, targeting novel immune checkpoints, and identifying reliable biomarkers and predictive factors. These advancements aim to improve treatment outcomes and personalize immunotherapy for individual patients. Continued research and clinical trials in these areas will shape the future of immunotherapy and contribute to the fight against cancer.","PeriodicalId":476009,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Medical Research","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136153953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is no precise definition of HHS. It is characterized by severe hyperglycaemia with blood glucose levels greater than 600 mg/dl (33.3 mmol/l), a marked increase in serum osmolality greater than 320 mOsm/kg, and severe dehydration without significant ketoacidosis (<3 mmol/l). Early clinical diagnosis and prompt treatment, such as insulin therapy, restoration of electrolyte disturbances and management of concurrent illnesses may improve the outcome. Intravenous insulin and fluid replacement with careful monitoring are the main treatment policy of HHS. In this study an attempt has been taken to discuss various effects of HHS with prevention and treatment of this complication of diabetes.","PeriodicalId":476009,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Medical Research","volume":"48 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136093423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It explores the sociocultural and psychological factors that contribute to susceptibility to social media influence, such as self-esteem, body image dissatisfaction, the need for social approval, perfectionism, and social comparison orientation. Peer pressure and social comparison are identified as significant influences on social media platforms. Potential solutions and interventions are proposed, including media literacy education, promoting body positivity and diversity, encouraging responsible social media use, developing evidence-based resources, fostering a supportive online community, collaborating with influencers and content creators, and encouraging individuals to seek professional help. By addressing these issues, we can work towards mitigating the negative impact of social media on body image and promoting healthier attitudes towards food and body diversity.","PeriodicalId":476009,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Medical Research","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134961708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The publicly published datasets (GSE129806 and GSE214323) from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, which are both RNA-seq gene count data of humans, were downloaded. Then the workflows with differential expression analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) (Subramanian et al., 2005) and gene expression Meta-Analysis (Toro-Domínguez et al., 2020) were developed. The datasets were following pipelines which used machine learning algorithms to develop prediction models for classification. The results of this exploratory study suggest that the gene expression profiles identified from the pluripotent stem cell samples with ASD can be used to identify a biological signature for ASD with machine learning techniques. And especially, the gene expression Meta-Analysis of multiple datasets and larger numbers of samples could lead to more practical tools, such as Machine Learning models and workflows, to detect ASD at an early age in the general population.","PeriodicalId":476009,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Medical Research","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134961621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the theory formation and treatment ideas are completely different, they are all different interpretations based on human movement. Traditional Chinese medicine is a theory formed by summarizing the experience, and western medicine is an interpretation of life activities based on modern technology. The theoretical experience of TCM can provide a direction for the research of western medicine and make up for the deficiency of the inexperience of western medicine. The advanced technology of western medicine can make TCM more objective and conducive to the dissemination and communication of TCM. The combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine is conducive to the development of medicine, and exploring the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine is conducive to the rapid integration of medicine.","PeriodicalId":476009,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Medical Research","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134961836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional treatments mainly include surgical decompression and pharmacotherapy whereas none of them could attenuate or even alleviate long-term complications following SCI. This is largely due to complicated pathophysiological process in SCI which includes primary injury and secondary injury. Primary injury is defined as direct mechanical damage on the spinal cord in the initial time course of injury. Secondary injury occurs a few hours after primary injury and it could persist for longer time, promoting a catastrophe of degenerative pathophysiological process in spinal cord and related tissues. Although currently there is no effective cure strategies for SCI, some recent studies have shown that stem cell therapy combined with other strategies is able to enhance neurofunctional recovery and neural stem cell line is one of the stem cell lines which show convincing therapeutic effects (Huang, L., Fu, C., Xiong, F., He, C. & Wei, Q., 2021). Biomaterials can work as carriers which help deliver nutrient biomolecules to help NSC survive and differentiate to more functional cells or as scaffolds which provide structural bridges to lesion site for NSC migration and tissue regeneration (Vismara, I., Papa, S., Rossi, F., Forloni, G. & Veglianese, P., 2017). In addition, the basic principles of magnetic stimulation and electric stimulation are similar and they all involve producing electrical current on brain or spinal cord to modulate brain or spinal cord activity. It has been revealed that electric stimulation and repetitive magnetic stimulation is associated with neuroplasticity which may reduce inappropriate lateral sprouting resulting from NSC therapy, making them become potential complementary strategies to NSC therapy as well (Kricheldorff, J. et al., 2022).","PeriodicalId":476009,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Medical Research","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136221705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
