As China expands its economic, political, and military presence in the region and on the global stage, it is reshaping the traditional geopolitical dynamics and challenging the influence of established powers, particularly the United States. This article seeks to make an analytical x-ray of China's evolving role in the Middle East, analyzing its motivations, strategies, and implications for U.S. policy and regional stability. Through a wide-ranging review of literature and analysis of recent developments, it is argued that China's engagement in the Middle East is driven by the idea of mutual cooperation, its energy security needs, economic interests, and strategic objectives, and that it poses both opportunities and challenges for regional dynamics and particularly for U.S. interests. It concludes amongst other that, in response, the United States must adapt its policies to effectively manage China's growing presence in the Middle East while safeguarding its own strategic interests and promoting stability in the region.","PeriodicalId":476004,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Social Sciences","volume":"38 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141394889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, the region has witnessed a deepening crisis of democracy, marked by the erosion of democratic institutions, the resurgence of authoritarianism, and the rise of non-state actors. This article examines the geopolitical shifts shaping the crisis of democracy in the MENA region and assesses the challenges facing the United States in promoting democratic governance and stability. Through a comprehensive review of literature and analysis of recent developments, this article argues that geopolitical dynamics, including great power competition, regional rivalries, and socio-economic factors, have contributed to the erosion of democracy in the MENA region. In response, the United States must recalibrate its approach to the region, prioritizing support for democratic reforms, human rights, and inclusive governance, while also addressing security threats and advancing its strategic interests.","PeriodicalId":476004,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Social Sciences","volume":"32 25","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141414932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many researchers use as hoc methods such as complete case analysis, available case analysis (pairwise deletion), or single-value imputation, though these methods are easily implemented, they require assumptions about the data that rarely hold in practice. Model-based methods such as maximum likelihood using the EM algorithm and multiple imputations hold more promise for dealing with difficulties caused by missing data. While model-based methods require specialized computer programs and assumptions about the nature of the missing data, these methods are appropriate for a wider range of situations than the more commonly used ad hoc methods. The study looked at the connection between company performance and organizational innovation. A verified structured questionnaire was distributed to 375 employees of the seven largest Fintech companies in Nigeria, out of a total workforce of 15,008 workers, using the survey research design. A statistical approach called multiple regression analysis was employed to examine the collected data. The results showed that although the association between organizational structure and company performance is good, it is not statistically significant (b=0.140, P=.081 <0.05). In contrast, the organizational resources industry has a positive and significant relationship with firm performance (b=0.364, P=.003 <0.05). Among other things, it was determined that organizational structure and organizational structure positively influenced creativity. The study's main recommendations are that leaders should effectively communicate the established vision to their subordinates so that they can take full responsibility and initiative for their jobs through the sharing of authority and that the socio-environmental context of the workplace should be equipped with the necessary facilities to make the atmosphere more enjoyable for employees. The study adds to the body of knowledge by validating the notion that creativity is an unmanageable concept, establishing a successful agreement on organizational creative initiatives in their business model, and demonstrating the entirety of organizational factors in creativity program implementation that influence business results.","PeriodicalId":476004,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Social Sciences","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140398605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent times, the activities of armed vigilante groups has sparked a lot of scholarly debates among authors, critics and analysts who tend to question the necessity for the normal security forces to abdicate their duties to alternative organizations in the country. The study used secondary sources of data collection methods, while the general systems theory provided the framework. The result of findings revealed that four different categories of vigilante groups exist in Nigeria, namely the neighborhood or community watch, ethnic vigilante groups, religious vigilante groups and state-sponsored vigilante groups. Despite the obvious shortcomings in their activities, the proliferation of these armed groups has the support of private individuals and public institutions in the country; thereby filling security gaps provided by the inefficient and ineffective policing of regular security forces. Therefore, it was suggested that the capability of the Federal Government to offer security and administer justice to its citizens needs to be improved irrespective of tribe or religious affiliations, provide better security and counter impunity, pursue police reform and bolster judicial capacity to deliver justice without fear or favor, delegate some policing authority to state and local governments, and create legislation to better control vigilante groups and the dangers involved in their operations. Otherwise, armed vigilante groups will continue to proliferate with increased capacity to upset national security systems.","PeriodicalId":476004,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Social Sciences","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135040232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
